Simply Beautiful

I held a firm grip on the can of gold paint and began to move my wrist in swift upward motions repeatedly until one of the areas of my new piece was completed to my satisfaction. It had been in my head for days. Forming itself, putting its own pieces together. It took me about two hours to get it out on paper. It was a beautiful work of art. One of my favorites.

Al Green was blasting through my earphones. I always listened to music while I created something, it kept me from getting easily distracted, I flowed with the rhythm of the music and that was sure to get me through the entire process. I grinned as I finished up the last bit of it. I released a breath and stood back, removing the scarf that I used to avoid inhaling the fumes, from around my face and allowed the chilly fall day's fresh air to finally hit my face after two hours.

The longer I stared at it the more I fell in love with it. It felt like I had created it for a reason that remained unknown. Nonetheless its perfect, and I can feel myself becoming inspired again. I took a look to my left at some other artist's painting that had caught my eye when I got here. It was breathtaking..alluring. It was something surprisingly similar to what I had came here to paint today. I had to stop and marvel at it, like I did every other day with their art. Whoever 'Breezy' is, he is surely talented. I would have to keep my eye out for him or her. For as long as I've been coming here I have never seen who the spot beside mine belonged to. All I knew was that everyday I was here, another one of their stunning murals were too.

I decided to do something daring today and join my art with his. Though I'm most likely gonna get told off for crossing some lines doing so, who would I be not to take a risk? I'm an artist, its what I do on a daily basis.

"Simply beautiful.." I said to nothing in particular.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and snapped a quick picture of it. I then closed the camera application in my iPhone and glanced at the time. It read, 9:45AM. I had a solid 45 minutes to get to work. I bent over and hastily gathered all of the paint cans, tossing them into my duffel bag, then grabbed my backpack that contained my work clothes and cleared out from the alley.

"Be back later" i said to the walls as i strolled by them. All of a sudden having a strange gut feeling that today would be one to remember.

I lay comfortably on the floor in the living room playing with Alayah. She was growing like weeds, everyday there was something new going on with her. She was full of energy and smiles, just like her father. She was able to hold her head up and lay on her tummy and play with all of her toys now, it made her even more enjoyable.

"Hi!" I smiled removing my face from the palm of my hands trying to surprise her. She smiled showing off her healthy gums, gripping the small, orange monkey in her tiny hand, a gift from her Aunt Brooke. I had no choice but to smile. I continued to play that game with her until l grew tired of it. Turning onto my stomach like her, I faced her and watched her drool all over her bib. Chuckling, I rose it to her mouth and wiped away all of the saliva living around her chin.

"Yucky." I said making a mock face of disgust. Alayah only smiled. I noted the dimples that she had taken from Chris, along with his nose and laugh lines.

"Just like your daddy." I grinned in her face crawling over to place tiny pecks on her face. She cooed and smiled with me.

I wondered how I got so lucky.

Just then the sound of the front door opening and closing caught my attention and I moved my eyes from Alayah, who was too busy with her toy to notice. Chris made his way through the house, removing his hat and jacket on the way. His smile was always brighter whenever Alayah was in the room.

"Mamas!" He called out to her. We watched her reaction and saw that she tried to turn her head to him with difficulty. It was hilarious and I pointed to her making sure Chris saw what she was doing and sure enough he was watching, a big grin on his face.

"Look she trynna.." He spoke moving towards us in the living room. I laughed when her attempts to turn to her father failed.

"She trynna find me." Laughed Chris as he dropped himself to the floor, releasing his breath. He laid himself on the opposite side of Alayah on his back with his hands resting on his chest.

"What's good mommy?" He smirked. I grinned happily and waved to him.

"Hanging out. How was work?" I asked interested in his day. He grabbed Alayah from over his head and brought her to rest on his stomach where she lay her head comfortably on his chest. He rubbed her back and kicked off his shoes at the same time, getting comfortable.

"It was cool. B's chair broke right up under her as--behind. She fell to the ground hard as heck, it was hilarious!" He laughed remembering that Alayah was in the room. I had to join in.

"That sucks! Was she with a client at the time?" I asked.

"Nahh thank God!" He said. I exhaled in relief and moved my arms to rest underneath my head.

The sounds of Alayah sucking on her fist was the current soundtrack in the room.

"Where's Indie?" Asked Chris realizing he didn't get a greeting at the door when he walked in like he always did from Indigo.

