“Just a few days before our first day of college, you excited?” Omari asked looking over at his girlfriend of one year and best-friend of seven.
“Yeah…I guess.” Dominique mumbled looking out the window
“Baby please don’t be like that, I know you wanted to go to UNC but USC is a really good school too.”
“Omari I could care less about the education because I’m going to get one regardless, I just had my heart set on being a Tar Heel ever since I can remember. Playing soccer for them was a dream and now I’m going to be playing for a school who isn’t even ranked. So could you please let me sit over here and mope?” she asked looking over at him.
Omari let out a sigh as he got off on the very next exit. He pulled off to the side and put the car in park.
“And in other NCAA sports related news Christopher Brown has officially been taken off of U of A’s roster. This is a complete shocker to the college basketball world! A definite shoe-in for the NBA has literally disappeared off the face of the planet. We’ve tried reaching out to the university but…”
Omari cut the radio off and looked to Dominique.
“Babe forgive me if I’m trying to put you in a better mood, but USC was the best choice for me. I swear to God I appreciate the sacrifice you made to be with me. But sweetie I want to go pro and this was the very best way.”
“Omari you were the number one running back in the nation, you put every single personal stat and national record to shame. You could’ve went to a school that had a class size of only the football team and you’d still get drafted!” Dominique explained irritated.
“But you’re the number one midfielder in the nation, so why not put your skills to use and get USC ranked?”
“Please leave my ego be.” She said rolling her eyes.
“What I gotta do to make you happy?”
“Keep driving and let me adjust to this at my own pace.” She said reaching in the back to grab a pillow.
Omari watched her turn in her seat towards the window while snuggling up to the pillow. He sat there for a second and let the guilt eat at him. She was right, he could’ve went to any school especially UNC who was also throwing offers at him, and he would’ve been drafted. He knew she knew he was bulls***ting her about great opportunities. In all honesty he wanted to move from the country. Austin was cool but not where he wanted to be, he wanted the glitz and glam the City of Angels had to offer. He wanted that celebrity feeling he knew he’d get playing for USC. He wanted her right there by his side to experience it with him. Two national number ones on one another’s arm would’ve been a good look for them. Constantly on Sports Center, sharing the cover of ESPN and Sports Illustrated magazine, the sky was the limit for this power couple. But above all else he loved her and couldn’t imagine them an entire country apart from one another. Omari would’ve absolutely died if she were to fall in love with another man, especially if it were his fault and selfishness had anything to do with it.
“Baby” he said reaching over and touching her shoulder.
“What Omari?” she grumbled half asleep into the pillow.
“Come to the back with me.” He said unbuckling his seatbelt and moving to the back of his Range Rover.
She rolled her eyes as she did as he requested. Omari was leaning up against the window with his legs stretched out and Dominique climbed in between them and laid up against his chest. They sat there for a few minutes in silence.
“Dominique I love you with all my heart baby and it’s killing me that you’re unhappy because of a decision I made and begged you to make. I need you sweetheart, I mean I could do this without you but nowhere near my fullest potential. I’d probably get my scholarship pulled from how horrible I’d be playing.”
“It’s ok Omari, I just need some time to adjust. I’m sure I’ll be happy here, I just have to get over the fact that my mascot is a damn condom.”
“It’s not a condom baby, it’s a Trojan.” Omari said laughing.
“Well when I think of Trojan I think of the condom.”
“I don’t see how.” Omari joked grinning.
“Just cause I don’t f*** don’t mean I don’t watch TV Ishmael. All of those ridiculous commercials it’s hard not to notice.” She said irritated.
“I’m just kidding baby, chill with the Ishmael.” He laughed again knowing that he was upsetting her from her use of his middle name.
“Whatever, so why we back here anyways?”
“Multiple reasons main one being that I just wanted to hold you for a little while. Secondly I’m a little tired from all the driving.”
“Who wanted to drive though?”
“Me but I just wanted to spend more time with you on this little road trip. If I’d of known you would’ve been acting like this I would’ve had my s*** shipped too and dealt with you on that short ass flight.” Omari teased through laughs.
Dominique quickly spun around in his arms and kept hitting him in his arms and chest. Omari was laughing the whole time while trying to contain her arms.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I was just kidding baby.” He said still laughing.
“You play too damn much.” She laughed straddling his lap.
“But you still love me so deal with it.” He said leaning forward with his hands on her hips.
