Tina Jones - 19 year old hair stylist of puerto recan, white and black decent (i know she doesn't look like it but she is because i said so). Has been dating Chris since she was 14. She's the mother to his three year old illigitimate child Mya.

Even though Tina and him keep in touch he doesn't really know what's going on now because he left for college after high school. But will return in the story right when Tina needs him the most. He does support Tina's choice of being with Chris. Chris and him have a very funny relationship because Peaches is a flamming homosexual and proud of it.

I mean like when I read I can see this actually happening to somebody, and how everything fits and compares to eachother, the drama makes it more real, cause you can not have a real f***ING GOOD ASS STORY with out drama, and I mean it when I say that your story is f***ING GREAT, I don't know but I have just fell in love with your story, and o ya that picture of Shad, that you had with his shirt off...he was looking to hottttttt...omg...lolz, but ya Shad is real genuine in this story. Shad in braced her. “Shh……I already know from experience I can’t make you do anything……I wouldn’t try to make you anyway.” He pulled his coat off and helped Tina put it on. “See now that’s taken care of.” Tina smiled. “There’s that beautiful smile.” Shad led her to his car; opened the passenger side and helped her in then jogged to the driver’s side. He gripped the stirring wheel took a deep sigh and looked at Tina.
She returned the jester. “I don’t think you should do this…..You know first hand how Chris’s temper is. If he finds ou-“
“Don’t be stressin’ over dude. Let me worry ‘bout Chris. When the time comes I’ll handle it. Until then this stays between you and me. Not even Shalay can know…..Aight?”
Tina hesitated. Then replied with “Okay.”
“Where you wanna go?” He asked as he pulled out of the drive way.
Tina wiped her tears. “I don’t know…..I…I have nowhere else to go. Chris was my home…..my everything.”
Shad pulled her closer so that her head was resting on his shoulder. “Don’t worry Lil’ Bit.” It had been a long time since he called her that. It felt strange but good. “I’ll take care of you. I think I know where I should take you.” Shad reached down to turn on the radio. “Bleeding Love” blared threw the speakers. He tried to turn it.
Tina grabbed his hand. “No turn it up I love this song.” She didn’t release his hand as she cried on his shoulder.
Shad didn’t say anything just let her get it all out. After about ten minutes of heading south Shad turns east.
Tina sat up and looked around. “Where are you going? Why are you turning on this street?” She looked at the street that led to Joyce’s house. “No Shad! I can’t stay here!”
Would you calm the f*** down! I’m not gonna leave you here….aight! You just need somewhere you can relax and figure things out. I got a tee-shirt and sweat pants in the trunk. You can change into that. It’ll probably be way too big but it’ll do for now.”
“Shad this will be the first place he looks for me! I can’t stay here!”
“Woman will you listen to me! I said you ain’t stayin here for long. I gotta figure out a way to get you to calm down. I can’t seem to keep you calm but maybe Joyce can do whatever the f*** it is she does. We won’t stay long. Just long enough for you to take a shower and then we out. I put that on everything I love. Just trust me.”
“I do trust you.”
“Good…….Now sit back and relax. I’m here now everything’s gonna be fine.”
Tina did just that. There was something about Shad that always made her feel safe.

