Melanie is waiting for the gates of the Virginia Correctional Facility for Women to open. The guard escorting her pushes a large black button, and the gates open. Melanie is finally free. She walks out and does not turn to look back. Five years in that place was five too many for Melanie, especially since she was innocent of the crime she was convicted of. She was convicted of armed robbery, but she took the fall for boyfriend of two years, Justin. Melanie will never forget that night where Justin abandoned her in that corner store, and she was forced to take the fall for the crime. Melanie was just the watch person, but the police caught her and she was convicted for the crime Justin committed. Melanie just wants to put the five years she was in prison, and the three years she was with Justin, all in the past. She never wants to be taken advantage of the way she was by Justin. She is hoping she never sees him again, because she won't be responsible for any harm she causes him. She wants a new beginning, but with no complications at all. To Melanie, people are complications. From now on, she vows to herself that whatever she wants, she has to get it herself. Her heart is on lock down and she doesn't want to get hurt the way she was hurt by Justin. No woman, but especially no man, is ever going to hurt or use Melanie ever again. She will never trust anyone again, Melanie promises that, or that is what Melanie thinks.

Melanie wakes up the next morning at around 6 am. She looks next to her and sees Chris knocked out and she smiles when she thinks about the quick sex they had at about 3 am. She knows she and Chris are super freaks but she wouldn’t have it any other way. She kisses Chris’ face multiple times and then gets out of the bed and goes into the bathroom. She uses the bathroom, then brushes her teeth and washes her face. She then goes out to the bedroom and sees Janiyah walking into the room.
“Hi mommy,” Janiyah said.
“Hey baby girl,” Melanie said softly. Janiyah walks over to Melanie and reaches up to Melanie and Melanie smiles and picks her up and kisses her cheek multiple times. Janiyah is growing up so fast and it amazes Melanie. About a month ago, Chris and Melanie switched Janiyah’s crib to a bed, so Janiyah can get in and out of it easily. Janiyah can open doors on her own and she is becoming more and more independent by the day.
“Baby girl you are up early. You’re not tired?,” Melanie said.
“No mommy I’m up,” Janiyah said. Melanie just smiles big at Janiyah talking. Janiyah just sounds too cute when she talks and she can’t pronounce words 100% correct, but Melanie and Chris can understand what she is trying to say.
“Ok sweetheart. Can you sit on the bed while mommy gets dressed? Then we will get you some breakfast ok?,” Melanie said.
“Ok mommy,” Janiyah said. Melanie kisses Janiyah’s face multiple times and then sets her on the bed. Janiyah looks at her daddy and smiles and she crawls to Chris and kisses his cheek and then she sits up and looks at Melanie while she gets dressed. Melanie gets dressed, does her makeup, and then starts to do her hair.
“Mommy?,” Janiyah said.
“Yes baby girl?,” Melanie said.
“You do my hair too?”
“Of course I can do your hair Janiyah. Just give mommy a few minutes.” Janiyah just smiles and nods her head and Melanie finishes her hair and then takes Janiyah from the bed and sets her on the dresser. Janiyah has a lot of hair now and it’s in its natural state so it’s tightly curled. Melanie ends up styling Janiyah’s hair in a puff. Once Melanie is done, she shows Janiyah her hair in the mirror and Janiyah smiles big and claps her hand.
“You like it baby girl?,” Melanie asked.
“Love it!,” Janiyah exclaimed. Melanie just kisses Janiyah’s nose and Janiyah kisses Melanie’s nose. Melanie picks Janiyah up and takes Janiyah to the bathroom and brushes her teeth and washes her face and then leaves the bedroom. She makes sure Aden is awake and he is and then she checks on CJ and he is still sleeping, so Melanie will let him sleep for a bit. She walks downstairs to the kitchen with Janiyah and sets her in her highchair and fixes her cereal along with peaches and white grape juice to drink. Janiyah can eat on her own now with utensils. Melanie starts to fix eggs and toast for Aden along with a sliced apple and 25 minutes later, Aden comes downstairs to the kitchen.
“Hi Aden!,” Janiyah said.
“Hey Janiyah!,” Aden said. Janiyah tilts her head towards Aden like she wants a kiss on the cheek and Aden laughs and kisses Janiyah’s cheek multiple times and Janiyah just laughs.
“Good morning Melanie,” Aden said.
“Morning baby,” Melanie said. She goes over to him and squats down and kisses his cheek and then hugs him tight.
