Chapter 1: Just Like Heaven
Deaysha was walking in her garden full of flowers and a nice like wise patio which was on top of her roof of her building. She had on her Nordstrom, Green, sweater on with Levi skinny jeans and Forever 21, Yellow, heels. This is the place where she liked to relax and just have her time. She had her glass of red wine while her hair blew in the breezy wind. She thought of this place and it made her smile, then out of no where flowers started falling from the sky. She stood up and began to smile, then laugh.
“Deaysha...De?”
Her eyes shot opened, “Uh? How long was I asleep?”
“6 mins.” Her Co-Worker Breana told her as she stood over her in the lounge.
“Oh, what’s up?” She said as she stood up from her seat.
“How long have you been working?”
“23 hours.”
“Deaysha…”
“Im fine Breana. Now what’s up?” Deaysha said as she walked over to the coffee machine.
Breana handed her a file, “Mrs. Brookston…”
“Give her a numb shot and I’ll be in there in 5-10 mins.”
“But you didn’t even-“
“I know what’s wrong with my patient Breana.” Deaysha smiled.
Breana smiled back, “Ok. I’ll tell her that you’ll be in soon.”
“Thank You.”
They both walked out the lounge going separate ways. Deaysha walked towards the reception desk.
“Hey Chan’.”
“Hi, what are you doing here?”
“Look, Im not going to get that attending slot if I leave now, now will I?”
“Girl, you work to hard for that slot.”
“Got to do what I got to do Chantal.”
“Hey, Deaysha.” Someone yelled her name.
Deaysha turned around, “Yeah?” Her co-worker handed her another file. “Adams? She needs to know how to redress her sutures, and then she can be discharged.”
“Ok.”
“Dr. Hensley” Another co-worker came and showed her some files.
“No, no, I don’t like these swollen ankles, keep him here.”
“Alright.”
As soon as Deaysha was about to walk into a room, Dr. Uniden came out the room. “I already took care of Mr. Course while you were sleeping.”
“I wasn’t sleeping John, I just…”
“You’re Welcome.” He walked away.
Deaysha sighed and walked into another patient’s room. She put a smile on her face and walked over to an old man, “Mr. Washington, hi, Im Dr. Hensley, is there anything I could do to make you more comfortable before your surgery.”
“Will you marry me?”
Deaysha smiled, “Uh, do you think that’s possible?”
“I have my own bus passes.”
“Then how could I refuse.” Deaysha turned around with one of the nurses. “Hey, keep an eye on my fiancé will you and make sure he’s officially asleep before surgery.”
“Gotcha’.”
“Deaysha, phone.” Someone said.
“Thanks. Hello?”
“Deaysha, where are you?” her sister asked.
“Mina, I’ll be there at 7.”
“It is 7.”
“Ok 7:30. What are you cooking anyway?”
“Pasta,” She stopped to yell at her two daughters. “Who in the hell put SpongeBob in the food?” I heard her kids laughing in the back round.
“Maybe I shouldn’t come.”
“Come on Dee. The guy is really nice.”
“Mina, I can find a dude on my own.”
“I know Deaysha, I just would like you to meet a guy that’s not always bloody.” She kidded.
“First of all, I’ve been purposed to today.”
“Marry me.” The old guy asked again as she walked passed him again.
“Of course Mr. Washington,” She told him. “Make that twice, Mimi.”
“Look, whatever just make sure you’re here before 9. That’s when the girls will be asleep.”
“How do you know this guy anyway?”
“From an old friend, from an old friend. BYE!” She hung up the phone.

The next night, Chris invited Trey over to help him out. When he came, he just sat on the couch and closed his eyes. After a few minutes, Chris said, “That’s it? You just sit here on the couch?”
“Hey, do you want bells and whistles or a reading?”
Deaysha came over and sat on the table in front of him, “Come on. He can’t see me, either. For some hideous reason, only you can.”
“Ok, there’s somethin’. Definitely a presence.” He stated.
“Oh, my, do tell me more.” She said.
“It’s hostile. Wants you outta here.”
“Actually, he’s not bad.”
“You should move dude.”
“I should move?” Chris asked surprised.
“I would man.”
She shook her head, “I like him.”
“No,” he said while putting his hand to his chest. “I’m not gonna move.”
“Can’t you feel that man? There’s like…this…cancer-causing ray of spirit hate searing right towards your body.”
“This kid’s got a gift.”
“I’m not moving!”
“Why not?,” he looked around. “It’s not like it’s that great of an apartment anyway.”
“Yes it is.” They said together.
“Hey. It’s got a view.”
“Yeah, and a fireplace.” They looked at each other then back at him.
“Whatever dude. Yo, do have like a diet or anything. I’m like 99.9 percent parched here. I could really use a…cola.”
“Yeah, Come on.”
