Inside My Love.

I pulled up in front of the large building, adorned with dark LED lights. The parking lot was being swept by a young boy in Jordan's. He couldn't have been much older than me. I tightened the strap on my purse and walked towards the door apprehensively. It had come down to this. I didn't have another option. I knocked softly on the door at first... only for it not to be answered. The boy that was sweeping approached and hit the door loudly with his hand flat. I jumped, startled and looked at him. He tossed me a smirk and went back to sweeping. The door opened and he stood there, looking me up and down.

"...Who referred you?" He asked.

I put my hair behind my ear and parted my lips to say something but nothing came out. I shrugged. He studied me once more and looked me dead in the eye.

"Name?" He asked.

"Veronica... I go by Ronnie." I said softly.

He opened the door wider for me to come in, so I did. I hadn't ever been to one of these places, I'd only heard about them... saw them in movies. I looked around wondrously, and heard the giggles of females arriving and leaving, all of them carrying gym bags. I studied their curves and looked down at myself.

"What you here for..." He asked, dismissively. His eyes didn't dance in my direction, as he strolled casually beside me, checking out everything on the floor - making sure nothing was out of place.

He stopped suddenly and I did too.

"...I need a job," I said, searching his face.

He snickered. "So go to the mall and fill out applications, sweetheart. This isn't something for your resume,"

"I understand that," I said, shaking my head. "I wouldn't be here if I didn't need to be. I need a job," I said, pleading with my eyes.

He scratched his face, as he ruminated. He pointed to the bar. "You start there," He said, before he began to walk.

"I was hoping to dance!" I called after him.

He shook his head, "We'll see,"

I exhaled, and dropped my bag on the floor before the DJ put on some music. I looked around and sat down on one of the bar stools. Well... at least I had a job.

I can't believe Christina, well actually I can. Not too many females can handle being bestfriends with a guy and not allowing feelings to get involved. She would probably help herself out alot and Aubrey if she had his true interests at heart. Hopefully he calls Ronnie and talk to her cause it would suck for this to be ruined over a jealous female

i knew that christina was up to no good.. smh exes now best friends just dont go together.. Aubrey needs to look past how much he thinks he knows Christina and realize that she is still in love with him.. she is not lookin out for his best interest..Aubrey is so BLIND!! lol he needs to think for himself and stop believing all the BULL that Christina is feeding him..smh not a real friend RUN IT!

run itttt

run it

OMG!!! How Could SHe Do That....
Run IT....

@xchikita Couldn't have said that better myself. It's a damn shame. Aubrey I'm just going to say that I bet you went to Christina for everything in all the past relationships, and I bet Christina was the jump-off from the gecko. She's trippin about you being able to move on without her. She's trifling about the whole thing. Why leave someone you know you love, for someone you think you love. She can be there with you the whole time when you're on tour, she can be the first one to say congratulations when you get off that stage, but what she can't do is love you like Ronnie. And for you to know that you're still in love with her, but run off with Christina is a damn shame. I'm not giving up on #TeamDonnie, but I'm not sure if I want to stay with it. But I will. I'm just saying you could do better, and better is RONNIE. All I can think about is Marvin's Room. Lol because it's the exact same thing that's gonna happen only Ronnie and Aubrey switch positions. This is probably the longest comment I've ever typed.
Run it

awwwwwwwwwww, weak! That's ashame, Christina's jealous!

christina is being selfish & careless . she may have just ruined the best thing that ever happened to aubrey . no one ASKED him to play daddy , he CHOSE to . he NEEDS to talk to veronica , ASAP . he needs to stop letting christina get in his head . she's not doing what's best for aubrey , she's doing what's best for herself . veronica should've talked it out with aubrey instead of putting that wall back up . i really just want to punch christina in the face . she shouldn't even be considered a friend . she's a horrible friend . aubrey better talk to her when he gets home . they really DO need to talk . D was right .

Christina is so wrong for what she did like why did she say those things about Ronnie?? I can't believe Aubrey actually listened to Christina though. Ronnie should be your best friend Aubrey, not Christina. And Aubrey knows that Ronnie is a bit insecure when it comes to Christina, so he shouldn't even have Christina in his home talking all that mess honestly. Ugh! I feel so bad for Ronnie, she really feels like she is holding back Aubrey's career but if Aubrey doesn't feel that way and didn't directly tell Ronnie that himself, then what Christina has to say should not matter. Christina really pissed me off with this stunt. I hope Ronnie and Aubrey can work it out. RUN IT!!!!