"Justin came over and took her for the day. He had the day off." I answered. Chris' mouth shaped into an "o".

"You wanna go to the mall of somethin'? I kind of don't wanna be indoors today. It's nice out." Proposed Chris. I nearly jumped at the question. I was dying to leave the house today, but wanted to wait for him to come home.

"Please, can we? I haven't been to a mall in forever." I smiled pressing my hands together in joy. Chris chuckled at my eagerness.

"Weirdo. Come on, you goin' like that right?" He asked pointing to my clothes as he stood up with Alayah in his arms. She was oblivious to everything happening in that moment.

"Yeah, I'm good right?" I asked making sure. Chris nodded.

"Yeah you look chill, it's just the mall anyhow. Let's bounce." He said heading to the door where Alayah's carseat and baby bag lay next to it.

"Wait I gotta grab my wallet." I said about to leave.

"Nah leave it, it's cool I got you." Said Chris shaking his head no and turning around. I smirked and went over to him to kiss his cheek quickly before shoving on my shoes.

Chris buckled Alayah into her carseat and raised it up into his side before opening the front door and leaving the house, leaving me to lock up behind us.

I walked down to the driveway behind him and got into the passenger seat of his range rover. I turned in my seat to watch him buckle Alayah's seatbelt and make sure she was comfortable.

She was his pride and joy. He was always so careful with her.

"She ain't hungry or nothin'?" He asked without looking as he secured the last belt around her small body.

"Nah she's good, I fed her a little before you came home. She'll fall asleep soon." I told him and smiled at Alayah while Chris rounded the car.

"Did you eat?" I asked.

"Nah, imma eat at the mall." He answered reversing out of the driveway.

"Me too." I seconded, pulling on my seatbelt.

"Aight." Said Chris as he drove off down the street.

Tyson's POV

I was about to exit the room behind everyone else who had made their way down the hall towards the chapel, but stopped once I couldn't feel Mackenzie's energy behind me.

I looked back to find the terrified look on her face as she clutched the train of her dress and her bouquet of flowers. Worry and concern spread across my features, I sped over to her and rested my hands on her shoulders.

She didn't move a muscle even then. I traced her body looking for a sign.

"Talk to me Kenz.." I spoke softly. She breathed and moved her eyes up to mine.

"I'm...I'm getting married." She stuttered. I released the breath I was holding.

"Not if you don't move from this spot you aren't honey." I chuckled pulling her forward but she pulled back.

"Wait, what if...." She trailed off. I ushered for her to continue.

"Tyson tell me right now if I'm making a mistake...please tell me the truth." She told me wide eyed. I looked over her face sympathy in my eyes.

" are NOT making a mistake marrying Michael today, because when I look into your eyes, all I see is the love you hold for him..same goes for him. I know this is right. I could feel it." I told her everything she needed to hear. Seeming to lighten up a little she nodded.

"So go and marry the man waiting for you at the alter." I smiled, but it faltered just as hers did.

So close.

"I...I don't have anyone to walk me down the aisle..." She looked as if she were going to cry but I held up a finger to her face telling her not to.

"You sure about that?" I asked her, a sly smile playing at my lips. She looked confused but shook her head and sniffed.

"Okay. Just let me blow my nose. I will not get married with boogers in my nose." She chuckled earning a soft laugh from me. When she turned her back I quickly pulled out my phone from my bra and shot a text to Chris, who by now should be at the alter, a step down from Michael.

meet mack at the doors. walk her down the aisle..please, she needs you.

I tapped my foot under my dress waiting for Chris to reply. Mackenzie was still blowing her nose when my phone vibrated in my hand.

i'm already there waiting for her. i didn't think anyone else was gonna be here for her.

I thanked God for Chris and stuffed my phone back into my bra when Mackenzie was at my side again ready to go. I gasped.

"Wait! Picture." I grinned as she chuckled. I pulled out my phone from my bra and immediately opened the camera app.

"Ty we're gonna be late!" She smiled. I shook my head.

"I need at least three or four. Okay, pose." I smiled aiming the camera at her. Moving around the room trying to get different angles, I snapped pictures of Mackenzie in her beautiful glow.

I watched as the wedding planner came into the room and traveled behind her to the back of her wedding gown and lifted up her train and followed her out of the door before I could snap another picture. Mackenzie laughed the whole way out, leaving me there to look over the pictures one by one.

