Can He Love Again???
Chris sat in the front row next to his mom in he black suit. He watched as the pastor spoke sweet words about the love of his life but his mind was in a competely different place. He felt tears slowly but swiftly run down his face as his eyes rested on the body in the casket before him. He felt his younger sister squeeze his hand and smile up at him. He turned to him and gave him a half hearted smile and turned his head back to the pastor. The funeral ceremony went on for what seemed like ages to Chris. In the blink of an eye he found himself back where it all happened. He saw himself walking down the street with his girlfriend, Amber, he smiled at the sight of their happiness. His smile quickly faded when he saw the guy that took Amber's life. He saw the guy point a gun at them and demand money. Chris gave him all he had but it wasnt enough for the guy he wanted more, he wanted someone to suffer for his pain. The guy pointed the gun at Kelly and slowly started pulling the trigger back. Amber jumped infront of the flying bullet, saving Chris' life. She flew back in Chris' arms and the guy ran away before anyone saw who did it. Chris held on to her lifeless body crying silent tears. The bullet went through her head killing instanly, there was no chance of getting her back and Chris knew that, he had lost the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Chris quickly snapped back to reality just in time to see them saying their final words over the closed casket in the cemetery. He slowly walked to it and placed a single white rose on the top
"I love you Amber,always and forever" he whispered he kissed his hand and placed it on the casket
He was trying his hardest not to shed tears. He felt someone place their hand on his shoulder, he turned and saw his older sister. He guided Chris away from the casket as they slowly lowered it into to ground. Smokey Robinson's "Really Gonna Miss You" played softly in the background. Chris then realized she was gone,lost to him forever and he broke down in tears. He would never hold her in his arms,say that he loved her,and never hear her say it back.

Chapter 21
Theresa sat on her bed clutchling the stuff animal that Chris had gotten for a her a few weeks before while she cried. She couldn’t believe he had lied about something so important. The fact that they dated didn’t bother her, she was more upset that he waited so long to tell her. She couldn’t stand to have people keep things from her,especially ones that she was developing feelings for. She took a deep breath and someone knocked on the door
“Go away” she really didn’t feel up to seeing anyone at the moment
Kristal poked her head in anyway. Her happy face turned into a worried one once she saw that Theresa was crying
“Theresa what happened” she held her as she cried on her shoulder
“He lied to me about everything” she finally said in between sobs
“What do you me he lied to you about what” Kristal was seriously confused
“He knew Amber” she wiped her eyes
“Wait your sister Amber” she was still confused
“Yes her and they dated and he just now told me” she started to angrier the more she thought about it
“That’s what you guys were arguing about”
“Yeah”
“That was dumb you got angry over that” Kristal shook her head at Theresa
“How is that dumb he lied to me you know I don’t like when people lie to me”
“Theresa listen he’s not Jason Chris didn’t intentionally lie to you,he told you the truth instead of letting you find out on your own. He cared enough about you to let you know so you should at least listen to what he has to say”
“But-“ Theresa started but Kristal cut her off
“No buts call him and talk to him” Kristal handed Theresa her phone
Theresa sighed and dialed Chris’s number. It rang 3 times before it went to voicemail. She didn’t want to leave a message so she hung up
“He didn’t answer” she threw her phone on the bed and walked out of the room
“Theresa you ok” Chantel asked her as Theresa walked into the kitchen.
“Yeah I’m fine” she walked into the kitchen and saw Lloyd sitting at the table
She rolled her eyes at him. He hadn’t tried anything since that day mainly because anytime he was there so was Chris,who never let Theresa out of his sight. He hadn’t said anything to her or Chris about that night after the club. All he ever did was just look at her. She wasn’t in the mood to feel uncomfortable around him. His presence annoyed her to the 10th degree. She walked past him, without giving one glance his way, towards the refrigerator. She could feel his eyes watching her every move. She opened the refrigerator and pulled out a bottle of Vitamin Water and walked past him again. He grabbed her arm and pulled her close
“Where’s your lil boyfriend” he whispered in her ear
“Don’t you have other girls to harass besides me” she snatched her arm away
“Yeah I do but you’re my favorite” he smugly replied
“Omg Theresa!!!!” Yanna called her from the living room
Theresa walked to the living room and saw everyone with a sad look on their faces
“Whats wrong” she took a sip of her water
“Chris….he was….he was in a really bad car accident” Plies finally told her
She dropped her water to the ground creating a slightly pinkish stain on the white rug. What if he died,she wouldn’t have anyone. First her sister now Chris. It was like God was punishing her for some unknown sin she had commited. She didn’t know what she would do if she lost someone else she loved. She prayed and hoped to God she would be able to tell Chris she loved him and hear him say those words back

