Inside My Love.

I pulled up in front of the large building, adorned with dark LED lights. The parking lot was being swept by a young boy in Jordan's. He couldn't have been much older than me. I tightened the strap on my purse and walked towards the door apprehensively. It had come down to this. I didn't have another option. I knocked softly on the door at first... only for it not to be answered. The boy that was sweeping approached and hit the door loudly with his hand flat. I jumped, startled and looked at him. He tossed me a smirk and went back to sweeping. The door opened and he stood there, looking me up and down.

"...Who referred you?" He asked.

I put my hair behind my ear and parted my lips to say something but nothing came out. I shrugged. He studied me once more and looked me dead in the eye.

"Name?" He asked.

"Veronica... I go by Ronnie." I said softly.

He opened the door wider for me to come in, so I did. I hadn't ever been to one of these places, I'd only heard about them... saw them in movies. I looked around wondrously, and heard the giggles of females arriving and leaving, all of them carrying gym bags. I studied their curves and looked down at myself.

"What you here for..." He asked, dismissively. His eyes didn't dance in my direction, as he strolled casually beside me, checking out everything on the floor - making sure nothing was out of place.

He stopped suddenly and I did too.

"...I need a job," I said, searching his face.

He snickered. "So go to the mall and fill out applications, sweetheart. This isn't something for your resume,"

"I understand that," I said, shaking my head. "I wouldn't be here if I didn't need to be. I need a job," I said, pleading with my eyes.

He scratched his face, as he ruminated. He pointed to the bar. "You start there," He said, before he began to walk.

"I was hoping to dance!" I called after him.

He shook his head, "We'll see,"

I exhaled, and dropped my bag on the floor before the DJ put on some music. I looked around and sat down on one of the bar stools. Well... at least I had a job.

i'm so eager for myself , lol run it (:

i am a super mage fan okey

i am a super mage fan okey

Thanks everyone!

Noooo her mom has lupus, that sucks so bad. My close friend has it and she found out when she pregnat with her 3rd child in 2007. It's a sometimes painful and horrible thing to go through I've witnessed it. And the sad part about it is it's a deadly disease.
I think her mom kept it from her for a reason. She didnt want her to worry. Ronnie does need to get checked, I hope she doesn't have it either.
Aww why do I love Aubrey in this story he's amazing dude. Like even though there not together he could tell when somthing was wrong with her. And he listened and was a shoulder to lean on. Cayden really seems to like him, I hope this doesnt go sour, that little girl and her moms been through enough.
Aww damn she ran into Chris fyne ass at the studio, heyyy lol. He would remember her from the strip club. I hope thats the only interaction they come across again, cause I sense trouble or issues if they see one another again and Aubrey see's it.
Awww she stayed over for the first time ever and even though they have no title it was nice to see them together hugged up and talking in bed. No sexing.
And that little October is a sweet doggie, it was cute when he went to sleep in the room with Cayden awww.
Loved the add as always RUN IT!!!

I hope her mom will be okay. Ooohh she met Chris, but enough of that. I like Drake and her together. Team Donnie!!!
Run it

Wow her mom has lupus??? That some scary s*** mann b/c no one has found a cure yet and people be dying everyday from this disease!!
&& She was finally introduced to Chris HMMMMM????:))

Awwwwwwwww, I love them together!
But God will restore her mother's strength, I just hope that she doesn't have it!

still not sure about chris ..

That is so sad that Ronnie's mom has lupus :( Ronnie should definitely get tested though, lupus is a serious disease. Hopefully Ronnie's mother will be in her and Cayden's life now though. Aubrey is so sweet! He is so good for Ronnie and I like the way he treats Cayden too. Ronnie and Cayden both seem comfortable with Aubrey!! Awww Chris :) I was wondering if he was going to come into the story! He seems nice lol. Can't wait for more!! BUMPS!!!

I'm sorry about her mom's condition, maybe that's why she was too distant from her & Cayden--didnt want to really hurt them and damage their lives to bad. Hopefully Aubrey is right about her being very strong, she should get better soon. I hope Ronnie doesn't have it, that would be bad. /: Aubrey is amazing, they have such a strong chemistry, although he pecks her lips here and there--they have no title. He doesn't make her feel uncomfortable, & that's good. I like him for Ronnie and Cayden. I hope they do go to New York with him, it'll be a nice getaway from things. Oooooh, Chris! He seems sweet too tho. Hmmmm, that won't be the last one she sees him tho....

Run this!

Like for real I don't even want her to interact with Chris because I know that will probably lead to something even if it's a friendship...I just really prefer her to be with Aubrey

i like her with aubrey . so far so good with him . until then i hope chris is nothing more than a friend . glad he was respectful and put the blunt out as soon as cayden walked in . it's upsetting to hear about her mother . no one wants to hear their mother is sick , even if they're not that close to her . i know she's trying to hold it all in for cayden but she can't be so strong forever .

My heart goes out to her...she truly can't get a break. But I'm so glad she has Aubrey to confide in...he really is good for her...and Cayden likes him...that's a plus.