The lone tear slid down my cheek and the smile came to my face as I fell in love with the last photo of the beautiful bride.

My sister was getting married..

Chris' POV

"So Chris how's fatherhood treatin' ya?" Asked Michael as he fixed played with his bow tie. I chuckled and grinned wide.

"It's beautiful man, I can't picture my life without Lay in it. She is everything to me." I shook my head.

"I'll be sure to tell Ty that." He chuckled. I through him a dry laugh and tied the laces on my left shoe.

"You nervous man?" I asked him, looking up momentarily.

"Nah. I know this is what I want. Mackenzie is who I want this with, forever." Said Michael. I smirked happy with his answer.

"Aight." I answered.

I was happy for him, Michael is a good friend to me and to Tyson. He embraced everyone the moment he got here and I respect him highly for that. I knew I didn't have to worry about Mackenzie if she had him around.

A part of me grew envious at the fact that I was attending someone else's wedding and not my own. I knew it was in the near future, but not sure just how near. Tyson and I were happier than ever right now, and I know in my heart that she does want to marry me, but I also knew that the timing was off. Alayah was only just getting settled into this world and I didn't want to overwhelm Tyson with a wedding right now. I loved her enough to wait and keep her happy in the meantime.

So, making her my wife would have to wait for just a little while longer.

"When can I expect to be at your wedding?" Questioned Michael with a sly smile. I chuckled.

"Soon." I answered simply.

"Dawg, how the f*** you tie these ties man?" Asked a frustrated Jesse as he flipped his tie over his fist trying to figure out how to put it on. I eyed him with a stupid look and stood to my feet to help him with it.

"What kind of grown ass man, don't know how to tie his own tie yet? You twenty-six or turning six?" I teased.

"Man, I ain't no punk that's for sure. I don't do ties and dress clothes and Brooke don't mind that." Spoke Jesse as he defended himself earning laughter from all of the men in the room.

"Jay, tell this nigga he need to know this s***." I laughed finishing tying Jesse's tie and walking over to one of the full length mirrors. Jeremiah chuckled.

"Don't say s*** Jay." Spat Jesse.

"I'm sorry dawg, but Breezy's right I should know that s***. It's crucial." Laughed Jeremiah. Justin, Michael and I also joined in.

"It's true man, right now your game just dropped like five points. I can see the battery dyin' homie." Laughed Justin.

"What y'all need to be doin' in havin' some damn respect in the house of the Lord. Swearin' and whatnot. Y'all ain't grown." Countered Jesse, having a good point. If my mother had heard this conversation she would have buried me alive in beatings.

"My bad, God.." I apologized looking up at the ceiling. Michael laughed and straightened himself out looking in the mirror.

"We gotta get out there, best man." He said looking me in the eye. I smirked slapping his shoulder.

I was truly honored to be Michael's best man, even though we hadn't known each other for that long, he and I had grown close over time and the fact that he cared for my family as if it were his own was just a bonus. He had no family, yet he was a brother to me and happy to think of him that way, and I owed him a lot.

"Leggo." I grinned, ready to watch my sister get married.

The picture of Tyson in a wedding dress, embedded in my mind.

2 Weeks Later..

"You know my love for you runs deep when you can get me into a dress and heels almost two months after I gave birth to my first child." I muttered into the large dressing room of the church where Mackenzie, Brooke, Paige and Jessica got ready for Mackenzie and Michael's wedding. I buckled the last strap of my silver studded heels before standing up from my seat and letting my long blush pink maid of honor gown fall around my legs and feet. I eyed the bridesmaids in the room making sure everyone was on point. Brooke, Paige and Jessica sat comfortably, waiting for their cue.

"All of our love runs deep. I hate this s***." Followed Paige quietly, though everyone including the bride could hear her. Brooke and Jessica giggled.

"You two quit your b****ing before I cut the both of you and then cut you out of my wedding." Threatened Mackenzie with a death glare as she watched us through the mirror while my aunt did her hair.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones Mackenzie.." I teased as the room echoed with chuckles.

"Skinny white b**** came to play. Sayin' words like "cut"." Laughed Paige and everyone else. Mackenzie rolled her eyes and continued texting on her phone.

"I'm gonna have to put hands on all of you if y'all don't stop cussing in church. Thanks." Warned my Aunt Cameron. Remembering my manners, I caught myself and mentally asked God for forgiveness.

