“I don’t know about this……………..”
I said checking myself out in the mirror.
Keyshia: Girl, stop freakin. You look fine!
I looked over my [costume]
one more time. It was cute. And I made it look good. But I still wasn’t sure about this.
Me(nervous): So how did you find out about this party anyway. Do you even know the people who throwing it?
Keyshia(smiling): Girl, calm down. They throw the party every year on Halloween night. It’s called a “Nocturna” party. I went last year, and it was poppin. Off the CHAIN. Sexy niggaz all up and THROUGH there. The music was banging, and the dancing was CRAZY!! It’s fun! You’ll love it!!
Me(still nervous): Ion(gco)
Keyshia(reassuring): Girl, you know I got ya back. Trust me!
She smiled at me and I couldn’t help but smile back.
See that was my cousin [Key] (Keyshia Cole)for you. She my best friend. She’s loud and crazy as hell. And ghetto. She’s a year older than me and pretty much like a big sister to me. I was a fresh [Sixteen], and my birthday had just passed September 4th. So I was ready to party and have fun. GET LOOSE, ya digg??
Key drove us downtown which was an area I’m NOT familiar with. We parked a few blocks away from the place I’m guessing because she had us walking for hellas. We came to this old, creepy, scary, dark, grimy [abandoned building] in this dim lighted area. Naturally I got scared. It was suspicious people all around us. It seemed like a bad neighborhood. I froze and Key noticed.
Key(pulling me): Come on………………….
We walked up this dark alley on the side of the building with broken glass and bottles everywhere. We walked to this big door and she knocked 3 times. A slide opened and we saw a pair of eyes.
Voice: Password?
Key: Haunted.
The slide closed and the door opened.
We walked in the building and there was barely any light to see. We went down what seemed like a million steps that kept winding in every direction. Where was she taking me?
What had I gotten myself into?

Chris woke up around 7:30pm………………………………........
He went to the kitchen to get a “red” powerade and went back to his chambers………..
There he found his servant………….
Chris: I have a date tonight and I really wanna impress her………….I need an outfit. Bring some choices from my wardrobe, please.
Servant(bowing): As you wish, my lord.
Chris waited and the servants brought like seven outfits out………….
Chris(looking): Hmm…………………….[that one] looks too dressy………..
He moved on…….

He spotted one all the way at the end of the line. He stepped in front of it and started smiling.
Chris: [This one] is perfect.
He got dressed and hopped in his whip.
He called her.
Alena(smiling): Hey baby.
Chris(smiling): Hey boo. I’m on my way.
Alena: Good. I’m almost ready.
He got to the house and went up to the door. He took a deep breath and knocked. Her mom opened the door.
She kind of looked at me.
Chris(smiling extending his hand): Hi Ms. Carter. I’m Chris, it’s nice to meet you.
She sort of looked at my hand first, then shook it and smiled.
Ms. Carter: It’s nice to meet you, Chris. (stepping aside) Come on in, she’s almost ready.
I walked in and her house was beautiful. Her mom really had taste.
Ms. Carter: Baby, Chris is here.
Alena(from upstairs): Okay, I’ll be right down!
We sat on the couch and her mother was just staring at me. I felt uncomfortable. Shoot, I was already nervous. She intimidated me a little.
Ms. Carter(drilling him): How old are you Chris?
Chris: 19.
Ms. Carter: You really like my daughter?
Chris: Yea. I care about her a lot.
Ms. Carter: So where are you going tonight?
Chris(nervous): I’m taking her to this restaurant downtown…………..
Ms. Carter: What do your parents do for a living?
Chris: They own a lot of property………..
Ms. Carter: Do you have your own place?
Chris: Yes.
Ms. Carter: Where?
Chris: Off of sunset. It’s an apartment.
Ms. Carter: Has my daughter seen your apartment?
Chris: Yes.
Ms. Carter: What?!
Chris: I mean, no.
Ms. Carter: Wha(gco)
Alena came down the steps. She looked beautiful.♥
I couldn’t blink or stop smiling.

Alena: Cleaning up for real…………………..this the first time I really been awake all day………….my mama yelled at me for coming in the house so late this morning………….to tell the truth I can’t even remember what happened. What DID happen?
Chris(nervous): Umm………uhh………….you………….you must’ve been walking to your car……………..and tripped on something in that alley and hit your head……………and when I was walking back to my car…………….I saw you laying there and I panicked cuz I thought something happened…………so I picked you up and you couldn’t remember where you were or where you lived………….so………….I took to my apartment. You must’ve hit yo head pretty hard.
Alena(amazed): Wow………for real………….that makes me sound REAL clumsy…..
Chris(laughing): Nah…it’s aiight ma………..we all fall sometimes………
Alena(laughing at herself): Yea……I guess you right. Well…………..last night I must’ve had a scary azz nightmare cuz I remember a lot of outlandish sh*t. And my throat really hurts……………
Chris got scared again.
Chris(getting nervous so changing the subject): So you just live with your mom?

Chris: *sighs*………..I stay with my momma, my daddy, my uncle, I got a big sister that‘s 22, a big brother that‘s 21, and a little brother that‘s 10. And my cousins, the two niggaz that you see always following me around stay with me too.
(Trey and Shad looked at him like they were about to jump him. He just laughed)
Alena: Dang, you got a big family huh? You’re house must be huge.

Alena: I wish I had a big family like that………………all I had growing up was Keyshia………

They hung up.
Alena hung up the phone biting her bottom lip out of excitement.
