Once upon a time there was me . Kandise. Young, sexy, and high maintenance, if i must say so. yea, yu heard me right, and i'm c**ky as hell too. i don't care who knows. I was born March 5, 1987 to Melissa Jenkins and Travis Jenkins and i've been flyy ever since. I grew up in the Los Angeles but we got outta there as soon as i graduated middle school. Then we moved to Atlanta, and as soon as we got here, i knew we was stayin. i had a good feeling about this place, a real good feeling. When i started skool the first day, i met this dude who would change my life forever.
Christopher Maurice Brown was this real cool kid who lived across the street from me. he was a real cutie too. as a matter of fact, Chris was the first person I met when I moved out to atlanta. I remember it like it was yesterday.
it was saturday afternoon && it was blazing outside. my mother had sent me && my sister to find the nearest supermarket to pick up something for dinner that night. we were on our way walkin back home from the supermarket when I noticed a car riding along side me. I looked at the windows, tryin to at least get a face but I realized the windows were tinted. the driver rolled down his window && revealed the ugliest thing in the world. wat the hell? I thought to myself. I turned my head && kept walking && talkin with my sister. still, the car continued to follow us.
"aye lil mama my nigga wanna know if he could talk to yu for a minute." said the driver.
I looked towards the car, just out of curiosity when I saw, sitting next to the ugliest thing in the world, the sexiest thing in the world indeed. but ugh, he was in the passengers side. what I need with a nigga ridin around in his nigga's car? this mysterious sexy dude smiled at me but again, I turned my head away && kept talkin to my sister.
"kandise, what is wrong with yu? yu better talk to ole dude." my sister said.
"Ugh, Ariel, he's a scrub. how he gonna be tryna talk to me out of his man's ride. that's tacky."
"damn, kandise, why yu gotta be like that?"
"cuz I don't wanna talk to him." I told her.
she stopped in her tracks && peered over into the car. she waved her hand.
"Ariel what are yu doin?" I asked, staring at her like she was some sort of alien.
"shyt, if yu don't wanna talk to his fine ass, I sure will." she said.
I rolled my eyes.
"well, do yu then. but um, kandise doesn't date scrubs." I said, twirling my hair.
the car stopped && my sister walked over to the passenger window. ugh, I thought I taught her better than that. she lost madd cool points for this shyt. I couldn't hear the conversation between the too, but I saw her smiling && shyt so I became curious. within minutes, Ariel was walking over to me && the car pulled off.
"so what happened?" I asked, curiously.
"none of ya business. yu said yu aint wanna talk to him so I did." sha answered dryly.
I huffed && just continued walking back to the house. we exchanged no more words for the rest of the walk. something in me still wanted to know what happened with Ariel && that scrub ass dude. but I decided not to push the issue.

"okay." I agreed, tryna chill with the attitude.
"well um, my name is Chris, as yu know. I'm 17, I got a twin sister named Asia, && um..."

"yup."

Chris chuckled.
"yup, she's just the girl version of me. I think yu wud like her."
"why yu say that?" I asked.
"because Asia gets along with errybody. hopefully yu will get to meet her." he said.
"mmmhmm...well, since yu told me about yu, I guess ill tell yu a little bit about me. but I'm not one for handin out my business on a silver platter so lk I said, ill tell yu a little bit."
"aight, that's cool." he said in agreement.
"um, as yu know, my name is Kandise but my peoples call me Kandy. I'm 17, I'm a pisces..."
"yu a pisces too?"
"what yu mean too? don't tell me yu a pisces."
"hell yea I am. what's wrong with that?"
"nuthin, I was just sayin. but I guess its cool. just remember I'm the flyyest pisces yu will ever know."

I put my fone down && walked down the hall to Ariel's room. I didn't even bother knocking. shyt, I had a bone to pick with her. I think I startled her because she jumped upon my entrance to her room. I stood in the doorway.
"why did yu give that scrub my number?" I asked immediately.
"huh? kandise what are yu talkin about?" she asked, playin dumb.
"yu know exactly what I'm talkin about! who's Chris?" I asked.
"ohhhhh..."
"yea ohhhhhhhh...why did yu give him my number? I thought yu was gonna talk to him."
"yea I was, but um, I changed my mind. besides, yu know he was cute. yu just too high maintenance. hatin on a nigga jus cuz he ridin with his friend."

"&& yu need to get over yaself. I know yu my sister && shyt, but yu are not all that. itz the paid dudes that treat yu like shyt yu know."
"man whatever. just don't be givin out my number no more." I said, walking back to my room.
I picked up my fone && noticed Chris was still on the line.
"hello." I said into the fone.
"yea." he said.
"sorry about that. but listen, I dunno why my sister gave yu my number. maybe she thought it would be funny. && I'm sorry, but I don't wanna talk to yu."
there was silence on the other end of the fone .
"um hello?"
"yea I'm here."
"well did yu hear what I said?" I asked him.
"yup. but the thing is, I don't really care. I'm feelin yu && I want to get to know yu."
"well I'm sorry but I don't think that's gonna happen."
"okay well could yu at least give me one reason why yu don't wanna get to know me?"
"I don't even know yu. I don't need to explain myself to yu."
"so yu can't huh?"
"I didn't say that now did I?"
"it doesn't matter what yu said. I can just tell. what, am I ugly?"
"I didn't say that either." I told him.
"so why cant we be friends?"
"yu never said anything about being friends."
"well I am now so how about it?" he asked.

Later that night, after diner, I went upstairs to my room. I took out my pajamas && prepared to take a bath before going to bed. I took my Ipod dock into the bathroom with me just for a little extra relaxation. I loved listening to music in the bathtub. it always gave me a chance to sit back && just think. I sat there for about twenty minutes before I was disturbed my a knock at the bathroom door.
"kandise, would yu hurry up? I gotta pee." said Ariel, prolly doing her pee pee dance outside of the door.
"why didn't yu piss before I got in here?" I asked, with a bit of attitude.
"come on kandise, dag."
"aight aight, I'll be out in a minute. can't even take a bath in peace." I said.
I took the soap && began lathering it on my washcloth before rubbing it all over myself. I did this repeatedly, until I was satisfied. then I stepped out of the tub && dried off. I washed out the tub && wrapped my towel around my waist. I knocked on Ariel's door before going to my room to tel her I was out of the bathroom.
"well itz too late now. I aint gotta piss no more."
I sighed && went to my room to lotion down && put on my pajamas. just as soon as I was done, I wrapped my hair && put my scarf on. my cell phone began ringing, startling me && almost falling off of my dresser...
"lemme take yu down, I really wanna take yu down && show yu wat I'm about..."
I looked at the caller I.d. but didn't recognize the number. I answered anyway.
"who dis?" I said, pressing the talk button.
"damn, ma, that's how yu answer ya fone?" said a male voice on the other line.
"damn right. now who the f*** is this?" I asked again.
"damn ma yu aint gotta get al fiesty && shyt. my name is Chris."
"what the fukk is a Chris?" I asked sarcastically.
"the dude from the car earlier..."
"what? how the hell yu got my number? I hope yu aint stalkin me."
"nah I don't do those." he said. "ya sister gave it to me. she said yu wanted to talk to me."
"okay, cud yu hold on just a second?" I asked.
"aight."