“Keep it up with that smart ass mouth of yours and I’ll be loving you from North Carolina.”
“Don’t play babe.” Omari said getting serious and making Dominique laugh even more.
He knew this to be true because just the day before they left UNC was calling her to make sure that she was completely sure about her decision.
“Now it’s your turn to stop tripping cause you know I ain’t leaving you.”
“You bet not break my heart like that.” Omari said leaning forward kissing her lips that were formed into a smile.
After a sweet make-out session the two sat there holding one another, having meaningless conversation and sharing laughs. The two were content with one another’s presence.
“Ok you, it’s time to go.” Dominique said getting off of his lap and making her way to the passenger seat.
“But I was enjoying myself.” Omari complained from the back.
“I was too but we gotta go baby, we’re only 6 hours or so out.”
“You say it like it’s not a long time.” Omari said making his way to the driver’s seat.
“It’s not” she said snuggling back up to her pillow but this time facing Omari.
“That’s because you’re not driving.” Omari huffed.
“Then maybe you should’ve listened when I told you we should fly.” She teased laughing.
“f*** you man” Omari laughed.
“Maybe one day.” She grinned.
Omari nodded his head while gazing at her.
“Given your past I know that this must be hard for you, but I really do appreciate your efforts and how patient you’re being with me.”
“It’s nothing ma, I love you and if you want to wait to make love then I’m willing to wait until you’re ready. Even if you want to wait these next four years until we get married I’ll gladly do it.” Omari smiled meaning every word he said.
“Trust me it won’t be that long.”
“No?” he smiled.
She smiled back and shook her head no.
“Can I get a round about time frame so I know when I need to be ready?”
“Nope, it’ll just have to be a surprise. Hold up…what you mean be ready?”
“Well I don’t want to disappoint you so I’ve been practicing to keep myself up to par. High five!” Omari said reaching out with his right hand.
“Eww baby that’s gross.” Dominique laughed shoving his hand away.
“No it’s not, that s*** is natural.” Omari said putting the truck in drive.
(((7 Hours Later)))
The two arrived in Los Angeles and looked around impressed with what they saw. Omari followed the directions his navigation gave to the USC campus. They pulled up in front of a building that the navigation led them to and out front were a few students. They looked older as if they’d been attending for at least a year or two. They held a certain presence about them that screamed confidence. Only a few things could give off that feeling without words, popularity, money, or athletes. In this case it was all three. Omari rushed around to the other side of his truck to help Dominique out.
“Omari Grandberry and Dominique DeLorme it’s a pleasure to finally have you here.” One of the guys greeted smiling, descending the steps.

LoL, ok seriously this time, add coming very shortly. Almost done editing it.
Thanks for showing me love again ladies! Add coming soon!
Gone girl!!!! RUN IT!
Dom's endurance is crazy! Lol but I'm glad she wants to make her team better. They need to take in everything she's doing so they can be better. I'm ready to see them in action when they finally play. And poor Omari, they remind him every chance they get of his f*ck up. The dynamic of O in the beginning and how he knew what he had in Dom to now is just sad. He was confident in his relationship and faithfulness and let the attention or lack there of get to his head. She trusted him and he blew it. Over Nicki wit her loose walls. Gross. Happy she found a good friend in Chris to replace that. Their relationship is pure, innocent and genuine. I just want to see their friendship tested. That's why I wanna see what it's like if Chris were to meet a new "friend". See if Dom has potential to get jealous. I wanna see more emotion in that sense out of her.
Run it!!!
I love how dedicated she is and how she pushes those around her to do better for themselves...I hope Omari don't do anything stupid though...Zoe, Riley, and the other girls needed that though
I love this story ! I purposely like the pace of this story just cuz I don't want it to end! Plus I think them dating is just rushing the story, like O said he doesn't doubt they are friends cuz they too used to be just as close. Run it run it
She is f***in perfect...I'm jealous lol...
Run it!
RunIt!!!
That girl is dedicated af! I literally loved this add, gave me an idea of what their practices are like and its just like mine. Swear, I have my coaches making our girls run too! I mean how is it that you're a soccer player and can't run? That's all soccer is, its RUNNING! Just like Dom, I get mad when people are trying to catch their breaths as well, especially since I, just like her, have asthma and still can outrun someone. I'm glad she's building up her team though, because when they're season actually starts, she'll start putting her school on the map. I mean, wasn't she mad in the beginning of the story because their soccer team sucked? Now is her chance to take them to the top. I loved how she was doing all this extra stuff while running as well. Like she literally had free time to do everything while the team was trying to catch up. Her mind games is what gets people moving and everyone knows that. Her coaches are all for what she does too. Omari, I saw how you were acting with Chris. Take a chill pill my dude. You obviously lost your chance. Now stop worrying about him and what he does with Dom and worry about yourself. Once again, I love this.