“Why would she?”
Shad shrugged him shoulders. “She said she felt like you would need some support. I guess she felt like I was the best choice since we go way back even further then you and Chris.” He spontaneously hugged her. “Why didn’t you come to me?”
Tina slowly wrapped her arms around his waist. It had been along time since Shad had given her a huge. It felt strange. “I was just kinda in shock at first. I didn’t really know what to do.”
Shad pulled back and looked at Tina. “So you’re really gonna do this….huh?”
“I have to. I can’t keep trippin’ off Chris.”
Shad wiped one of her tears. “Then let me help you?”
Tina shook her head. “No! You can’t. I have to do this on my own. I know you mean well but you’re to close to Chris to help me.”
Shad grabbed her shoulders so she would look at him. “ Listen Tina I owe you an apology.”
She furrowed her brow. “Why?”
“Because I haven’t been there for you like I should have. Yeah Chris is my boy but you come first. I just figured it wasn’t my place anymore. I shouldn’t have deserted you like that. Me and you been friends along ass time ….way before all of this. Before Chris and Shalay and way before I got wrapped up in the game…..We use to take care of each other. Let me take care of you now.” Shad hugged her tight.
Tina broke down and hugged him back. “I’ve missed you.”
“I missed you too gurl.” Shad pulled back to look at her. “Now you wanna let a nigga know why you’re out here in that when it’s cold as f***?”
Tina looked down at her shorts and flip flops. She shifted her feet a little then looked back up at Shad. “I wasn’t thinking.” She panicked. “I had to get out before Chris woke up…Okay!…Just please don’t make me go back in there! My heart can’t take it!”

Shad pulled him up by his arm and twisted it into a chicken wing. “You want me to break more then that!” He led him all the way to his own car and opened the front door then shoved him in. “Get the f*** outta her now and I might now tell Chris your punk ass showed up here and put your hands on his woman!”
Lloyd coughed up more blood. “Somebody put there hands on her and it won’t my ass…You need to check ya boy!”
Shad pulled him out of the car by his collar. “What the f*** you talkin’ bout?”
“Look at her man! There’s bruises all over her arms!”
“You don’t know what the f*** you talking bout! You worry about yours and I’ll worry about mine!” Shad threw him back into the car then stood there until he pulled off.
He walked back toward the house where Tina still stood. “I been callin’ Chris all morning. Why the hell he ain’t pickin’ up?”
“Well…his phone kinda ran into a miss hap.” Tina lifted her arm to move a wild curl out of her face.
Shad bugged his eyes out. “Where the hell did you get that?”
She quickly pulled her arms behind her back. “It’s nothing.”
“No let me see it.” He held his hand out.
Tina took a deep breath and showed him. She saw his facial expression change to anger. “I promise it’s not as bad as it looks Shad.”
“Did Lloyd do this to you?”
Tina started to panic she didn’t want Shad upset with Chris over this. It was all just a misunderstanding but she could never lie to him. “No Shad it wasn’t Lloyd.”
“I Know Chris ain’t put his f***in’ hands on you!..Tina tell me he didn’t put is motha f***in hands on you!”
“Calm down…He didn’t mean to hurt me it wasn’t his intent.”
“Oh! Hell no! He done lost his damn mind!” He grabbed Tina’s hand and started towards the door.
Tina pulled against him as tears filled her eyes. “No Shad I can’t go back in there!”
Shad turned around. “What the hell happened last night?”
Tina crossed her arms. “Quit actin’!....I know you and half the town knew Chris f***ed round with that b****!”
“Tina. I’m sorry.”
She held her hand up. “Save it! I got to get outa her now!”
“Hold up you can’t drive like this.” She kept walking. “You need to calm down stress isn’t good for the baby.”
Tina stopped in her tracks and slowly turned around. “How did you know? I haven’t even told Lay.”
He smiled. “Joyce called me and talked to me about it last night. That’s part of the reason I’m here.”

Tina kneeled down and kissed him then left. When she made it downstairs she grabbed her purse. As she walked out the front door she looked down into her purse to grab her keys and bumped into a large figure. Her heart skipped a beat. “What are you doing here?”