Carmeeeeeen… You cant just end it like that!

Ronnie should try calling back again. Or show up where he is.

Aubrey needs to call her back.

And Christina needs to fall in a hole.

Aww damn Calvin's diggin Ms. Veronica huh, cant believe he asked her out wow. Damn sad about his wife, but he has a kid too least he can relate to Ronnie on the single parent issue. LMAO at Stacy talking bout she mastered the art of lip reading, she a trip. Walking in on Aubrey and Christina was kinda awkward with him having his hand on her knee. Christina just a hater, I think she's jealous of the relationship Ronnie and Aubrey had and knew Ronnie was a threat to her relationship with Aubrey. She talking bout "You met her in a strip club" Ronnie wasn't yo average stripper she had goals, the girl got a college degree. Aww it totally broke my heart that she left Aubrey, but I think after hearing that convo Aubrey had with Christina I'd have left too. Cayden seeing that ish between Aubrey and Christina made her feel some kind of way too. She may be young but she's no fool. Dee has a point maybe Ronnie did leave and hurt Aubrey before he hurt her, but can you blame her really tho. She's had a rough patch with guys. And hearing Aubrey talk about putting his life on hold for her, she prob didnt wanna make him feel tied down to her and her kid.
Im so f***ing pissed right now, I f***ing hate Christina, she truly see's Ronnie as a threat obviously. Had the nerve to erase that message from Ronnie, she's dead wrong. I hope Aubrey finds out the truth. Before its too late for them.. RUN IT!!!

Omg, I am still loving your stories...
Can I back up a tad and just say I hated Chase he wasn't a good friend nor lover, father...questionable? I hated Chase like he was never there for Riley and yet she still gave that man a baby? Smh, And I am still upset about that just so you know! Camron was so much better for her, even Will wit his sick self! She made Camron lose it! How you gone go through hell and high water to try and make someone a better them and then give up on them for some guy who was never really there for you, who used you? That's like M.L. King only walking half way and then turning around or Rosa Parks sitting in the middle of the bus then headng to the back, teachers don't accept half ass home work, parents don't accept half ass cleaned rooms or half ass made beds? She hurt Cam just like Ronnie is doing to Aubry with out meaning to!

Now I'm sorry as much wrong as Jay did he could still never do any worng in my eyes he just made being bad look so good! He made wrong look so right! The only time he really f***ed up was when he got mad at her for not telling him his mom had cancer, she asked her not to say anything! But still Jay and Shawn where awesome, i don't know what it was but you written them so well I could never hate them!

Now see if she run into Chris at the studio and they hook up wit out her talking to Aubry and them getting it together and parting with closer I will personally come through this computer and beat you to bad health if Ronnie damges or hurts Abury the way that b**** Riley f***ed up my baby Cam we are going to have some serious issues!

And last but not least this b**** here! She gone make me wanna beat the damn breaks off her! Like b**** get a life! And I'm telling you as a suggestion so i telling you shorty find a man of your own a man of your own! Don't mess wit her man cause i'm not going to be the only to want to break it to ya! You a low down girmy ass b**** for the s*** you did! You ain't worth the gum at the bottom of shoes! Do you need me to take your horse ass to a well and make you drink cause you looking mighty thristy! Or how bout a water park to quinch your thrist b****! Or do you prefer tap? Her over thristy ass! She need to man up and confess!

I love Cayden and her sixth sense! Aubry you stupid bruh! I ma need you to get your head out your ass and see what the f*** is up and how no good this b**** is you! Learn from someone who is quit naive herself...don't let her ruin things for you, you could end up losing something great! Not even as your girl but a great friend! Don't trust a hoe, never trust a hoe, Learned experince #348

I really need them to talk! Like for real!
P.s my distane for Riley is no offense it comes from your great and awesome powerful writting technique! I would also like to say I appreicate the fact that you don't over bare your stories wit drama and that their never dull and boring it's not flat line cookie cutter! And that the characters have depth! Love that there is always just enough to keep me coming back for more!
Sorry it's Long RUN IT!!!