Run it chica!

(((Monday Afternoon)))
“It’s that time fresh-meat!” Riley teased grinning.
“What you got in store for this mighty squad?” Veronica asked.
“We ain’t mighty yet, but we will be, soon.” Dominique smiled as they walked towards the locker room together.
“See you tonight?” Chris yelled from across the quad.
Dominique shook her head and held up four fingers on each hand.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Drake asked.
“Eight o’clock tonight.”
“But it’s only two, what they gonna be doing for the next few hours?”
Chris didn’t reply with words, but he did laugh.
(((On the practice field)))
As the team approached the coaches standing at the sidelines laughing, Dominique was already standing next to them, stretching, in running shoes instead of cleats.
“Change of plans today and possibly for the rest of this week. Dominique has brought it to our attention by way of statistics where our downfall lies. We’re strong but not strong enough. Smarter than every opponent we face, but not always as fast or in enough shape to endure a full high speed high intensity game which brings us back to our weakness. We can outwit them but we don’t have the endurance to keep with our strategy.” Coach Ali explained.
“How convenient” Zoe smirked
“Seriously Zoe, how fast can you run a mile?”
“Just under six minutes.”
“Well I can run one in just over three minutes and run three in fifteen. Until ya’ll can keep up with me then we won’t be a force. Once you can we’ll be unstoppable.” Dominique explained.
“So what is everyone suggesting we do about this situation?” Riley asked.
“Lots of conditioning and seeing as Dominique is our best runner she volunteered to be the one leading the training for the next few days.”
“Ladies if you’ll change into your running shoes we can begin.”
They all smirked at her while turning around.
“Quickly please” Dominique said clapping her hands together.
“Real cute” Veronica said shaking her head.
After they changed shoes they went to the middle of the field to stretch. Dominique began jogging around the field.
“Coach!” Zoe called.
He jogged over to the circle ready for their b****ing.
“So exactly what are we going to be doing today?” Veronica asked.
“Well um…it’s kind of just a big game of tag. Dominique will run and one of you will have to tag her, but she gets to pick the route and speed.”
“For how long?”
“Until one of you catches her or til she calls it quits and if that’s the case we start again tomorrow.”
“And when does this little training begin?”
“Ya’ll ready?” Dominique asked jogging up, adjusting her iPhone attached to her arm but using the iPod on it.
“You sure you wanna do this? No offense at all Dom but you don’t think an asthma attack is possible do you?” Zoe asked.
“Maybe, but it’s less likely since I’ve got these.” She said releasing two inhalers that hung on strings from her wrist. “Let’s roll” she said running off.
The girls rolled their eyes as they stood and began chasing after Dominique. She hopped over a fence effortlessly and began walking when her team came to a quick stop and began walking along the fence line.
“This is your ingenious plan? Run us?” Zoe smiled walking along the fence.
“It’s funny now, but give it an hour. Bet that smile will be long gone.” Dominique said walking along the fence with them.
“What the hell are you guys doing?! RUN!” Coach Ali shouted.
“This isn’t just a one time thing you know.” Dominique smiled. “I get to do this whenever I want or whenever a decent amount of you heal. Because I WILL break you today.”
“Not a chance” Riley said backing away from the fence ready to jump it.
“I’ve never seen all of this campus…think I’ll accomplish that today. Might even hit up the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.”
“The f***?!” half the team shouted.
“Look ya’ll” Chris said pointing at the soccer practice field.
“Think of me as the Ginger Bread Woman.” She giggled as she readjusted her headphones, all the while keeping an eye on Riley. “Catch me if you can.” She said backing up, watching Riley hop over the fence followed by the team.
Dominique sprinted off with her team not too far behind her. She looked over her shoulder, smiled, then turned her jets on and made some serious distance between them. The basketball team was laughing hysterically as they went back to messing around before practice.
::4 Minutes Later::
“Hey guys” Dominique said approaching them, sweating, breathing heavily.
“What you doing here babygirl?” Chris laughed.