"Who are you texting?" Asked Brooke as she sat patiently waiting. The door opened and Mackenzie went to hide herself thinking it was the groom, but froze in shock when she realized that it was only her mother. The light in her eyes seemed to brighten more than ever before.

"Her." Whispered Mackenzie.

Breanna stood there in awe at the appearance of her twenty five year old daughter who was about to be married to the love of her life. I couldn't help but tear up at the sight.

She looked much happier.

I was glad to see her again under much better circumstances, remembering the last time we saw each other was when I was in the hospital and her daughter was in a coma. I was happy that we would finally be able to smile together for once after such a long time.

"Hi, Mommy." Cried Mackenzie, she was sure not to let the tears spill over because of her makeup. Her mother crashed into her with a big hug and kiss and tears of joy. It was beautiful to watch.

I could tell that having her mother here today meant the universe to Mackenzie. She and her mother had definitely grown apart after the death of Kelly and she wanted nothing more than to be there for her and rebuild their relationship.

"Hi, baby. God, you look so beautiful I--Kelly and your father would have loved to see you right now..they would have been so proud." Cried Breanna as she pulled out of the hug to give Mackenzie a once over. She blushed and wiped away her mothers tears before taking her seat back in the chair to finish her hair.

Breanna came over to me and the rest of the girls to greet us with hugs and kisses. She eyed me for a moment with a loving smile on her face.

"He would have been proud of you too, Kelly I mean. Congratulations on your first child, honey." She whispered loud enough for only me to hear. I smiled looking into her green, blue eyes that matched her children's. It was like Kelly was looking right back at me.

"Okay baby girl, you're good to go. I gotta go join Ty's mother in the crowd. Mwuah! You're beautiful. See you all soon" Said my aunt as she put away the curling iron and wiped her sweaty hands in a paper towel, breaking the moment between Breanna and I as she exited the room in a hurry.

Mackenzie melted at the sight of herself in the full length mirror. I smiled wanting to cry, but held it in.

"You're beautiful.." Said her mother. Mackenzie teared up.

"No no no! Don't cry, you're makeup stupid!" Yelled Brooke from behind us causing all of us to laugh.

"Thank you guys so much, for everything, for being here..I love you all more than words can say." She express with a thick voice full with emotion.

"We love you too, beautiful." Yelled Jessica as she followed by everyone else went to give Mackenzie a hug.

Pulling away from one another we all went to exit the room ready to take our places in the wedding.

Finally...done with the hurt and pain and receiving love and happiness.

I hope this story isn't coming to an end soon.

Run it!

Awwwwwwwwwww, RUN IT!

1 Month Later..

My eyes peeled open as the sun streamed through the curtains of the bedroom. I frowned for a moment before slowly pushing myself up into a sitting position. I glanced at the time and read 12:37PM. My eyes filled with confusion wondering why I slept in so late. Looking over to my left I saw that Chris' side was empty. I walked tiredly out of the bedroom and coming around the front of the bed I saw Indigo, sleeping there.

"Indie..wake up mama." She hopped awake at the sound of my voice and barked softly nuzzling my leg with her nose.

"Come with me." I smiled and walked out of the room towards Alayah's nursery. I was about to walk in when the sight ahead of me stopped me dead in my tracks. Chris stood there with Alayah in his arms, rocking her softly back and forth. She cooed softly into the room as she was comforted by her father.

"You gon' fall sleep for daddy? Hmm? So he could go fix mommy some breakfast?..yeah?" He smiled softly. I grinned harder when I saw Alayah's eyes droop closed and she fell asleep.

"That's my baby.." He praised her rocking on his feet. Silence fell over the room as I stood there unnoticed with a smile on my face and Indigo behind me. I crossed my arms over my chest leaning my head on the door frame.

"What's good Mommy?" Asked Chris keeping his eyes on the tiny bundle of beauty he currently cradled.

"Just woke up." I answered groggily before walking into the room as he put Alayah to rest in her crib. A comfortable silence passed through the room.

"..Why she so white still?" He suddenly asked me. I laughed softly.

"She'll take her color soon, man. What kind of question is that?" I asked between my laughter. Chris only smiled innocently and shrugged.

"I'm just sayin'. She lookin' a lil' like Mike--ow!--"

"Shh! Shut up before you wake her!" I hissed after pinching his arm following his remark about Alayah possibly belonging to Michael.

"She has your everything, stupid." I smiled looking down at my baby.