They both went into the kitchen. Chris got a can of cola for Trey and gave it to him. Trey opened it and started to gulp it down without stopping to take a breather.
“So uh, move out? That can’t be it. Could you please talk to her and tell her she should pass on?”
“Could you please talk to her?” She said mimicking him as she ghostly appears from no where.
“Im ignoring you.”
“Im ignoring you.”
“She won’t accept that she’s dead. I told her to walk to the light.”
“There is no light. God, you’re infuriating!” She said and as she walked away he punched the air wanting to make it her head.
“Wait, what’s going on?” Trey asked.
“Blah, blah, blah, blah.” Chris said to her.
“You know what? Do you think I like this? Do you think this is easy for me? I know something is different, something is not right. I’m walking through f***ing walls.”
“You know, I don’t think I can help you, dude,” Trey said while rubbing his temples. “This is one of the most alive spirits I’ve ever been around. She’s not going anywhere.”
“What do you mean? “
“I agree with her dude. She’s not dead.”
Chris looked at her disappointed. She smirked in his face about it to.
“But you man. You’ve got this, like; you’ve got the darkest aura I’ve ever seen. And it’s sucking the life outta you. It’s killin’ you man.” Trey walked up to Chris and touched his shoulder. “You have to let her go, dude.”
“I’m trying to but she won’t leave.”
“Not your spirit girl. I’m talking about the other one. The one you have locked in here.” He said touching his heart. “That’s what really haunting, isn’t?”
Deaysha was confused at first but then she started to get the point.
“I don’t want to talk bout it.”
“I get it. You got dumped. Probably for some dude who doesn’t have a couch fused to his ass.”
He looked at her in an evil way, “Shut up!”
“What, you can dish it out but you can’t take it? You bring Merlin from King Arthur and the Joy Luck Club to get rid of me. But I just tale about you getting dumped once and you go War of the Worlds on me?”
“YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT THE f*** YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT! SHUT THE HELL UP!” He screamed at her and walked away.
“Sorry for your loss dude. A word to the wise, girl. Show some respect to the dead.”
Trey left and Deaysha got the saddest look on her face after he said that to her. She didn’t know that he was talking about a girl being dead and she felt bad for what she said to Chris because he was right, she didn’t know what she was talking about. Deaysha went to go find Chris and found him on the roof top looking over the city.

Chris took his shower in his underwear because she sat on the toilet until he was done. He even dried off in the tub. Eventually, leaving him alone to get dressed but after that, he wanted a beer. He walked into the kitchen looking around before opening the refrigerator door. He saw no one. Once he opened the refrigerator door, he kind of jumped seeing her in there just standing. She looked at him and smirked. He rolled his eyes and grabbed a can of beer. “Another one, my, my.”
Chris sat down on the couch trying to watch the football game but Deaysha was lying on the coffee table singing loud. “I love ya. Tomorrow, you’re only a day away!” He grabbed the remote, scrumming up his face, to turn the TV up louder than her. “TOMORROW. TOMORROW! I LOVE YA! TOMORROW, YOU’RE ONLY A DAYYYYYY AAAAWWWAAAYYY!!!” She sung louder.
“Fine!” He turned the TV off and grabbed the newspaper and started to read. But that still didn’t stop her from singing.
“The sun’ll come out, tomorrow. Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow! There’ll be SUN!”
He got frustrated, “You know what? That’s it! I’ve had it with you! I’ve tried to be nice, but now you’re outta here!”
The next day, Chris got some ‘Ghost Busters’ to come and try to get her out. First he tried a preacher.
“I COMPEL YOU! I COMPEL YOU! I COMPEL YOU!” He screamed. While throwing Olive Oil in the air. Chris and Deaysha stood aside him watching him do nothing.
“Oh come on, he can’t even see me.” She said walking away.
“A little more to the left!” He said. The preacher went a little more to the left but still nothing.
Next he tried the Chinese ladies. They started throwing fire around the house trying to get rid of Deaysha. Both Deaysha and Chris were sitting on the couch.
“They’re going to set the smoke detector off Y’ know.”
As soon as she said that, it went off and the old Chinese ladies went screaming out the apartment.
“This is annoying!” He said standing up.
“Then get out! Hey, Im damn sure not stopping you.”
“No, I know someone could can you out of here.”
“Who y’ gonna call? GHOST BUSTERS!” She said jokingly.
“Not even.”

There is not coaster on this table…I’m going to sit it down on this lovely Mahogany table—“
“Don’t you dare!” She yelled as she appears from air.
“AHH!” He screamed. He grabbed a newspaper and placed on it table to sit the cup on it. “We…we need to talk.”
“About what?” He mugged him.
“Um, has it crossed your mind that there might be something…a little off about the way you’ve been spending your days?”
“Actually, yes. It’s weird having a squatter in your living room, every damn day.”