I absolutely HATE Christina she just want Aubrey for herself and Ronnie need to open her eyes to that s***! Instead of leaving she should've confronted Aubrey's a** about what she heard and let him know she doesn't trust Christina's deceitful a**

*Forehead slap* damn it!!! They're both being crazy!...First of do NOT...I repeat do NOT confide in a woman who wants to be in your girlfriend's giving that jealous heaux gun fire to f*** your relationship up...which she did and is doing....Ronnie....there's no way you should have walked away that easily....fight....fight for the man who has been fighting for you since you've met it out...but don't run.

Drake dont fall for that girls crap!
Smh somebody get rid of Christina before I jump in the story and kick her ass lmao
Run it!!!

I stared at my phone on the other side of the room. D's words were still thick in the air, and as I tried my best to refute them...I couldn't. I went and snatched my phone off of the dresser before I called his number again. It rang for a while before voicemail picked up. I exhaled and sat there for a long time, longer than I thought because the voicemail ended and I had to call back.

...I didn't want to hurt you. I hope you know that. Things with you have been...beautiful and I'm lucky to have met you. It's hard to admit it but, I do miss you Aubrey and I'm sorry if I've seemed so cold and distant through all of this. I was just afraid that you wouldn't want this life with Cayden and I anymore. And that's so dumb! Right? I mean you gave me keys to your places and...have been nothing but kind to the both of us. When you come home...maybe we could talk about things and decide what we want out of this relationship...if there even is one anymore. I hope to hear from you... if I don't, I know why.

Christina listened to the message before she bit her lip, and deleted it, placing the phone back in Aubrey's jacket. He came into the dressing room with a smile, before he grabbed his phone and his heart dropped.

"Ronnie called twice?" He asked.

Christina rolled her eyes. She forgot to clear the call log.

"Did she leave a message?" She asked.

He nodded, and listened to the first one I'd left... which was complete silence. He shook his head.

"Yeah but she didn't say anything," He said softly. "I'll call her."

"Why..." Christina said, smiling over at him. "Let's just focus on this album. Put it all there." She rested her hands on his chest and smiled up at him.

Aubrey searched her face and nodded. He hadn't ever seen malice in her eyes and despite the things she said often, he felt Christina had his best interest at heart. His mother had always called him naive but, he was sure about Christina. She was his best friend, after all.

Ronnie. If this is about Christina being there, I'm sorry. Nothing is going on between us, I wish you'd believe me. I miss you and I miss Cayden and I wish you'd call me back. It's been too long.

That was a week ago, after missed call 45. On day 23 I decided to finally call. It went to voicemail after ringing twice. He'd finally given up.

It's me. I don't want you to call, or come over. Don't feel obligated to be here any longer. Make music and heal hearts. That's your calling. I won't hold you back any longer.

Aubrey pulled the phone away from his ear, his throat lodged with tears. He saved the message and stared at his phone for a long time. It had almost been a month since Veronica and Cayden left his apartment. For 23 days, he'd been running those last moments over in his head trying to figure out why she hadn't called or...tried to see him. The only thing he remembered was the kiss before she left... it felt like a kiss goodbye. Christina walked into his hotel room.

"Hey. We've gotta head over to 106 soon," She said.

He nodded and glanced over his shoulder when she noticed the look on his face. She sighed.

"I thought you were over it," She said.

"Eh," He started, before he shook his head. "She called." He said, before he stood up and grabbed his bottle of water from the nightstand.

"And?" She asked.

"Says she didn't want me to feel obligated to be with her. I never...I never complained about any of it to her. How could she think that I didn't wanna be there with her?" He asked.

"You didn't wanna be, Aubrey." Christina said.

"I did! That's why I took time off. But whatever. It's over I guess." He said, before he tossed his hood over his head and left the hotel room.

Back home, D looked over at me as we watched Desperate Housewives on Netflix.

"You haven't talked about it," She said.

"I'm not going to," I responded softly.

"The only way to heal," She said.

"I'm healed. You know it isn't hard for me," I responded, looking over at her.

D paused the show and put her hand over mine, "What happened?" She asked.

I shrugged, "Heard him talking with his best friend and she...alluded to the fact that he'd called her saying that he missed music." I said.

"So...what does that have to do with you?" She asked.