"Nahh..she got your eyes." He grinned passing a finger down her cheeks. He couldn't go five minutes without showing her affection.

"She's only been here a month and already she's a daddy's girl. I feel betrayed." I shook my head. Chris chuckled and rubbed his eyes as he leaned his arms on the ledge of our daughters crib. I reached up and rubbed his temple with the back of my hand.

"You need sleep.." I whispered. He shut his eyes, I could tell he loved when I did that.

"After. Come on, lemme go finish making you some breakfast." He said pulling me along with him out of the door. We walked hand in hand down the stairs and into the kitchen with Indigo right behind us.

We were currently living in Chris' house, since it was a better living environment for all of us including Alayah. We decided to keep the condo as well, just in case. I enjoyed living here nonetheless, the house was so spacious and relaxing with positive vibes and love filling it up to capacity.

Chris sat me down at the kitchen island. I chuckled when he began to mix the bowl of pancake mix on top of the counter. Alayah must have interrupted him when he started cooking. He poured some into the hot pot.

"So, Mack hit me up this morning. She said y'all women have to report to some hotel room that I forgot the name of--"

"Four Seasons." I helped him.

"For some event or somethin' that I can't remember--"

"Her bachelorette party." I spoke.

"Yeah..on the..I forgot--"

"The eighteenth. Goodness." I finished, giving Chris a mild look of concern. He wreaked of exhaustion. I shook my head lightly, wondering why he wouldn't just give in to the sleep that so desperately tried to take him.

"Chris. Go. To. Your. Bed. You can't even remember things now. The hell?" I giggled. He smacked his lips and whipped the pancake mix in the silver bowl.

"Eff you, Mags. Just let me cook you breakfast and then I'll go." He yawned earning another head shake from me.

"I love you for taking care of me, but I don't want you falling on your ass cause you're sleep deprived. That's all." I said.

"As long as you love me." He grinned. My face twisted up in mock disgust.

"Corny bastard." I giggled with him.

"Yeah whatever. Come get this pancake, b****." He spoke with his back facing me as he flipped the pancake from the pot and into the empty plate next to him.

I rolled my eyes playfully and walked over to him and my food.

Secretly loving the fact that he made me breakfast every morning..

"Okay Tyson I'm gonna count backwards from three. When I say push I'm gonna get you to tuck your chin in and push as hard as you can until I tell you to stop okay babe?" Prepped Sharon as she and the other nurses sat and stood at the foot of the hospital bed in between my spread legs.

"O-okay-okay." I teared, the nerves creating a wreck inside of me. Chris stood right by my side holding my left hand tight while my mother stood on the other side of me holding my right. Chris planted tiny kisses all over my face trying to calm me down and for the most part it was working, but there were so many worries on my mind.

"I'm right here Mags, right here." He whispered sweetly into my ear. He was a nervous wreck as well, this pregnancy wasn't easy and we both feared that something would go horribly wrong out of nowhere.

"Okay Ty. Three.." I prepared myself as she counted down. taking deep breaths.

"!" Coached Sharon. Tucking my chin in, I pushed with all of my might. The pain that rippled through me was ridiculous. I cried out into the room and squeezed my supporters hands with all of my strength.

"And stop! Good job baby girl. You're doing great. Chris, I'm gonna need you and Stacy to switch, I need a stronger hold for Ty's leg here. Can you handle that?" Chris swallowed and nodded as he kissed my lips quickly before switching positions with one of the nurses.

"Do NOT look down there Chris! I don't wanna traumatize you!" I cried out through the pain as Alayah lay in my birth canal. I heard a ripple effect of laughter pass throughout the room.

"Aight baby." I could hear the smile in his voice as he answered.

"Okay Ty, one..two..three..push!" Coached Sharon. I pushed down as hard as I could, careful not to hurt myself. I could feel her moving within me and out of me.

"She's crowning!" Said Sharon. I let her words fuel me with energy until she told me to stop pushing. I tried hard to catch my breath when I began to feel light headed. The nurse beside me, Stacy, rushed to grab me an oxygen mask and placed it around my head and over my mouth.

"Come on baby, stay conscious. She almost here baby." Reassured Chris, gently squeezing my ankle where he held my foot for support. I inhaled and exhaled as calmly as I could and focused solely on the voice that belonged to Sharon.

"Okay one..two..three..push! Push! Push!" She chanted.