“Oh…you know…” she shrugged as she rested against Chris’s truck.
“Ok, so how you feeling?”
“Good” she said after taking a puff of her inhaler.
“You sure you should be doing this?”
“Positive, they’ll give up on the pace soon and then I’ll just stay far enough ahead of them so they can see where I’m at...maybe. Kinda making this s*** up as I go. No matter what I do, they won’t catch me.”
“Pretty c**ky” Drake chuckled.
“Numbers don’t lie and I’ve done up statistics on every last one of them. I got this.” She said looking past everyone. “Uh oh, the veteran forward is making an appearance. She’s good but can only do so much because coach allowed her to be lazy. Stand back cause she about to lose her lunch. Might be back before eight.” Dominique said kissing Chris quickly on the cheek before running off.
They watched as Dominique made sure she was close enough to almost be touched but keep the girl sprinting too. Which she did, in hopes of catching Dominique and ending all of this. After a few cuts, slants, and swerves, Dominique went running past the basketball team again and sure enough the forward vomited just before she made it to them.
“Ooooohhhhh!” they all said with a fist up to their mouth.
Dominique was cracking up but took off running again.
::2 Hours Later::
“Am I going crazy or did Dominique just run up in here?” Omari asked pointing to an entrance.
The football team looked and watched as Dominique jogged from the entrance towards the stairs. She jogged a slow jog down the steps then drank water from the Camel Back drinking system hanging from her shoulders. Once she was done with that she took another puff of her inhaler. That’s when she noticed that most of the football team was staring at her. She gave them a head nod and a wave before she began doing bleacher drills. All the way up as fast as you could, back down to the bottom at half that pace, then do it all over again. She had reached the top twice before she made a call. “At the Coliseum” She said before she hung up and jogged off back to the top to run laps inside the stadium but behind the seats. The coach Pete Carroll sent someone to the top to ask her to come down to the field.
“Dominique….Dominique….DOMINIQUE!” the water boy finally shouted as he jogged behind her.
“What up?” she asked stopping, taking her earphones out.
“Coach Pete wants to talk to you.”
“Ok” she said as she jogged off again, down the steps, and with a quick hop over the railing and onto the field.
She grabbed the bottom of her shirt and wiped the sweat from her face before letting it drop from her hands. Then she took a hold of the camel back straw and drank as she walked right up to Pete.
“Hello again”
“Coach”
“May I ask what you’re doing down here?”
“Practicing, just like you.”
“If you’re practicing then where’s your team? Where’s the soccer balls and your coaches?”
“We’re practicing running today.”
“Ok then, so where’s your team?”
“They could be anywhere.”
“Shouldn’t you know where your team is?”
“Not today, they need to know where I am.”
“Oh?” he grinned crossing his arms over his chest.
“Yes, I’m exploiting my team’s weakness in the most painful manner that I can.”
“Not afraid someone will get hurt?”
“I’m more afraid they won’t be up to par against San Diego State for our first scrimmage game.”
“You’re cruel”
“I’m a contender”
“Scrimmages don’t matter though.”
“Scrimmages are a great tool for learning and for showing strength.”
“No one plays a hundred percent during scrimmages.”
“True, so if we’re not playing a hundred percent and we still have the team wishing the game would end by the first quarter, what do you think that says to our opponents?”
“Either you’re a force or you’re bluffing, cause no one shows all of their strengths during a scrimmage game.”
“And they won’t know either way because TV can only tell you so much, you won’t know until you play us or the real season starts. We’ll be underestimated every time and we will win every time it happens.”
“Sounds good, but can you pull it off?”
“I’m trying, which is why I’m not worried about anyone getting hurt today or tomorrow or the next day. They’ll heal in time and they’ll be stronger.”
“You’re a tough little cookie.”
“Gotta be, too competitive to willingly accept loss as an option.”
“So how can you be so sure this endurance training will work?”
“Because I’ve done my homework on my teammates, I know where they’re strong, where they’re weak, where they succeed and where they fail, and at approximately what time it’ll happen.”
“Why would you know all of this?”
“Gotta know when you can’t count on someone. Why pass the ball to someone you know is trying to catch their breath instead of someone who isn’t quite as open but has a little more juice to give?”
“Smart girl”
“So smart I could even help you out with your stuff if you’d like.”
“Oh no little lady, I think I got this.”
“Sure you do” she giggled. “You just let me know and I can tell you anything you need to know.”