“Hey Chris you staying the night again” Toya walked out and saw Chris and Theresa cuddled up on the couch like always
“Yeah you know I am” he smiled at her
“Yeah I figured that you might as well move in as much as you’re over here” she sat down in between them making Chris move his arm and scoot over
“You aint that big you don’t need all that room” Chris tried to move her out of the way
“No need to push I can tell when I’m not wanted some where” she pouted and slowly walked away
“Toya its not like that” Theresa tried to get her to come back
“No I’ll leave you alone with your boyfriend” Toya smiled at them
“He’s not my boyfriend” Theresa said with a smile
“You know I could be” Chris scooted closer to Tiana
“Oooo get it Chris” Toya gave him the thumbs up and walked to her room
Theresa just looked at him while he smirked at her
“What was that” she flipped her hair
“Don’t act like you didn’t hear me I know you did” he grabbed her hand
“Chris are you serious about this” she had her full attention on him
“Yeah I’m very serious”
Just as she was about to answer Chantel,Dustin,Plies,Yanna,Kristal,and Q all walked through the door
“Hey are we interrupting something” Yanna plopped down on the other couch
“Yeah you kind of were” Chris was growing frustrated
“Well sorry mr.cranky pants” Kristal pulled Q towards her room
“So what were we talking about” Plies sat down by Yanna
“Nothing important” Theresa looked at Chris who looked frustrated “We can talk later” she whispered in his ear
“Now we really need to talk right now” he grabbed her hand and walked to her room
Chris closed to the door behind him. Theresa opened her mouth to speak but Chris stopped her
“No just listen to me” he sat her down on her bed and got on his knees in front of her
“Princess you mean a lot to me and I wanna be there for you but you have to trust me,you trust me right”
“Yes I trust you” she smiled
“I need to tell something that I should’ve told you a long time ago” he said with a sigh. He had been dreading this moment for a long time
“What is it I don’t like that face Chris” she looked at him with a worried look
“Its about Amber” he sat by her on the bed and looked down at the floor
“What about Amber” she moved away from him slightly
“Ok before I tell this please don’t be mad at me” he looked at her but couldn’t read her expression he sighed again before he continued “I use to date her and one night I took her to the movies and afterwards we were walking to my car. This guy came up to us and demanded money and he thought I didn’t have enough so he pulled a gun out and right when he pulled the trigger Amber jumped in front of the bullet and saved me. I meant to tell you sooner but I just didn’t know how” he looked at her but again he couldn’t read her expression
He tried to reach for her hand but she snatched it away before he touch her. Her sweet happy face twisted up with an expression that Chris had never seen before
“You knew my sister” she basically yelled at him and jumped up from her seated position
“Yeah I did” he continued to stare at his black Nikes
“How could was I just some kind of substitute for Amber since you couldn’t have her you would try to get with me” her voice changed;she was close to tears
He rose and tried to hug her but she yanked her body away at his touch. Tears started to free fell from her eyes. Chris hated seeing women cry especially ones that he cared about
“Theresa it wasn’t like that” he tried to touch her again but it was no use
“Yes it was I knew you were too good to be true I cant believe you. You probably never even cared about me did you. ANSWER ME” she raised her voice so loud it cause Chris to jump back away from her
Theresa stormed out of her room with Chris right behind her trying to apologize. He grabbed her arm just as she reached the door
“Theresa listen to me please” he tried to plead with her
“No I’ve heard enough” she took her arm away and opened to the door signaling him that she wanted him to leave. He didn’t move so she pushed him out and slammed the door in his face.
“Theresa open the door please” he banged on the door “Princess please just open the door” he softened his tone when he heard her soft sobs on the other side of the door
“Chris please just go away” he heard her lock the door and her footsteps fade away as she walked away from the door
He rested his forehead on the door. He messed up badly. He just wished she would talk to him so he could make it better. He sighed and walked away from the door and got in his car. He started his car as he thought about everything that had just happened. From them being happy then her anger towards him. “You probably never even cared about me” replayed in his mind over and over. That statement cut him the deepest. Even only she knew how much he really did care about her. Tears started to fall and he couldn’t barely see the road. He didn’t even see the 18-wheeler that swirved into his lane from the opposite lane………….

Chapter 18
Chris followed behind his brothers into the living room
“What I wasn’t done eating” Chris crossed his arms and stared at his brothers
“So whats up with you and that girl” Q finally spoke up
“Nothing I just met her its not like I slept with her like that one did” Chris pointed at Plies
“Man it wasn’t even like that” Plies rolled his eyes at his own comment
“Yeah I’m sure it wasn’t” Chris huffed somehow his brothers always knew how to put him a bad mood
“Look we’re not trying get you upset or anything we’re just trying to help” Q said trying to mediate the situation
“Yeah whatever are we done here” he walked back into the kitchen before they could respond
Theresa looked up and saw that Kelly had the same look on his face when she first met him at the club
“Is everything ok” she catiously asked him once he sat down
“Yeah” he barely acknowledge her question as he started to eat his food
Theresa looked at him looking for something to say. She was afraid that anything she said would send him into a fit of rage so she just kept quiet
“Back to square one” she tought to herself as she sighed
She really wanted to be friends and maybe even more but she knew that wouldn’t happen if he kept having these anger episodes. It was like there were two Chrises and she couldn’t deal with the stress of not knowing which Chris she was going to get on what day. She played with her eggs for a little while before she pushed the plate away;she had lost her appetite. She got up from the table and walked back to Chris’s room. She pulled out her clothes and walked into his bathroom and got in the shower
Chris sat there as he watched Theresa walked out the kitchen. He sighed because he knew he needed to stop taking his angry out on her before he pushed her away. He got up and walked to his room. He saw girl clothes spread out across his bed and heard the shower running so he guessed she was in the shower. He layed on his bed and turned the tv back on
“Greedy girl made me miss Garfield” he switched the channel
He heard the shower cut off and Theresa walked out in a towel drying her hair that was straight but was now wavy/semi-curly. Chris fought back the urge to turn into Plies as he watched her walk over,grab her clothes and switch back off into the bathroom.
