"Damn girl. Y'all are too adorable. Where the hell did you find him at?" The ghetto waitress laughed. I hated that question. Me and Chris looked at each other and an awkward silence followed.

"Long story." We both said in unison. Luckily for Chris and I, she wasn't curious type. She just nodded and kept it moving. Little did she know, our story was more than just long. Me and Chris weren't like most couples. When we met it wasn't love at first sight, nor did we know each other when we were young. Truth be told, when I first met him I wanted to kill him with my bare hands. Neither of us would've ever imagined that we'd end up together. Especially not after all that he put me through. It's not something I can explain quickly. Hell, it's not even something I enjoy talking about. But, in order for you to understand it, I have to go back to where it all started.

“You work for me now. I'm your new boss.” He said as he counted the wad of money in his hand.

“Yeah. And what if I don’t want to work here?” I grilled the dude standing in front of me. He just laughed.

“You ain’t got much of a choice.” I'd definitely seen this guy a few times before. Those instances where I was somewhere I damn sure wasn’t supposed to be. He was fine. There was no denying that. Being here with him only supported those thoughts. Still, I was f***ing confused. I didn’t even know how I ended up here. Matter of fact, where the hell was I?! These thoughts were running through my brain a mile per minute and I started to freak myself out. I wanted to cry. I prepared myself to run and it was then that I realized that I couldn’t move. My hands were tied behind my back and my feet were bound to the chair that I was sitting in.

“Let me the f*** outta here! Right now!” I yelled at him. He simply looked up from his money and shook his head.

“Lower your voice.” Was he serious? After all this s*** that’s all this motherf***er had to say to me.

“f*** YOU!” I yelled. “YOU HAVE TWO SECONDS TO UNTIE ME BEFORE-”

“Before what? What the f*** you gon‘ do.You ain‘t even got arms.” He was referring to the rope that was used to tie me up. As much as I didn't want to admit it, he was right.

“Before I scream bloody murder up in this motherf***er!” I said. Sadly, it was the most I could do.

“Gon head. Ain’t nobody gonna hear you but me and the rest of the people in this house.” He spoke so calmly and it pissed me off even more. That was it. I opened my mouth and let out the loudest most piercing scream I could come up with. I wasn’t going to stop until he let me go, that was the goal. At first his reaction was limited. It was almost as if he didn't hear me at all. To tell you the truth, if he had've kept that act up for a little longer I think I might've given up on the screaming but next thing I knew his hands were covering his ears.

“SHUT THE f*** UP!” He yelled at me. I didn’t. I just kept screaming. It caused him to bend down and get in my face. He grabbed me by my throat. “b****, DID I STUDDER? STOP MAKING ALL THAT UNECESSARY NOISE BEFORE I KILL YOU.” He was damn near choking me and I had to get him off. The only logical thing that came to me was to spit at him. It was the only defense I could think of and I didn't have much time to waste. It landed smack in the middle of his cheek, causing him to let go of my neck and instead use his hands to wipe the lougie off of his face. Let me just say: it was a damn nice wad of spit. All my homeboys would've been proud as hell. For a second, I thought I had won. Dude didn't seem to interested in retaliating and more focused on cleaning off his face. Lord, was I wrong. Before I could even see it coming he punched me.. right in my mouth. I immediately tasted the blood that was starting to leak. “Do you not know how disrespectful it is to spit in someones face girl?!” I didn’t answer him. “You’ll learn.” He dissapeared, into what seemed like the bathroom and came back out with a handful of q-tips. Bending down, he used one hand to lift up my chin and the other to clean the wound that he made. It stung but at that point I was numb. “Now.” He stood up and flipped his fitted backwards. “I’mma leave you here until you calm your feisty ass down.” I shook my head no and tears started falling down my face. He couldn't just leave me there.. he wouldn't. But he did, making sure to close the door tightly behind him.