“How about right now smarty pants?” Pete chuckled.
“Wish I could coach but I don’t know if I have the time.”
“Why?”
“Because my team is probably already on their way here.”
“Wait, you ran here from school?”
“Big deal it’s less than a mile.”
“So then where’s your team?”
“Maybe somewhere on campus, but definitely headed this way.”
“Why don’t you know?”
“Because we ran around the school first then all through it til I was able to get them all off my back. Then I ran here.”
“Where you going next?”
“Staples Center”
“What?!”
“It’s only like…two and a half miles give or take because of the route. But…f*** it I probably got a second since they know where I’m at.”
“How you figure?”
“They’re gonna try to set up some sort of plan to have me exit out of a specific entrance so someone can catch me.”
“What happens when they catch you?”
“We stop running, but that’s not going down any time soon. So what play would you like to run?” she asked reaching for his playbook.
“This one” he pointed. “Can’t seem to get it right. We can get a few yards off of it but it’s built to get at least fifteen yards if not a touchdown.
“Get your defense and offense you’re using to practice this out here then run the play.”
Pete did as she asked, the players and coaches stood off to the sidelines laughing and joking as Dominique stood back and watched. As soon as the play ended she began to see her team appear at the very top of the stadium.
“s***! Hurry up and line back up! Now this won’t be an exact science because I can’t calculate how your opponents operate until I see a tape, BUT you move your leg here, you sit up just a little more like this you two get tighter, QB take a step back and to the left an inch, Center guy you need to put as much power into the snap as you got, Omari Shaffer stand further from the QB but be closer together, I’m talking maybe a foot apart and to his right by half a foot, eight inches at the most. I’ll explain why it worked later, but now I gotta go.” She said running off of the field into a breezeway.
The soccer team began running down the steps and some went back out the way that they came in hopes of surrounding her.
“Focus boys” Pete said as they began laughing.
“HIKE!”
They ran the play and Shaffer ran the ball in for fifty plus yards. The team moved back to the same spot, ran the play again, and even though the defense knew what to expect Shaffer still ran the ball for fifty plus yards and even ran it in for a touchdown.
“How the f*** did she do that?!” someone on defense said in disbelief.
Dominique came running out of a different breezeway and up to Coach Pete Carroll.
“Did it work?” she asked out of breath, pulling in a puff of her inhaler, while moving backwards towards an exit.
“Like magic!” he smiled widely.
“Cool, do me a favor and tell them I’m going to the Staples Center now.” She said turning to run away.
“Wait! You gotta tell me how you did that.” He requested stopping her.
“Physics, I’ll stop by tomorrow.” She said running off.
“I’ll be waiting.” He yelled.
“Ok cool” She shouted as she ran off.
“How is she able to run like that with asthma?”
“She’s been running cross country since JR High school so she could figure out how to control it better and to become a better soccer player. Once she sets her mind to something she achieves it.” Omari explained.
“Might have to pay her to be one of my coaches.”
“Won’t happen” Omari laughed.
“Everyone has a price.”
“School already outbid you by giving her a free education and soccer for the next four years.”
“You’re serious?”
“As serious as a heart attack followed by a stroke.”
Pete looked like he wanted to ask Omari why and how he could let a girl like Dominique go.
“Please…don’t Coach.”
Pete nodded his head and Omari ran off to the sidelines.
“Where’d she go?” Riley asked running up to Pete. “Please tell me you know.” She said with her hands on her knees, panting, body dripping with sweat.
“Jesus girly, you need to sit down? You don’t look too good.”
“Damn that Coach, where’d she go?”
“Staple’s Center” he said grinning.
“What?! That’s like three miles from here.”
“Two and a half actually give or take, depends on the route.”
Riley stood all the way up grilling Pete the entire time.
“Where she at?” Veronica asked as she and a few other teammates ran up to Riley.
“She’s on her way to the f***ing Staple’s Center.”
“f***!” one of the girls shouted before she ran off, followed by the rest of the girls.
The entire football team was dying laughing.
“What could a freshman possibly do?” one of the girls huffed out sarcastically. “Next time, leave her the f*** alone!” she said sprinting away from the pack.