“I made you eggs and toast and also you have an apple ok?,” Melanie said.
“Thanks a lot Melanie. Can I make an egg sandwich?,” Aden asked.
“Of course. I will get the cheese for you.”
“Thanks Melanie. I can put it in the microwave and make the sandwich.”
“Ok sweetheart.” Melanie gets a slice of American cheese for Aden and he makes his egg sandwich and then sits down at the table and starts eating. Melanie just smiles at two of her four babies; they are growing up so fast!! She watches Janiyah and Aden talk as they eat and that just makes her so happy. About 10 minutes later, Chris comes downstairs to the kitchen with CJ in his arms and Melanie just smiles at them.
“There’s my other two babies,” Melanie said.
“Hey beautiful,” Chris said. Chris takes CJ’s hand and waves it at Melanie and Melanie waves back. Chris walks over to Melanie and grabs her waist with his free hand and leans down and pecks her lips multiple times. Melanie then looks at CJ and smiles big.
“Hi baby boy! How are you? Huh?,” Melanie said in her baby voice. CJ just laughs and reaches out to Melanie and Melanie takes him and kisses his cheek multiple times.
“Hi daddy!,” Janiyah said.
“Hey gorgeous,” Chris said while smiling big. He walks over to Janiyah’s high chair and kisses her all over her face and Janiyah just laughs loudly. Chris then goes over to Aden and hugs him and then kisses his cheek multiple times. Chris then walks over to Melanie again and kisses her forehead.
“Baby are you hungry? I can make you some eggs or something,” Melanie offered.
“No baby I am alright. What about you? Let me make you breakfast,” Chris said.
“I was just going to have some cereal babe.”
“Naw you sit down and I will fix you something to eat real quick.”
“You’re so sweet.”
“Because I love you.”
“I love you too baby.” Melanie pecks Chris’ lips and then puts CJ in his high chair and starts feeding him his breakfast while Chris makes breakfast for Melanie. 15 minutes later, Chris sets Melanie’s plate and glass of orange juice in front of her and she just frowns and looks at him and Chris smiles big at her.
“Boo boo you’re so sweet,” Melanie said.
“Thank you baby. Go ahead and eat,” Chris said. Melanie just nods her head and looks down at her plate and smiles to herself when she sees eggs placed over the plate in the shape of a heart and numerous strawberries outlining it. Her husband is just so sweet and she is so thankful for him.
“Chris baby I love you,” Melanie said.
“I love you too Melanie,” Chris said. Chris walks over to Melanie and grabs her hand to stand her up and kisses her lips and then sits down in her chair and Melanie sits in his lap and Chris feeds her and Melanie enjoys every second of it. After everyone has eaten breakfast, Melanie gets Aden’s things ready for school while he puts on his shoes.
“Baby I will see you later. I should be home around 6 today,” Melanie said.
“Ok baby you have a good day. I love you,” Chris said.
“I love you too,” Melanie said. Melanie kisses Chris and then looks at Janiyah.
“Mommy go?,” Janiyah said.
“Yes baby girl mommy has to go to work. I will be back tonight ok?,” Melanie said.
“Ok. Miss you,” Janiyah said.
“I will miss you too Janiyah. Give me a kiss,” Melanie said. Melanie goes to Janiyah and leans down and Janiyah pecks Melanie’s lips and Melanie smiles and kisses her cheek. She then goes over to CJ and kisses his cheek multiple times. She kisses Chris again and then her and Aden leave. Melanie drops Aden off at school and then heads to her salon. Once she gets there, she unlocks her door and gets her supplies ready for the day. As she is getting ready, this woman walks into the store. When Melanie sees the woman, her heart stopped in her chest. The woman looks so much like Meagan, like they could be sisters for sure.
“Hello…..my name is Lori and I was just wondering if I could schedule an appointment? Possible sometime today?,” the woman said.
“Uh…..well….what would you like done?,” Melanie asked nicely.
“A touch up if possible? How much will it cost?”
“Um ok. Well it would cost $45 for the touch up. I can fit you in at 1 pm would that work for you?”
“Yes that sounds perfect actually…..would you mind if I brought my niece? She’s just a few months old, but I am watching her for my sister ….well actually I have watched her since birth since my sister disappeared back to Norfolk.” Melanie just stares at the woman in shock; she cannot believe this. Does Meagan have a baby? If so, who is the father? What if it is Justin’s baby? If it is Justin’s baby, then that means that the baby would technically be Janiyah’s cousin and Melanie is not sure how to handle that. But Melanie realizes that she cannot jump to conclusions.