Chris got up from his sit making her back up, “I am not…ok. Let’s start over.” He pulled his hand out, “I’m Chris Brown and you are?”
“I am…” She looked dumbfound for a moment and started to look around. She saw her coffee mug on the table that had her name on it. “I’m Deaysha. My name is Deaysha.”
He saw her look at the cup, “You didn’t know that. You…you had to read that.”
“Looka here, I think I know my own name.”
“Ok, when was the last time that you remember actually talking to someone other than me?”
“Um…” She started to think. “A day ago? Yeah, a day ago.”
“And when you’re not here, how you do often spend your day?”
“Certainly a lot more than you do, that’s for sure.” She said pointing at the can of beers on the table.
“Let’s not stray from the point, Dee Dee.”
“Dee Dee? My name is not Dee Dee. I am not in a kindergarten class. It’s Deaysha.”
“..Yeah, you think.”
“Excuse me?” She said backing up some more.
“Let me ask you, has anything dramatic happened to you recently?” He said still coming towards her.
“Like what?” She asked still backing up going into the dinner room area.
“Um, I don’t know. How about DYING!” He screamed at her.
“How dare you say that to me?”
“Ok clam down.” He tried to touch her but his hands went through her.
“Get your hands off me, you pervert!” She said backing up some more.
“Calm down. Im not here to hurt you. Im here to help you face the fact that…”
“IM NOT DEAD!” She yelled backing up more and more.
“Look around you for a minute. There should be a bright light.”
She looked around, “What? What are you talking about? There’s no f***ing light?”
“WALK INTO THE LIGHT DEAYSHA!”
“THERE IS NO LIGHT! I AM NOT DEAD! I THINK I WOULD KNOW IF I WAS DEAD!” She stopped backing up and stayed in the spot she was in. Chris looked down and noticed something strange. Deaysha had walked through the middle of the table. She looked down too. “Oh, my God. What’s happening to me?”
“YOU’RE f***ING DEAD!!”
She got mad and walked up to him, “Stop saying that!” She went to slap him but her hand went through his face. Chris looked astonished and smiled.
“You missed!”
“Ugh!” She tried again and started to put her hand through his face. She wiggled her hand madly.
“Ok, that’s enough! You’re just giving me a headache!”
But she kept going at it, “GET OUT OF MY FACE!” He yelled as he stepped back dodging her hand from his face. “Alright, alright. It’s not my fault you’re the way you are. I just want you out of my house.” He said standing in front of the window.
“You get out!” She went to go push him but she went through his body and went through the window, screaming, without breaking the glass. He looked out the window and laughed, “REST IN PEACE!” He turned around and screamed as he saw her standing in front of him.
“I’m not leaving.”
He looked at her annoyed. “Fine! Neither am I. I’m going to take a shower.”
“Yeah, I’m still not leaving.” She said following him to the bathroom.
He tried shutting the door in her face but she walked right through it. “Im a ghost. Remember?”

Chapter 4: YOU’RE DEAD!
Chris was walking out of his apartment quickly the next morning. He got on his cell phone and dialed his real estate agent number.
“Hey, Bethany? It’s Chris Brown. Uh, the people who sublet this place to me, do you happen to have there number?”
“Why, is something wrong?”
“No, but I just wanted to know about the last tenant that live here.”
“Oh, well, the woman that I dealt with, she didn’t want to talk about it. It was some kind of tragedy in the family. I didn’t really press for details ‘cause I don’t need the drama. Y’ know?”
“So you think this girl died?”
“Well, you better hope so. That’s the only way they’re gonna get off of this month to month thing and give you a real lease.”
“Y’ know, that’s not exactly the reason I was…”
“Come on, Chris, grow up. It has a view and a fireplace. Most people would fight their grandparents for a lot less in this city.”
Chris hung up on her and went out the apartment building. He walked his way 2 blocks to the bookstore to find some books on what could be happening to him or how to deal with spirits. As he was looking for a book, one of the workers came up to him.
“Hey, Im Trey. Can I help you with anything?”
”No,” He was startled. “I mean, do you believe in this stuff?”
“Well, you don’t until you do.” He said spookily. He looked at his book, “That’s a little dated. I recommend the Rosemary Preston. It’s seminal for your situation.”
“’Scuse me. Where’s your UFO section?” Trey rolled his eyes and pointed the old man into the left direction.
He turned his attention back to Chris, “Ufology. It’s not even real science. So what kind of encounter have you had?”
“Encounter?” He said looking at him strangely.
“Ectoplasm? Soniferous ether? I have a killer séance book if you’re into communication.”
“Communicating is not her problem.”
Trey smiled at him and shook his head, “Rightttt. I have exactly what you need.”
He started looking for books and piled them onto Chris’ hands. He had more than 6 books when he left the store. Chris went home that night and lit some candles. He started to read some of the books to try and get the ‘Spirit’ of out his apartment.