"And Stop! I see shoulders, just a little more Ty you're almost done sweety." Said Sharon. I was bawling at this point. Feeling unable to continue, I shook my head feeling defeated and weak. Sweat dripped down my cheeks along with my tears. My mother wiped them away gently.

"I can't!" I sobbed. Casting a look over to Chris I found him looking back at me, torn and sad for me.

"Stacy switch with me real quick." He said moving around her and over to me. He took hold of my hand as I bawled into his chest.

"Chris I can't, I ca-it hurts too much!" I cried.

"Shhh Ty, Ty look at me. Listen, can do this. Okay? This ain't nothin' compared to your strength got this. Alayah's trynna get to us, she almost here...come on. Don't give up. You got this." Supported Chris as he placed tiny loving kisses against my temple, soothing me. I nodded shakily pulling myself together.

In that moment, I thought only of Alayah.

"Okay." I sniffed and watched him as he went to take his position back at my feet. Blowing a puff of air from my mouth. I nodded okay to Sharon and caught her smile before I shut my eyes.

"Okay Ty, give me everything for this one. Last one. One...two...three...PUSH!" Yelled Sharon as I pushed with everything I could muster up.

"Argahhhhh!" I screamed into the delivery room.

"Ty...Tyson wake up, honey. The nurse is here to check you." Whispered someone in my ear. Groggily, I peeled open my eyelids and was immediately greeted by the white florescent lights above me. I removed my gaze from the ceiling and looked to my left where the voice had rooted from to find my mother there. Smiling down at me. I smiled sleepily but looked around when I didn't see Chris. My sight landed on the couch by the door where he lay uncomfortably asleep with one hand on his stomach and one behind his head and with one leg rested on the cushion while the other leg hung off of the couch like deadweight.

"He's so exhausted.." I whispered feeling bad for him. He was barely getting any sleep and after the horrible flu he was just getting over, it was what he needed most.

"He's okay sweety, he's more excited about the arrival of his first child to worry about sleep." Spoke my mother as the nurse checked me to see how dilated I was after the three hours that had just passed.

"Okay! Looks like ready to see you guys." Smiled the nurse sweetly. Her spirit was so high that it instantly rubbed off on me earning a big grin. I was suddenly overwhelmed with happiness and nerves.

"I'm just gonna grab Doctor Wittiker for you and we'll get you started." She said before exiting the room. I watched my mother shake Chris awake and he jumped from his spot thinking something was wrong, his head snapped from left to right as my mother whispered the news to him. I grinned when his eyes nearly popped out of his head.

The nurse suddenly entered the room again and took Chris to go and change into his scrubs and prepare for the delivery. He blew a kiss before leaving the room. Sharon entered the room after they left and grabbed my mother into a hug before she came over to me checking my charts and monitors. I grew more nervous as the seconds ticked.

"How ya doin' Tyson?" She asked with a risen brow and a knowing smirk. I breathed.

"Nervous, she's three days early." I answered.

"Happens. She's fine though." Sharon smirked and shrugged.

"Okay..what if I can't push her out?" I asked in slight panic. She chuckled and took a seat next to me on my bed.

"You will. I'm gonna need you to be strong for me though, okay?" Asked Sharon, grabbing hold of my hand. I nodded keeping quiet.

"Let me hear you." She encouraged.

"Okay." I whispered. Satisfied, she stood from the bed.

"Okay. Lets get you prepped." She smiled.

"How you doin' Mags?" Whispered Chris as he sat by my side. We were going on the tenth hour and I was only dilated seven centimeters. The nurse had given me the epidural, so I was feeling pretty zoned out and numb to the pain.

"Im okay.." I whispered back.

Everyone had come and gone out of my delivery room. Mackenzie, Brooke, Paige, Mike, Justin, Jesse, Jeremiah, and even Daya was out in the waiting room since only two visitors were allowed in at a time.

Chris kissed the skin on my hand repeatedly and I smirked through my haze.

"I love you.." I said softly grabbing his hand.

"I love you too, mamas" Smiled Chris.

I sighed trying to relax, I wondered why it was taking me so long to be fully dilated and birth Alayah.

"What's taking her so long." I asked resting a hand over the monitor wrapped over my stomach that kept track of her heartbeat.

"She's comin' babe, just give her some time.. take a nap. I'm 'bout to take one too." Said Chris as he leaned over and rested his head in his arm on my bed. I heaved one last sigh before I shut my eyes and instantly was taken over by my exhaustion.