“Is everything ok miss?,” Lori asked.
“Uh…yes. Yes I am sorry…..of course you can bring your niece I would not mind at all,” Melanie said.
“Ok. Thank you so much…..what’s your name?,” Lori asked.
“Uh….Melanie,” Melanie said.
“Well nice to meet you Melanie and thank you so much for helping me out. I will see you at one,” Lori said while smiling and holding out her hand. Melanie smiles and shakes Lori’s hand firmly and then Lori leaves. Melanie just hopes she didn’t do something stupid. She doesn’t know if Lori knows about her and Meagan’s history in Norfolk, but Melanie prays that Lori doesn’t know a thing. Melanie would like to know more though, so she is thinking maybe she should try to learn more about Lori and see if Meagan is her sister. Melanie does her first two clients and then she asks Chris to bring her lunch since she won’t be able to get lunch herself. Chris says that is fine since he took Janiyah and CJ to a nearby park. Chris gets to Melanie’s salon at around 12:30 with subway in one hand, holding CJ, and holding Janiyah’s hand as she walks.
“Hi mommy,” Janiyah said.
“Hey Janiyah,” Melanie said. Melanie picks her up and kisses her cheek. She then kisses CJ’s cheek and Chris’ lips. Chris sets down Melanie’s lunch on her station and then sits down in her chair. Melanie sits in a chair next to him holding Janiyah in her lap and starts to eat her food.
“Baby…..I need to tell you something,” Melanie said.
“Sure what is it babe?,” Chris asked.
“Well….this might sound crazy….but a woman came as soon as I opened up the shop and she looked just like Meagan, like they could be sisters…..and she asked me for an appointment and I told her that I could do her hair at 1 and she asked me if it would be ok if she brought her niece that is a few months old….she said she was watching her for her sister and has been since the baby was born since her sister disappeared back to Norfolk……I really think it’s Meagan’s sister.”
“Whoa babe are you serious?”
“Yes Chris I swear.”
“Wow…..Meagan does have a sister though…..was her name Lori?”
“Yes! Chris her name was Lori.”
“Oh wow….I can’t believe this…..she said Meagan was back in Norfolk?”
“Yes she did….but she could be lying…..I told her my name too babe, but she didn’t seem to know anything about me and Meagan’s history…..Chris…..we both know that Meagan and Justin were seeing each other…..what if he is the father?”
“You’re right babe…..he very well could be…..and if he is…..then that means that the baby is Janiyah’s cousin…..Melanie this is crazy!”
“I know it is babe…..did you ever meet Lori?”
“No….but I did see a few pictures that Meagan showed. She thought Aubrey might be interested in her, so she showed him pictures…..this was way before you even started working at the salon….she lived in Atlanta, at least that’s what Meagan said.”
“Wow….do you think if you saw her again, you would recognize her?”
“Of course baby….I will stay here until she comes.”
“Ok.”
“Babe don’t be scared though……Meagan always said her and Lori weren’t terribly close so I doubt she knows about you and Meagan’s history.” Melanie just nods her head and sighs and Chris holds his hand out and Melanie grabs it and Chris kisses her hand a few times and Melanie smiles and continues eating her lunch. At exactly 1 pm, Lori walks into the salon along with this baby girl in a car seat. Melanie stands up and cleans up and her station and then walks over to Lori and looks at the baby girl.
“Oh she is beautiful….what’s her name?,” Melanie said.
“Her name is Marli,” Lori said.
“Hi Marli, how are you sweetheart?,” Melanie said cutely while rubbing Marli’s hand. Marli smiles and kicks her legs.
“Oh she likes you,” Lori said while laughing.
“She’s precious….Lori this is my husband Chris and two of our kids, Janiyah and CJ,” Melanie said.
“Hey Lori, nice to meet you,” Chris said while standing up and walking over to Lori.
“Nice to meet you too Chris,” Lori said. Lori and Chris shake hands and Lori even shakes CJ’s and Janiyah’s hand and Janiyah just laughed at this.
“Oh Janiyah your hair is so pretty,” Lori said.
“Mommy did it!,” Janiyah said happily.