Lloyd saw her tears. “I came to check on you.” He tried to touch her face but she moved back. “You all right?”
Tina quickly wiped her face. She turned around and looked up the stair in fear of having woke Chris. “Yeah....yeah I’m fine.”
Lloyd looked past her trying to see what she was looking at. “No your not…..why are you up so early?”
She turned back towards him. “Why are you standing outside my door so early?”
“Your eyes are bloodshot….Why you been crying?”
“Answer my question first. Why are you here Lloyd?”
“I told you. I saw what happened today at the shop and I wanted to check on you. That’s it.” He held his hands up. “There are no hidden agendas. I put that on everything.”
“I have told you nicely in everyway I can think of……You need to stay way from me!”
“Whoa! Whoa!......You wanna tell me what’s really got you all upset?”
“No! I don’t have time for this.” She tried to walk around Lloyd and he grabbed one of her bruised arms. Tina tried to hide the pain.
Lloyd looked down. “What the f*** happened to you?”
Tina struggled to get away. “Nothing! What happens to me is not your concern. Let me go!”
“Not until you tell me how you got those!” Lloyd felt something connect with his face and he hit the ground hard.

Tina was incomplete shock. Lloyd was lying on the ground with Shad on top of him beating the life out of him. Shad had practically come out of nowhere.
Shad fist continued to connect with Lloyd’s jaw. “Don’t you ever put your hands on her!” He hit him again. “I will f***in kill you nigga!” and a again.
There was blood everywhere. Tina tugged on Shad’s shoulders. “Shad you have to stop you’re killing him!”
Shad stopped and Lloyd grabbed his jaw. “I think you broke my face!” He spit a large amount of blood on the ground.”

Tina jumped from the sound of his voice. “I have to pee.” Chris kissed the side of her face and turned back over. Tina quickly got up and quietly tipped toed into the bathroom. She shut the door behind her and leaned up against the door. That’s when it hit her. She was really going to do this. She was really going to walk out on the man that had taken up residence in every part of her life for the past five years. If Tina did this she would be giving up so much. Leaving Chris meant leaving everything that was connected to Chris. Most of her friends were his friends. All the places she went now everyone knew who she was and that she was his that’s how he always knew were she was. This wasn’t going to be easy. Not to mention she would be giving the man himself up. That meant he could openly do whatever he wanted now. Could she handle that? Not only was he her man he was her best friend. Maybe in time Chris would accept her choice and they could be friends. Maybe he would still let her adopt Mya. Tina let the door support her weight as she broke down and cried. She slide down to the tile floor and wrapped her arms around her legs. She didn’t want any of this to affect her relationship with her daughter. Even though she was pregnant with her first child Mya would always be her first child in her heart. Tine had to make this okay for her. Why did Chris have to go and f*** up again? They had almost gotten it right this time. She prayed that by her leaving he didn’t think she didn’t love Mya. That couldn’t be further from the truth. What if he thought she didn’t love him? Should she even care? For some reason the thought of Chris ever thinking she didn’t love him was almost unbearable. She would leave a note trying to explaining why it was for the best. After all they had never had a problem loving each other. They maybe even loved each other to much. But sometimes love just wasn’t enough. Tina stood up and pulled her hair back into a messy ponytail. She looked at herself in the mirror and notice that a nasty bruise had already started forming on each of her arms. She knew Chris didn’t mean to hurt her but it didn’t make it okay. Tina pushed all thoughts from her mind. She needs to mentally prepare herself for her exit. She would get dressed and write the note then hurry up and leave. Forget taking anything. She was about to seconds from changing her mind if she didn’t take action now. She slowly opened the door and peeked her head threw. He was still asleep. Tina quickly but quietly pulled her sweat shorts on and tank top on and without thinking of the cold weather Tina slipped on a pair of flip flops then grabbed a pen and paper from her night stand and started to write. The more she wrote the more her tears increased. Every word that pasted through her pen made her heart break a little more. Tina placed the note on her side of the bed; walked toward the bedroom door and stopped. She couldn’t leave without seeing his face. She walked over to his side and studied his sleeping form. Could she really do this? She had to. The way Chris treated her wasn’t right. It was time to be on her own.