"I was the reason he took a break...I didn't wanna stand between him and his music anymore. He should be free to do what he wants. I don't want him to think that I feel neglected, or anything like that. I didn't want him to resent Cayden and I eventually. I did this for him. He would've left us anyway...once he realized what he wanted," I said.

"You've rationalized this to make it seem like you did this for him but you did it for you, Ronnie. You were being selfish," She said.

"How?! I'm being selfish?" I asked, my voice raised. "By breaking up with Aubrey so that he can live his life!"

"No, by breaking with Aubrey and hurting him before he hurts you!" She spat back.

I shut my mouth tight and shook my head, "That...wasn't what I wanted to do."

"Maybe not....but you did," D said softly.

"Christina said we wouldn't have a future. She's seen him with girls before. I have Cayden to think about. I don't...I don't know." I said softly.

"What are you gonna do?" She asked.

I shook my head, "Nothing. I've already called him and said what I needed to say."

"Did you apologize?" D asked.

"No! For what?" I asked.

"For walking out on a man who was willing to fight with you..." D said softly. "He gave you keys to his houses, Veronica! You can't be that insecure, because of what Christina said! How did he make you FEEL? Huh? How did he make Cayden FEEL? You acted impulsively, then you've spent time coming up with reasons to justify what you did and I don't agree with this choice you've made."

"You don't have to," I said.

"You're so stubborn... and I rarely see it, but right now it's like I'm talking to a brick wall." She said.

I grabbed the remote and pressed play. D stood up and grabbed her purse before she left the apartment.

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Christina whhyyyyyy she just played that whole situation
Off of the fact that she knows Ronnie has insecurities!

Ronnie she's a Good one I wouldn't have walked away forget letting them have their time
When I'm around it becomes our time
She have made it clear that she wasn't just any woman to him

Aubrey friend or no friend no one should be allowed to down play
Your lady or y'all relationship

Run it

That b**** brave as hell saying that s***. I woulda put her trifling ass in check right then
Run it!!!

I held Cayden's hand, as we walked toward Aubrey's apartment. She was a ball of energy today, and as I dug in my purse for my keys, she was spinning in circles. I opened the door to find Christina on the couch, with Aubrey next to her. His hand on her knee. He jumped away from her. I put the keys in the dish, my eyes on the floor now.

"Hey love. Hey Buttons," He said, standing up and walking toward the two of us awkwardly.

I smiled faintly and looked past him at Christina. Cayden stood by me, holding my leg, and didn't look up at Aubrey. There was that sixth sense again... Cayden could always sense when something was wrong.

"Buttons, you mad at me?" He asked, kneeling down and looking her in the face.

He rested his hands on her arms. She shook her head and took off her coat, handing it to me, before she yelled October's name and scurried off to find him. He stood back up and kissed my cheek.

"I wasn't expecting to see y'all today," He said, smiling.

"Clearly," I responded. "I guess I'll...hang out with Cayden and October. Let you two have your time," I said, before I glanced at Christina and walked off down the hall.

I got to the middle of the hall...where I was still within earshot, and listened silently.

"Well...that wasn't weird." Christina said.

"I'm...sorry. Ronnie still has her suspicions about you and... I honestly don't know what was up with Cayden. She's never like that," He said.

"Sure. Both of them hate me and we've never even...talked really." She said. "I'd like to know them...if you plan on making them integral parts of your life."

"Fair enough," He said.

"I don't want you with just anybody... I've said that before." She said.

There was silence before she started to talk again. "So...about my proposition." She said.

"...Chris, I don't know. What you're going through sucks, and you know I love you but she won't be cool with it," He said.

"Well clearly your priorities are in order. You don't honestly think that she'll be here after me, do you?" She asked.

He didn't responded and she laughed a little, "You're like this with every girl you meet! It's sickening. You lose yourself in them."

"That's not true! Maybe before, but not now. I know what I want, Chris." He said.

"You met her in a strip club! How is she any different from the others? There was no future for the others and who was there when it all came tumbling down?" She asked.

"You," He responded.

"And I'll be here after this one. It's inevitable, Aubrey. Your world and her world...they don't work." She said.

"They can work." He said.

"They can't. I thought we came to this conclusion when you called me last week. You miss music, Aubrey! You miss music and you miss your life. You can't play daddy forever," Christina said.

That one stung. My face burned with emotion and I wondered if I should continue to listen.