I want her to get with Chris sooooo bad! Just that little interaction they had had so much promise. I hope she doesn't have lupus and that her mom gets better.

Cayden played with October as Drake let me listen to some of the music he was working on. Time was passing and Cayden was getting sleepy, but I didn't feel like driving home.

"Can we stay?" I asked, searching his face.

"You don't have to ask." He responded. "Cayden, you sleepy?" He asked.

She nodded and crawled onto the couch, leaning her head against my chest. October had even lied down on the carpet.

"Come on, I'll get y'all settled upstairs." He said.

I carried a sleepy Cayden upstairs. He brought us some shirts to wear to bed. I laughed when Cayden put hers on. I lied down with her in the guest bedroom and recited one of her favorite poems from heart. She fell asleep and I left her in the room, with the door cracked. October made his way into the room and slept quietly on the floor next to the bed. I walked down the hall to Aubrey's room. He was on the side of the bed, smoking a cigar and drinking a glass of Hennessy.

"Your vices," I said softly.

"Come here," He said, exhaling the smoke and putting the cigar down on the ash tray.

I walked towards him and stood between his legs. He rested his hands on my thighs and looked up at me.

"What's going on with you? You look...lost." He said.

I smothered him with my embrace and sat on his lap, wrapping my legs around him. He hugged me back and I smiled and shook my head.

"I don't wanna talk about it tonight.. I haven't seen you in a week," I said.

He kissed my cheek, "I know. I'm gonna be going to New York next I'll be gone for a little while again."

I frowned a little, "What for?" I asked.

"Video Music Awards." He responded. "...y'all could come if you wanted. I know Cayden won't go back to school until after labor day."

"Is this a pity invitation?" I asked.

"No," He said, chuckling. "I'd like to have you there...we wouldn't spend much time together, but the offer stands if you wanna take Cayden around the city."

"I'll think about it," I said softly before I pecked his lips.

"Will you please tell me what's bothering you?" He whispered.

I looked him in the eye and stayed there for a moment, lost. " mom's sick," I said, my voice a hint beneath a whisper, my eyes watering. "'s worse than she made it seem."

"We underestimate our mother's strength. My mom's sick too. Been sick for a long time. She'll be okay...but she needs you. Remind her that you're here for her." He said.

I nodded, and a tear fell from my eye. He shook his head. "Don't cry, please." He said, wiping it away and placing a kiss there.

He hugged me tightly once more, before we readjusted and got beneath the covers. It was the first night we spent together and he didn't let me go. I didn't sleep much...

Cayden and I walked quietly through the hall, when we got to Studio A. I opened the door, letting Cayden walk in first. Aubrey put out his blunt immediately and spun around in his chair, reaching out his arms for Cayden. She smiled and walked towards him, sliding her feet along the floor, before she went and stood in front of him. She fell into his embrace. I stood back, watching them. There were a lot of people there, and I felt like I was being judged. Cayden leaned against his leg and inquired about all of the buttons on the mixing board. Aubrey explained most of them and even showed her some of the effects.

"So cool!" She shrieked.

He smiled and looked over at me. I smiled with my eyes.

"Cayden let's let Aubrey get back to work." I said. "Want something from the vending machine?"

She nodded and we left the studio to get some snacks. She and I sat out in the hall on the floor, eating snickers bars. Cayden looked over at me.

"Mommy what do you want for your birthday?" She asked.

I laughed, "Just you." I responded.

"I don't have any moneys, but I can make you something! Like a crown." She said, sitting on her knees. "Or like a paper bracelet. Can you buy me some paper?"

I nodded and smiled, "Sure kiddo," I said.

I looked up to see him walking down the hall. Cayden looked up at him and waved.

"Hi!" She said.

"Hey how you doin," He said, smirking, before he glanced at me. "You look real familiar." He said.

I raised an eyebrow, "Is that a line?" I asked.

"Naw like I've actually seen you before. I don't forget a face. What you doin here?" He asked, leaning up against a wall across from me.

He wasn't like I imagined him being. He looked me in the eye when I spoke, and his tone of voice was friendly... soft. His cologne radiated from him. I pointed to the studio.

"Waiting on someone," I said.

He nodded, "Cool.." He said, still staring at me. "Oh I remember," He said, before he looked at Cayden. "You still dance?" He asked softly.

I shook my head, embarrassed that that was where he knew me from.

"Good." He responded, before he smiled at Cayden and walked off down the hall.

I let my eyes follow his footsteps, before the door to the studio opened. Aubrey came out, with his entourage following.

"You're out early," I said, looking at my watch.

"Cut the session short." He responded.

Cayden hopped up and hung on his legs as everyone came out of the studio. He stopped a few people and introduced me. No title. Just my name. He pecked my lips and grabbed Cayden's hand before we walked down the hall.

"Y'all coming over?" He asked.

Cayden nodded, "Yes! So I can play with October." She said.

"The queen has spoken," He said.

I hadn't told Aubrey about my mother yet... and as much as I played it off, it was eating me up inside. I thought about it a lot lately, and her warning about me getting tested. Even then, with Aubrey, it was hard to force the thought out of my mind.