“Oh she did huh? Well I hope she can do my hair just as good,” Lori said. Janiyah just giggles and Melanie and Chris just laugh at her.
“Ok baby we will let you get back to work ok?,” Chris said.
“Ok baby. Thanks for lunch,” Melanie said. Chris grabs Melanie’s waist and hugs her tight and whispers in Melanie’s ear “It’s her.” Melanie looks at him and he gives her a look that says he is sure and then she pecks his lips. She hugs CJ and Janiyah and kisses their cheek and then Chris and the kids leave.
“Ok have a seat and we can get started,” Melanie said.
“Ok,” Lori said. Lori sets Marli’s car seat down on the floor next to the chair and then takes off her jacket and sits down and Melanie puts a cape over her and starts to do her hair. Marli is a very calm baby, and Lori rocked Marli’s car seat with her foot and Marli fell asleep instantly.
“So Lori, are you from Charlotte?,” Melanie asked.
“Yes, but I was living in Atlanta since I finished college here, but I decided to move back here maybe a year ago.”
“Oh ok….so you say Marli is your sister’s baby?”
“Yes Marli is my sister Meagan’s baby.” Melanie stood in shock after what Lori just said, but she quickly continued to start Lori’s touch up because she doesn’t want to look suspicious or anything.
“Oh ok…so after she gave birth, she just left? She was here in Charlotte?”
“She came here maybe two weeks or so after Marli was born so I and our parents could see her….and then she said she was going to the store to pick up something….and she never came back. Two weeks ago, she called and said she was back in Norfolk and she asked me to watch Marli while she was gone…..but I don’t think Meagan is coming back for her child….which is a shame because Marli is beautiful and it isn’t right she has to grow up without her mother.”
“You’re right….what about the dad? Marli’s dad is ok with Meagan just leaving the baby here with you and your parents?”
“I could care less about that bastard….excuse my language….he is in jail right now and has nothing to do with Marli….he didn’t even believe that Marli was his, but Meagan got a paternity test and the test proved that Marli is his child….it’s crazy he has the same name as our grandfather….Justin. I just find that funny sometimes,” Lori said while laughing a bit. Melanie’s heart skipped a beat when Lori said that Justin was the father of Meagan’s baby. That just proves the fact that Marli is Janiyah’s cousin and technically a part of Melanie and Chris’ family. Melanie has no clue how to feel about this. Should she tell Lori the truth? Does Lori even know about all the s**t that her sister put Melanie and Chris through? Melanie just sighs and decides not to tell Lori or anyone else other than Chris about any of this. The timing is just not right. But out of all the salons in Charlotte, North Carolina, how did Lori decide pick this one out, the one that Melanie works out. Melanie realizes that she has to keep her guard up and hopefully Lori doesn’t recognize Chris from anywhere. Meagan could have showed Lori pictures of Chris for all Melanie knows since Meagan did want to be with Chris for a while. All of this news is just very shocking to Melanie and right now, she doesn’t know what to do and that’s one of the things Melanie hates: not knowing what to do. Melanie is just hoping the difficult chapter she had with Meagan and Justin, is not about to have a new entry.

So glad that Melanie finally went back to pursue her passion for hairstyling; this relationship with her and Chris is TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE lol, and I mean that in a good way. I love how they support each other's goals and not let their egos effect the relationship and with the ups and downs they had early in their relationship and marriage I'm glad things are back to normal. From the beginning of the story to now Melanie has made a dramatic change and it took a good man to come into her life to do that. After that crap she went through with Justin she turned cold and bitter; once Chris came into the picture it was like the light finally shined on her and she found happiness with it. I like Aden's character, to me when I read his part it's like he's an adult rather than a young child how he properly talks to Melanie and Chris and it warms my heart seeing him show love and compassion for CJ and Janiyah even though they're not blood-related; same goes for how Chris and Melanie welcome Aden as their own. Now to comment on the last few posts, uh...Chris and Melanie do like to smash; I mean of course they're freaky but from my perspective it's like, "Dang, do they ever take time off to breathe?" lol
Now to comment, it's about due time to bring some type of drama back into the picture; not too much though, like I want to know what happened to Megan with her crazy ass and will she be making a comeback? Also what happened to Justin; did he finally give up on Melanie or is he just waiting for Chris to fck up so he could swoop in? Those are the questions that keeping going through my mind

About a month and some days pass and today, Monday, Melanie is opening up her salon again today! She has called back her clients and all of them were so happy that she will be doing hair again. Melanie is very excited and so is Chris, but the thing is, this will be the first time that Melanie will be away from the kids. She has never worked since CJ was born or since Aden came to live with her and Chris and she didn’t work most of the time with Janiyah either, so this will be very different for her. She has been stay at home mommy for a while and that is all she knows. Right now, Melanie is all dressed and ready to go to work and Chris is in the kitchen feeding Janiyah and CJ. Aden is also eating his breakfast.
