I sat in the seat with my head propped against the window. My heart was filled with hatred and no one could take that away. With every bump and jolt of the bus, I became angrier! Everything was happening at once, too much for a 17 year old to handle. Why me? I questioned no one in particular. My sister, Chantal, sat beside me, talking a hole in my head, but I didn't feel like hearing it! She was the main reason why I was on this bus. Fighting over this dumb ass boy who used her 15 year old ass for sex...And of course, I jumped in, defending her...
"Asia, are you gonna talk to me"?
"No, not really," I spat, glaring out the window
"I'm your damn sister"!!

"Look Asia, i'm sorry okay, i've told you this since the day the judge ordered that we go to this damn place."

I closed my eyes and sighed, hoping she would shut the hell up before I blew a fuse. Within the next few minutes, chaos erupted on the bus and me eyes flew open. "We're here," my sister informed, giving me 'puppy dog' eyes. My eyes reverted back to the window, seeing 6 men dressed in camoflauge army atire. I laughed, shaking my damn head at how seriously some people took their job...
"GIRLS AND BOYS, GRAB YOUR THINGS AND LET'S GO"!!! The busdriver yelled
Chantal gave me a warm smile before leaning over to peck me on the cheek. I rolled my eyes, standing up to retrieve my belongings. "Bootcamp, here I come," I giggled, exiting the bus...
"LINE UP"!!! This buff dude screamed
"Damn yo, we CAN hear his crazy ass."
A few people around me laughed but I was dead serious. We all lined up side by side with our suitcases in front of us. I smiled from ear to ear, not really taking this s*** seriously. Why should I? The 6 men, marched in front of us, scanning each of the bodies that stood before them. Was this supposed to be intimidation? "Oh lawd," I thought to myself as this brown skinned man stopped directly in front of me. He towered my petite frame and sweat on his forehead glistened in the sun...
"AND WHY ARE YOOOUUUU SMILING"?? He shouted, flaring his nostrils
"AND WHY ARE YOOOUUUU YELLING"?? I shouted back
He leaned forward, his face nearly 2 centimeters away from mine. "Nuh uh, back up bruh," I said, backing away...
"Do you know who I am young lady"??
"Umm...Cadet Carnigee," I stated, reading his badge
"YES! SO RESPECT ME"!!
"You gotta earn it first mister."
"John, I think we have met our match. Can you escort her to DCC...she needs to be taught a lesson, already."
I laughed in his face, grabbing my bags. Is he serious?
"Let's go," another man demanded
Chantal nudged me in the side, signaling for me to just go with the flow. I gave in, following this tall, scary ass looking dude. We walked across the widespread lawn, heading towards a small brick building. "March, march...march, march, march," I said, trying to annoy this Cadet John dude. Suprisingly, he ignored me. He opened the building's door, nodding his head for me to enter..
"Air conditioner"!!
The cool air hit me like a train. It felt so good, better then the hot, June sunshine. My eyes scanned the small room. To me it seemed as though it was a lounge or something, not some damn DCC, whatever that stood for. There, in a corner, sat 3 men, playing cards. They all looked up, eyeing the two of us. Well damn, is this where they keep all of the the cute men?
"She's all yours guys," John sighed
"Haha, I am"?? I asked, biting my lower lip
"I'm gonna take her from here," the light skinned one said, throwing a handful of cards down
John nodded his head before saluting and 'marching' off. I stood there, waiting for one of these niggas to give me a command..
"Drop and gimme 50."
"Huh...drop and give you what"??
"50"!!
"Naw, Asia Jackson don't do pushups, Seargent, umm, Brown," I grinned, staring at his badge
Damn! He was too cute to be so serious. Even under all of that bulky outerwear, I could see a few things that I liked...But the nigga was mean-mugging me...
"Imma take her to the field, guys."
Field???
He grabbed me by my arm, almost dragging me. "I like it rough." He glanced at me with disgust, shooting me a nasty look...

I quietly made my way into cabin # 55A, making sure to avoid knocking over anything. I tiptoed over to Asia’s bunk and carefully climbed on the top level. My foot almost kicked Chantal in her ear but I got away with brushing against her earlobe without waking her. I squeezed in the bed, beside Asia. Even in nearly complete darkness, I could see her staring at me…
“Did you know that my boyfriend was your goddamn brother?”
“I found that out today, Asia.”
“I’m screwed. What am I supposed to do? I’m gonna feel guilty for the rest of eternity.”
“Leave him.”
“What?!”
“Leave him.”
“Why?”
“…Because I want you.”
“Whaaaaaaaat?!?”
I cupped my hand over her mouth, preventing her from talking too loud…
“Naw, I’m just playing.”
“Sure you are.”
“Well…can I have my phone now because I know you have it.”
“It’s underneath my mattress.”
“It’s amazing how one minute we’re acting like enemies and the next, we laugh with each other,” I said, finally feeling my phone
“I know right?”
“Yup…Well, see you tomorrow,” I said as I was inches away from getting out of her bed
