Chapter 3:Baby Boom

Since I was too young for him as he would like to say I stayed away from anyplace he hung out. " But Kourtney you know he always trying to feel on my ass. I'm not finna be molested by a football player. And besides fine ass Neno taking me out tommorow night." " Well thats good for you but I still think you and Jamal look cuter together. Besides Neno is spoiled and conceited. He only nice to you because your exotic." " So what. And if he step out of line you can beat his ass and I'll help you." We laughed before saying goodbye. I walked in the living room only to see momma leaning over the trash can throwing up her guts. I rushed to her side and held her hair until she was finished. This wasn't the first time this had happened. After making sure she went to her room to rest I carried the garbage downstairs to the dumpster next to our condo.

On my way there I ran into JJ. I kept on walking but he followed me and took the bag out of my hand. Instead of saying thankyou I turned on my heels and walked the other way. He caught up to me and spun me around. " Damn it Emerald why are you being so difficult?". " I'm just acting my age JJ. If you don't like it deal with it or move on to annoy another girl." " This is not like you ma. You better than this. Don't be like this because of me. I'm bad news and I'm trying to protect you from getting hurt." " You can't hurt me more than you already have. I really want to be yours. Just give me a chance to pro-". He cut me off with a kiss. I mean it was a passionate kiss, like the ones you see in the movies. He pulled away suddenly and backed away from me. " I'm so sorry Emerald. I didn't mean to do that. Now it's gonna be harder than I thought."

He pecked my forehead and ran the other way. I walked back to the condo confused but satisfied. The moment I stepped inside I knew something was wrong. Momma was on her bed with her back towards me crying her eyes out. " Momma are you ok?". " Emerald just leave me the hell alone and get out of my f***ing face!". I jumped from her outburst and ran out the condo. I ran all the way to Kourtneys house and sat in her room telling her all about it. " Yo momma stay on some other s*** girl. You did nothing wrong so don't blame yourself for her bulls***. She just having a bad day thats all." " No I think she pregnant and she don't know who the father is. I mean last week she bought home pregnancy tests and then the next day all of them are gone like they never were there. Something just ain't adding up Kourt." I hope to god she not pregnant cause thats drama waiting to happen.

Chapter 2: Too Young

At school things were ok I guess. I mean considering the fact that I ate in the library or was always the reason an argument broke out on who's team I would be on life was pretty normal. Mama had started to date again and she was changing. She no longer was the nice,quiet mama I loved. She was now a loud, rude, I hate to say it gold digger. You would think with all the money we had she would behave differently but no she was the complete opposite. She gave me these weird lessons on how to get a sugar daddy and how to stay taken care of. It got so bad that I hated being at home. I found refuge at school with my new friend Kourtney. She was my confident and I told her eveything. We would sit around and do each others hair and nails. One day she arched my eyebrows and I must say it made a big difference. Some how she got me to cut my hair into a short curly Mohawk with copper red highlights.

It came out good and it really bought out my eyes. I was sitting in the park reading a hair coloring book when a pair of hands snatched my book. I looked up to see Jamal smirking at me. " JJ give it back. I was reading that page!". He looked at me confused. " Emerald is that you?". His confusion gave me a boost of confidence. " Of course who else would it be?". " Damn shorty you look amazing. Like real talk ma." " Thank you so what are you doing here? Were you looking for me?. " No I was just looking for something to do." That bought my confidence down. " Well give me back my book." " Come get it." I grabbed for it but he wouldn't give it to me. Somehow we ended up face to face. He got this strange look in his eye and looked down at my lips. Momma told me that meant he wanted to kiss me.

I leaned in just like him but at the last minute he pulled away. " Emerald this is so wrong. You can't be doing this to me shorty." " I can be your girl if you let me Jamal." " Im bad news babygirl and you can't handle it. " Yes I can Im almost grown." he laughed at me. " Almost don't count. You too young for me ma." " I am not!". " Im sorry Emerald. I gotta go." He left me standing there with two words playing over in my head. Too Young!

Chapter 1: Back in the days

1995

" When I grow up I'm gon be the best bootician eva." My momma smiled at me and spun me around. " Thats right baby and momma gonna be right there to support you. We walked out of the house when one of momma's male friends stopped us. He gave me a smile and pulled momma to the side. I couldn't here what he said but momma jumped on him and screamed yes. He took us out that night and I learned he was gonna be my new daddy. I was happy cause he always treated me nice. Whenever he bought momma presents I got them too. That same week we moved into a big castle. Momma said since I was finally 6 I could have my own room and 2 playrooms. I was so happy that I ran through the whole castle screaming. Nothing could Stop my happiness.

Today is daddys funeral. I don't wanna go but momma said he
would want me there. It seemed just like yesterday he asked
momma to marry him and became my father. He took good care of us and he had boatloads of money. Momma said he left it all to me and her. I would give it up just to have him back. The funeral came and went and slowly momma and I got back to being ourselves. The house was too big for the too of us so she bought a condo in Manhatten,New york. I was only 14 but some how the change was a good thing. Momma had sent me to the corner to send out a letter for her. I was halfway down the block when a wild german shepard jumped in front of me. I slowly backed away as it walked towards me growling. I kept backing up until I bumped into a boy. He looked at me and then the dog. " Go home now you crazy ass dog! Always trying to bother some body. Go now!". I watched in amazement as the dog ran scared from him. I felt a hand on my back and realized he was still there.

" Thank you for-". " It was nothing Emerald." I looked at him in shock. He laughed at my face. " Its on your name plate shorty." I blushed in embarassment. " Well what's your name?". He gave me another smile. " Im Jamal but you can call me JJ. Come on the post office is right up the street. I'll walk you." And that's exactly what he did. He even walked me back home. " So JJ how old are you?". He looked at me and smirked. " Older than you lil mama." " How old is older than me?". " 17 and trust me I'm bad news so don't go looking for me. If I need to I'll come find you." With that he left me standing there wanting to know everything about him.