“Ok Chris….CJ usually takes his nap at around 12 and Janiyah takes hers at around 1. CJ likes to hold your hand while he falls asleep and I am sure Janiyah would love it if you sang to her. Aden needs to be picked up at 3:10 ok?,” Melanie said.
“Yes baby I got this. Don’t worry. Our kids will be fine in daddy’s hands isn’t that right?,” Chris said while tickling Janiyah’s stomach.
“Daddy! No!,” Janiyah exclaimed. Chris smiles and kisses Janiyah all over her face and CJ talks some loud sounds and Chris kisses his face multiple times.
“Ok you’re right…I’m just nervous I guess. I haven’t worked in so long and I haven’t been away from my babies either,” Melanie said.
“Baby you are going to be fine. You love doing hair and it comes naturally to you. And the kids will be fine with me, you know that,” Chris said.
“I know I shouldn’t even be worried.”
“If you are going to miss the kids, I can bring them anytime you want me to so you can see them ok?”
“Oh baby you’re so sweet. Thank you.” Melanie goes over to Chris and gives him a nice kiss.
“Ok Chris I can take Aden to school,” Melanie said.
“Ok babe,” Chris said. Aden finishes up his breakfast and then gets his backpack ready to go. He gives Chris a hug and then kisses Janiyah’s and CJ’s cheek.
“Bye Aden!,” Janiyah said while waving.
“Bye Janiyah,” Aden said while waving back.
“Ok baby. I will see you later ok?,” Melanie said.
“Ok babe. I love you,” Chris said.
“I love you too,” Melanie said. Melanie pecks Chris’ lips and then kisses CJ’s and Janiyah’s cheek.
“Bye babies. Mommy is going to miss you,” Melanie said.

“Bye gorgeous. I will see you later,” Melanie said while waving back. Janiyah nods her head and Melanie gets her things and her and Aden leave. Melanie drives Aden to school and pulls up right in front of the school. Melanie gets out of the car and goes to the back seat where Aden is and opens the door and he gets out with his backpack. Melanie squats down in front of him and hugs him tight.
“You have a good day today baby. I love you,” Melanie said.
“I love you too Melanie….good luck on your first day back at work,” Aden said.
“Thank you sweetheart,” Melanie said. Melanie kisses his cheek multiple times and Aden kisses hers and then Melanie stands up and Aden walks towards the building. He finds Alicia, and Alicia smiles and waves at Melanie and Melanie smiles and waves back. Melanie watches them walk into the school and then she gets in her car and drives the twenty minutes to her salon. She has an appointment at 8:45 and the time now is only about 8:10. She gets out of her car and locks the car doors and then she takes out her key to the salon and opens it and turns on the lights and smiles. Owning her own salon has always been her dream and Melanie is just so happy right now. She sets down her purse and sets up for her first client. Melanie does two heads of hair by 1 pm and she is now taking her lunch break. She walks down the street to this Chinese restaurant and orders her food and then sits in the booth and calls Chris. He picks up on the third ring.
“Hey baby,” Chris said.
“Hey baby. How are you doing?,” Melanie asked.
“I am doing good baby and so are the kids. CJ and Janiyah are both down for their naps and I am just eating some lunch.”
“Aww ok I am about to eat lunch now too.”
“How has your first day been?”
“It’s been good I have done two clients already and I will do two more today.”
“That’s great baby. I want you to know that I am very proud of you. You’re doing what you love baby.”
“Thanks baby that means a lot to me.”
“What time do you think you will be home?”
“Probably around 7:30.”
“Ok I will make sure to have your plate ready by then.”
“Awww you’re so sweet baby. I love you,” Melanie said while making kissing noises into the phone.
“I love you more….sounds like CJ is up. I have to go ok?”
“Ok baby give my babies a kiss from mommy.”
“Ok I will. Love you,” Chris said while making kissing noises into the phone.
“I love you. Bye baby,” Melanie said.