Chris heard Tina sniffle. He sat up so he could stare down at her. He furrowed his brow and caressed her cheek. “Babe what’s wrong?”
Tina leaned into his touch. “Nothing just hormones I guess.” She lied. A huge grin spread across his face. “What?”
Chris her cheek and intertwined their hands. “You’re having my baby.”
“And it’s just now hitting you?”
“Yeah…You know what that mean mami?”
“What?”
“No matter what we’ll always be connected. This baby...Our baby will be the best of both of us.” Chris pulled Tina closer so that her head was resting in the crook of his neck.
Tina just let him hold her. She knew she would have to wait him out because he would never let her leave with out a good fight and even he might go as far as tying her to the bed to keep her there. 15 minutes had passed and she noticed his breathing had evened out but his gripped hadn’t loosened. Chris was a wild sleeper so Tina just had to endure this for a little while longer before he started moving around in his sleep. The hard part was staying awake.
An hour had passed and then another. Tina’s eyes were getting heavy. She had almost given up hope when Chris shifted and had his back to her. Tina took a deep sigh. This was it if she didn’t get up now she would loose what little will power she had. As soon as she pulled her side of the covers back Chris turned back towards her and draped his arm over her midriff. Tina held her breath and her eyes immediately studied his face. Thank God he was still a sleep. Chris was always paranoid that one of his enemies would try and kill him in his sleep so he had mastered the art of never falling into a deep sleep. She lightly took hold of his arm and started to lift it.
“Where are you going?”

Chris pulled the covers back. Tina got in and Chris followed placing his arm protectively around her waist. He was practically smothering her.
Chris kissed the top of her head then her ear. “Mami I could never let you walk outta my life. You’re what hold’s me together; none of this works without you baby.” He whispered.
Tina didn’t reply just laid there and let him hold her. There was so much going on inside her mind that not a single word he was saying registered. Everything that had happened prier to there little sexcapade was on repeat. It felt like her life was practically on repeat. They had been at this across road once before. Did she choose the same path this time and if she did would she find herself here a third time and a fourth. What made this time so different then the last? Not much. She did get Mya out of the deal last time only because her mother was a crack induced whore. But this time would be very different. There was no way around that bipolar b**** Rihanna. There was no doubt in Tina’s mind that she would go to extreme means to cause a rift between her family. Not that she should let anything the trifling hoe did affect her in anyway but Tina wasn’t 100% sure they still weren’t creeping. Sure Chris had claimed that he hadn’t strayed in over a year but he had lied in the past about being fateful. Tears clouded her eyes. No matter how much she wanted to she couldn’t trust him. Yeah he ran a good game and always spoke of her holdin’ him down but when was he gonna start holdin’ her down. Tina was unable to hold her tears back. He said he would change for her. Did she really want that? After all he was the same Chris she had fallen for five years ago. Maybe he wasn’t the problem. Maybe the problem was her. She had changed while he had stayed the same. Maybe Chris didn’t love who she was now.
There was just too much transpiring at once. Could she really leave him…leave Mya…leave her home? It didn’t’ matter anyway Chris would never let her go.
Chris wrapped a piece of her hair around his finger and started singing and old Al Green song. He kissed Tina behind her ear and whispered. “Te quiero.”
Why couldn’t it always be like this between them? Tina knew that like always one of Chris’s insecurities would show its ugly head and he would feel the need to test her again. There was nothing else she could possibly do to convince him that she loved him with everything she had. If she didn’t go she would end up spending her entire life trying to prove herself to him and that was no way to live her life. It wasn’t far to her or the child that grew in side her. She needed to breakaway. She needed time to figure out who she was and she couldn’t do that here with Chris suffocating her all the time. “I love you too.” She replied.

A/N the beginning rewinds a little bit to feel in some blanks. I really hope you like and please comment I don’t care if it’s good or bad. It was hard to figure out what song to choose. I changed it about 4 times. First it was “No Air” then “Move Mountains”. But then I wanted to start off the beginning focusing on Tina so I need a song to fit her. So then the title became “Listen” by Beyonce. It would have stayed that but then I heard this song by Jennifer Lopez and it fit perfectly.