"I love Veronica." He said. "And I love Cayden. I just...can't be here and there, you know? But if I leave them now, and go back to my music...when it's all said and done, who will I have to come home to?"

"Me," She said. "If Ronnie can't love you from a distance, while you still pursue your dreams then she isn't the one for you."

I turned and walked away...afraid of what I would hear next. I found October and Cayden finally and sat down on the floor with them. After about 20 minutes, I heard the door close and Aubrey walking down the hall. He came in the room with a smile on his face and sat down next to me. I wrapped my arms around him and stared blankly out in front of me. I looked at him finally.

"Hey...I forgot that I was supposed to meet with Stacy and D for dinner, so I'm gonna go there now." I said, standing up.

Aubrey nodded and stood up. Cayden grabbed my hand and we walked to the door where I put on my shoes and grabbed my jacket. Cayden waved goodbye to Aubrey and I pressed my lips against his, holding them there. He pulled back and stroked my cheek, looking me in the eye.

"I'll see you tomorrow," He said.

"Bye Aubrey." I responded, leaving the apartment.

When we left, Cayden looked up at me as we walked to the car.

"Mommy did you lie about dinner?" She asked.

I nodded and opened the door for her to get in, "Yeah I did," I said softly.

I walked into the office and smiled at Calvin as he passed, reading a file. He let his eyes follow me to my desk, before he closed his file and did a U-turn, walking toward my desk.

"How did it go?" He asked.

I smiled up at him, "Well. I got what I needed." I said softly.

"Good to hear," He said, eyeing a photograph on my desk. "Is that her?" He asked, picking up the picture of Cayden.

Stacy stood up to "make copies" and blushed at me before she scurried past. He sat the photo back down and smiled.

"I've got a daughter too," He said.

"Really? How old?" I asked.

"She's 11. Product of my marriage." He said, looking around the office.

" long have you been with your wife?" I asked.

"She passed...about a year ago. Cancer." He said softly, his hands in his pockets.

"I'm sorry to hear that," I said.

"Cancer's a weird thing, you know? When they're gone, there's no more pain for them but...seems like it all transfers to you." He said.

I hadn't ever really lost someone, so I couldn't understand what that must've felt like.

"So dinner," He said softly.

I blushed, "I couldn't," I said, shaking my head.

"And why not?" He asked.

"Conflict of interest." I said, nodding. "I punch numbers, you sign my paycheck. Things will get kind of sticky." I said.

He smiled, "I'm not really a fan of sticky." He said.

"Neither am I." I responded. "I'm attached, too."

He raised his eyebrows, "Ah... lucky guy." He said, before he walked off.

I exhaled and turned around in my chair, watching him leave. Stacy came back with her jaw dropped.

"Are you kidding? He invited you to dinner!" She said.

"How did you hear that? We were practically whispering." I said.

"Oh I didn't hear a damn thing. I mastered lip reading in the 9th grade," Stacy responded, walking to her desk.

If y'all have read my other stories, I'm the queen of dysfunctional relationships... Chase & Riley. Selena & Jay. I love Aubrey and Ronnie, so I'm trying reeeeeeeeeally hard not to make things bad with them. But, that would be no fun haha. We'll see what I come up with.

Run it!

I love Aubrey and ronnie together!!! They are so perfect. I'm kinda waiting for the bomb to drop. It feels too perfect at times, but brey is good for her. He's helping her realize her dreams again. Cayden is just adorable. Lol I love her. Carter was a f***ing idiot. I hope he gets it together this time around.

Awww, they're so cute! Almost seem a little too perfect, it's like i'm just waiting on something to happen lol...nah but really, I like that they're open with each other and they're actually getting to spend time with each other right now. Him giving her those keys was a big step, I hope they realize the true meaning behind that. And i'm with Cayden, they need marriage and a baby lol

Run It!

I love how Aubrey wants to take care of her and Cayden, but at the same time he has to understand that she's been taking care of her and Cayden for a very long time now and it's hard to just hand somebody your well being and trust them to do right by you and your kid. I also agree with the fact that she should find a way to's what she loves to do....Cayden is so cute...she wants a little brother or sister lol...that'd be one cute kid.

Cayden is too funny! Aubrey have to see where she's coming from though because if they break up them she'll be stuck out