“Bye gorgeous.” Melanie and Chris hang up and Melanie’s food comes and she eats her lunch. She misses the kids so much, but she knows they are just fine with Chris. After lunch, Melanie goes back to the salon and does two more clients. Today, she did four clients, and made $250 dollars which is pretty good for her first day back. Melanie sweeps, and cleans up her station and then she heads home and gets there at a little after 7:30 pm. She is exhausted right now and very hungry. She walks in the house and closes and locks the door behind her and slips off her shoes and goes into the living room and sees Chris and Janiyah sitting on the couch.
“Mommy!,” Janiyah exclaimed. Janiyah gets down from the couch and runs to Melanie and reaches up to her. Melanie smiles big and picks her up and kisses her all over her face.
“Hi Janiyah! I missed you gorgeous!,” Melanie said. Janiyah just smiles and kisses Melanie’s cheek multiple times.
“Baby girl you should be sleep,” Melanie said.
“She would not go to sleep until she saw mommy,” Chris said. Melanie just smiles and goes over to Chris and pecks his lips.
“Baby your plate is in the microwave all you have to do is heat it up….I will put Janiyah to sleep. CJ is already asleep and Aden is upstairs taking his bath and getting ready for bed,” Chris said.
“Thanks boo,” Melanie said. Melanie kisses Janiyah’s cheek and then hands her to Chris and he stands up and takes her upstairs. Melanie goes into the kitchen and opens the microwave and sees a plate of fried haddock, greens, rice and cornbread. She just smiles and closes the microwave and pushes the reheat button and then fixes a glass of water. Once her food is ready, she sits down and eats. After dinner, she puts her dishes in the dishwasher and then goes upstairs. She checks on all the kids and they are all sleeping peacefully. She kisses all of their cheeks and then goes into the bedroom and sees Chris sitting on the bed smiling.
“Baby dinner was amazing,” Melanie said.
“Thanks boo….I have a hot bath ready for you,” Chris said. He stands up and takes her hand and walks her to the bathroom and Melanie just smiles when she sees a bubble bath waiting for her.
“Oh baby this is amazing. Thank you so much,” Melanie said.
“You are welcome baby,” Chris said. Chris turns Melanie to face him and he pecks her lips. He then starts to unbuckle her blouse and Melanie smiles and unbuckles her pants. Once Melanie is completely undressed, she gets in the tub and then looks at Chris.

“It’s no problem. I know how tiring your first day must have been and I just want you to relax….but this isn’t just a one day deal. I will do this every day for you. Having dinner ready and this bath will be a routine,” Chris said.

Chris truly loves Melanie so much and he is so grateful that she is his wife.

She decides to make his favorite omelet which is cheddar cheese, bacon and broccoli. She also makes toast and sausage and orange juice to drink. Once it is ready, she puts it all on a tray. She then takes CJ and Janiyah upstairs and sets them in the bed with Chris and then she gets the tray and goes into the master bedroom and sees Chris sitting up in the bed with CJ and Janiyah in his arms. He just smiles big when he sees Melanie with the tray of food.

That what I'm talking bout, They showed each other just how much they missed one another. Melanies a lil freak in the sheets when it comes to Chris lol. So about another two weeks pass and Chris is coming home tonight!!! Melanie is beyond excited and so are the kids. So another week passes and today is Aden’s 7th birthday!!! Melanie will be taking Aden to see Christian after school today and Aden can’t wait to see his daddy. Chris said he will call today when he gets a chance and he also said he got Aden a special gift from LA that he will give to Aden once he comes home. Well right now, it’s about 6:30 am and Aden is getting ready for school. CJ is still sleeping and Melanie is getting Janiyah ready. Aden had a very good day at school and Alicia made him a personal card and gave him his favorite snacks as well a video game she thought he would like. Aden is so thankful for everything he got and he just can’t wait to see his daddy. Once Aden and Melanie get to the correctional facility, Melanie gets out all of Aden’s gifts that she bought and also a special gift from Christian and her and Aden go inside the correctional facility. Once they get there, they are checked by security and then they go into the visiting center. They sit down at a table and wait for Christian to come. Once the inmates start to walk out, Aden and Melanie look for Christian and once Christian comes out and sees Aden he smiles so big. Christian walks over to Aden and Melanie and looks at his son.
