Channing stood at the top of the bleachers and watched as her brother took his last shot in the gym. She looked down at her watch.

"Hey!" She called. He looked up at his sister and then down at the ball in his hands. "We've gotta go. C'mon."

He dropped the ball and walked slowly towards the bench where he'd sat his backpack. Channing walked down the bleachers and they met halfway. She rubbed his head and kissed his forehead.

"Did you turn in all of your books?" She asked.

He nodded, "Yeah. I officially don't go here anymore." He said, looking up at her.

She smiled, trying to save face. "Let's hit the road. The movers should be on their way to the house now. It's beautiful, I promise."

He shrugged, "It'll never be home." He mumbled, walking ahead of her.

Channing sighed and followed after her brother. She turned on the radio as they drove out of the school parking lot. Aaron stared lifelessly out of the side view mirror as they drove away from the school. Channing rolled down the windows and got on the highway. Their destination was 400 miles away. 400 miles away from memories. 400 miles away from home.

Channing waited for Aaron in the gas station parking lot. He walked out eating a honey bun, with his phone in the other hand. He pumped the gas, before he got back in the car. She looked over at him. She turned off the car. He looked at the ignition and then at her.

"What you doin?" He asked.

"...I'm sorry that we have to do this. I don't want to either, Aaron. But we've got to. You understand that, right?" She asked.

He nodded, "Channing this isn't your fault." He said, looking over at her. "s*** happens. I'm not mad that I've gotta live with you. I just wish that I could live...there. With all of my friends, and stuff."

"I do too. But things are gonna be great, okay? I'd do whatever for you." She said, rubbing his head.

"I know." He nodded, finishing his honey bun.

Channing started the car and drove out of the parking lot and back onto the highway. When they got to their house, Aaron got out of the car and took out his headphones. He looked over at her.

"We live here?" He asked.

She nodded and smiled a little, looking up at house. "Yeah...we do. Come on. Let's check it out."

She shut the door and they walked up to the front door. She unlocked the door and walked inside to see the living room furniture in the middle of the floor. Aaron narrowed his eyes.

"Your movers sucked." He said.

She nodded, "Yeah. I hope they put everything else in the right place." She said, walking into the kitchen.

Aaron looked around the living room, before he walked towards the steps and went upstairs. He ran his fingers along the walls, wondering what they'd be filled with. He walked onto the freshly laid carpet and looked in each of the rooms. He found a room at the end of the hall and opened the door.

"We can paint it whatever color you want." Channing said, walking up behind him.

He turned and looked at her, "Cool." He said, nodding and walking into the room.

He sat his bag down on the floor and looked around the room.

"I'm gonna order pizza. Anything you want on your half?" Channing asked.

"Pineapples and pepperoni." He said, opening his backpack.

"Ew. Why?" She asked laughing.

"It was mom's favorite." He responded, looking up at her.

"I wish I knew that." She said softly.

"It's not your fault. Nothing ever is." He said.

Channing looked at him with apologetic eyes before she turned and walked quickly down the hall. Aaron pulled out the pictures of his mom and put them on his nightstand before he lied back on the bed and started up at the ceiling.