When she was awake and eating when I entered the room and fell short of breath. I hadn't seen my mother in a year. She looked up from her pudding, and let her eyes fall to Cayden. Cayden walked to the side of the bed.

"Hi grandma." She said, putting her hand over my mother's. "Are you gonna be okay?" She asked, her face swelling with tears. "I don't like you like this."

My mom's eyes filled with tears and she nodded and rubbed Cayden's head, "I'm okay baby."

She looked at me, and I looked painfully back at her. We'd fallen out a year earlier, when I asked her how to contact my father. She got offended, and I think I hurt her feelings...but it had nothing to do with her.

"You were the first person I thought of when I hit the floor," She said, looking over at me.

" long have you been like this, ma?" I asked.

"Since you turned 14." She responded. "Those basketball games I missed... not 'cause I had to work. I couldn't get out of bed." She said softly.

I walked towards her and sat on the bed. Cayden leaned against the bed, her eyes glued to my mother. I rubbed her head.

"Are you really gonna be okay?" I asked.

She nodded. "I ain't goin nowhere." She said.

I smiled and kissed her forehead. I looked down at Cayden who smiled up at me.

"Grandma will you come over now?" She asked.

My mother nodded, "Sure. I've got some things for you at my house." She said. "You still like lemon heads?"

Cayden's eyes lit up and she nodded, "My favorite!" She said.

"Good. I got some for you at home." She said.

I smiled between the two of them before my mom's face fell a little. "Ronnie," She said softly.

I looked at her. My mom looked at Cayden, "Cayden baby go look for my socks over there in that drawer."

Cayden did as she was told and my mother looked at me, her face serious.

"I need you to get tested," She said softly.

"For what?" I asked, searching her face.

"Lupus.. it can be hereditary. I don't want you going through this with Cayden having to see you like this." She said, bags beneath her eyes.

I let the thought leave my mind and wiped my mom's cheek, "Want me to braid your hair?" I asked softly.

She nodded and smiled a little, "Come on," She said.

I stood up and grabbed the comb, as Cayden came back with the socks.

Every once in a while, I add music to an add... if you wanna hear what I was listening to when I wrote this: Breathe

I held Cayden's hand and opened the door to my apartment. I walked inside and shut the door. Cayden went off to her room and I put my phone down on the dining room table. I went into the kitchen and grabbed some things from the freezer to make for dinner. I put my hair up into a ponytail when I heard my cell phone vibrating on the living room table. I left the kitchen and grabbed the phone. An unknown number. I pressed send.

"Is this Veronica Monroe?" A female voice said.

"Yeah, it's me." I responded, looking at Cayden who came back out into the living room.

"I'm calling about your mother, Nicole Monroe," She started.

"What about her?" I asked, worried now.

"She fell ill at work, and was rushed to the hospital. Your number was the only number listed on her emergency contact list." She responded.

"Cayden put on your shoes!" I shrieked. "What hospital?" I asked, frantic.

I went to the door and put on my shoes, as the woman told me what hospital and floor to go to. I ran out of the door... with Cayden running at my side, and food unthawing on the counter. We hopped in the car, my face soaked with tears. I sped over to the hospital and ran to the nurse's station when I got to the floor. They pointed me in the direction of the room. I grabbed Cayden's hand. She was crying too...she didn't know why, but she hadn't seen me upset like this. I was walking towards the door just as my mom's doctor was coming out of the room.

"I'm Nicole's daughter. Is she okay?" I asked.

His face was rather stoic, so I didn't know what to really expect. "Well she's been having a lot of migraines, from what her coworkers have said...she gets tired easily, which is characteristic of her condition."

"...condition? What condition?" I asked, genuinely confused.

His lips parted. "Your mother has lupus. I was under the impression that you were aware."

My heart fell into my stomach. Cayden looked up at me and I shook my head, "No...she never told me." I whispered. "When can I see her?"

"She's recovering right now. We just put her on antibiotics. Give her about an hour or two." He said, putting his hand on my shoulder.

I plopped down in the chair outside of the room and Cayden crawled onto my lap and lied her head against my chest. I rubbed her back and stared blankly out in front of me.

i hope ! i'm so eager to see what happens with her and aubrey and carter's worthless behind

Sorry! I got caught up last night, but there will definitely be an add later.

ready for that update . i'm on the edge of my seat with this story . i get so excited when i see an add .

run it!!! yay.

Maam I will give my full thoughts later but I'm in love with this story...

I'll add tonight!

run it

I'm so happy you're back with a story!

Love the story already!

Carter is one sorry son of a b***h. How dare he do that to Cayden! She was really starting to like him and he just leaves because he's not ready?! What? I don't think so. He is so wrong for this and Cayden WILL remember him leaving her. She is old enough to remember when people come in and out of her life. It's sad that Carter doesn't want to see his daughter grow up, he is missing out because she is beautiful! I'm just glad that Ronnie has Aubrey now. He seems to genuinely care about her and Cayden and it was so sweet that he bought her a coloring book. I like Aubrey for Ronnie and I wouldn't mind if Carter was never in the picture again. RUN IT!!!