“Happy birthday baby boy,” Christian said. Aden just smiles and jumps into Christian’s arms and Christian picks him up and holds him tight and kisses his face multiple times. Christian sits down with Aden in his arms and holds him close.
“Baby boy you’re seven years old today…..I just can’t believe it. I remember the day you were born son,” Christian said. Aden just looks at Christian and smiles big and Christian kisses Aden’s forehead.
“Melanie got you a present from me. Would you like to open it?,” Christian said.
“Yes daddy,” Aden said. Christian smiles and looks at Melanie and Melanie smiles and she hands Aden his first gift. Aden smiles and opens it and gasps when he sees it. It’s a picture of Christian and Aden and it seems to be when Aden was first born and Christian is holding Aden and smiling big.
“This is the first time I held you son. The day you were born was the best day of my life and I mean that. Now I want you to have this picture, so you will have some sort of memory of me. I had Melanie put it in this nice frame for you. I hope you like it,” Christian said.
“I love it daddy thank you. And thank you Melanie,” Aden said. Aden hugs Christian tight and Christian holds his son tight.
“I got you something else too Aden,” Christian said. Aden smiles and he looks at Melanie and Melanie hands him another small gift and Aden opens it and sees a new video game for his Nintendo DS. It is one of Aden’s favorite series of games and he just hugs Christian tight.
“Daddy thank you so much for the gifts and thank you too Melanie. I really appreciate the both of them. But daddy the best gift is just seeing you,” Aden said.
“Awww thanks Aden that means a lot to me. I miss you so much son,” Christian said.
“I miss you too,” Aden said while tears ran down his cheeks.
“Hey no crying on your birthday ok?,” Christian said. Aden nods his head and Christian wipes his tears. So Aden just opens the rest of his gifts and loved every single thing he got from Melanie and his dad. He is so thankful for everything that he got, but he is just so happy that he got to see his dad.
“Daddy I love you so much. I hope you are doing ok in here,” Aden said.
“Yes baby boy I am doing alright….you’re what keeps me going. It gets very hard to live in here, but I do it for you….I stay strong for you and I need you to do the same for me,” Christian said.
“I know and I will….daddy we brought you something too.”
“Oh you did? Son you didn’t have to get me anything.”
“Christian we really wanted to,” Melanie said. Christian smiles and nods his head and Melanie goes into her purse and hands Christian a stack of pictures. Christian takes the stack and goes through them and just smiles so big. They are the family portraits Chris, Melanie and the kids took and Melanie assorted all of the pictures with Aden and decided to get copies for Christian.
“Oh wow. Son look at you! You look so handsome!,” Christian exclaimed.
“Thank you daddy,” Aden said happily. Christian looks through all the pictures and Melanie and Aden notices a few tears run down Christian’s cheek.
“Daddy it’s ok,” Aden said while wiping Christian’s face of his tears. Christian smiles a bit and nods his head.
“Aden….I am just so happy that you have Chris and Melanie to take care of you. They really love you and so do their kids. I can tell by these pictures,” Christian said.
“You are right daddy,” Aden said. Aden hugs Christian and Christian holds Aden tight.
“I love these pictures Aden. Thank you and Melanie for them. I am going to put them up in my cell. It really means a lot to me to have recent pictures of you. Since I can’t see you grow up in person, the pictures really help. I want pictures all throughout your life you hear me son?,” Christian said.
“Yes daddy I hear you and I will,” Aden said.
“Christian, me and Chris do not want to exclude you from Aden’s life at all. He is your son and only family and we understand that. We will be sure to inform you on anything that is going on in Aden’s life,” Melanie said.
“Thank you Melanie so much….I really appreciate you and Chris for taking such good care of my son. I can tell he is really happy with you and your family Melanie,” Christian said.
“He really is Christian and he is doing great. He is still excelling in school. All of the teachers just love him and say he is one of the brightest students in the class,” Melanie said.
“Well I am so glad to hear that Aden…I know Aden understands how important school is. Without school Aden, you won’t get very far in life,” Christian said.
“Yes daddy I know. You always taught me that,” Aden said. Christian just smiles and kisses Aden all over his face and Aden just laughs. Melanie just admires this; she really loves Aden and Christian’s relationship. Melanie is just so happy that Aden is here to see Christian; she knows how much Aden misses Christian. When Melanie saw Aden’s face light up when he saw Christian, just warmed Melanie’s heart and Melanie is just happy that Aden got his birthday wish; seeing his dad.