::2 More Hours Later::
The sun was going down and Dominique was jogging at a nice and easy pace back to the school. The team had given up, found the coaches, and told them that this training session was over. That they honestly couldn’t do it no more. Once Dominique received the call, she laughed for a few minutes then made her way back to school. But before she hung up she requested that her bag be ready for immediate pick up. Some of the basketball team was in the parking lot in their practice clothes, a few football players too just because they wanted to see the aftermath. Dominique stopped running a couple of yards before she approached her team who was sitting down, leaned up against the fence, moaning and groaning, nursing random parts of their body. They all became furious with her when they saw that she was laughing. They all knew she ran way more than them and the only evidence was an excessive amount of sweat. Their evidence was pain.
“Why don’t you shut the hell up Dominique!” Zoe said rubbing her thighs.
“I see ya’ll wanna do this again tomorrow.” She laughed.
“NO!” they all said in unison.
“No” she mocked laughing, taking off her shirt.
She wrung it out and everyone watched as sweat flowed from her shirt.
“Damn Dominique” Stephen commented checking her out.
“I know right. I can do laundry on these b****es.” She said rubbing her hand up and down her abs, collecting a little sweat on her index finger, then flicking it away.
“Are we done here?” Zoe asked rudely, standing to her tender feet, with the assistance of the fence.
“For today, sure.” Dominique smirked.
“I don’t like your attitude.”
“Well I’m not very fond of yours at the moment either.” Dominique said grabbing her bag from one of the assistant coaches and turning to walk away. “See ya’ll tomorrow, be sure to have on running shoes again.”
“What the f*** Dominique?!” Riley shouted limping towards her.
“What?” Dominique asked turning around.
“You think this s*** is funny? What the f*** are you trying to prove? You got us back for Saturday, we get it, we’ll leave you and Chris alone. This s*** doesn’t need to continue tomorrow or anymore!” Riley said up in Dominique’s face.
“Riley I’m saying this only because you’re my teammate and I consider you a friend, so you get a heads up. Get the f*** out my face.”
Riley hesitated but moved, then went against her decision and got right back up in Dominique’s face.
“I don’t know who you think you are but you ain’t…”
Dominique gave Riley a little shove and her legs buckled beneath her.
“Look at you” Dominique said looking down at Riley who was too weak to stand back up. “All of you have some serious f***ing nerve being mad at me because I find this situation funny. What am I trying to prove Riley? Nothing that the whole lot of you haven’t already proven. You’re f***ing weak. Yeah I was having my fun today but this HAD to happen! Definitely not at this pace, we were supposed to gradually work up to running to and around downtown, but oh f***ing well I did it anyways. Ok so you’re hurt, once again, oh well. You’re training to be the best, it’s supposed to hurt!”
“Dominique you went above and beyond today.” Zoe tried to explain.
“Just a little, but have any one of you asked yourself why someone with asthma is out running you? Gut check ladies. Goodnight.” She said walking towards Chris. “Ready?” she asked digging in her bag for a shirt.
“Yeah” he said taking her bag after she was done with it. “You sure you wanna leave with this much anger between ya’ll?”
Everyone watched Dominique look back at her team and her team look right back at her.
“I don’t give a f***, they can be mad on their own time.” She said getting in his truck then closing the door.
Chris put her bag in the very back then went up to the driver’s side, got in, and pulled off.
“What a f***ing b****!” One of the forward’s commented.
“Don’t talk about her like that!” Zoe said angered.
“How you gonna take up for her after what she just did?” she asked limping up to Zoe.
“Because she’s right! How we gonna be mad at her because she has the ability to hurt us with something we should already be able to do? She ran and enjoyed the activity more than she did making us feel pain. Why was that fun to her and pain to us?!”
Everyone was silent.
“Why the hell shouldn’t she find it funny that not only we can’t keep up with her but that we’re in pain from trying to do so? While we were jogging and walking around looking for her she was running up and down stairs at the Coliseum. She was even running laps around the field while we were stretching. She did all of that running plus some and all we could do was b****. She was done f***ing with us about Saturday after Irene puked in front of the basketball team.”
“At least I was trying to catch her!”
“Like we weren’t!” Zoe yelled back. “You just threw up before us. Trust, all of us got sick! We all fell at some point and we all felt the need to stop after someone started crying because it hurt too much. Then we quit and spent twenty minutes begging coach to make her stop. Twenty minutes she was still out and about running. Then she ran BACK from wherever she was at! What in the f*** do we have to b**** about?!”
“Damn, babygirl got them fighting and she ain’t even here.” Shaffer whispered to Omari.
“It’s called mind games, she’s very good at them.” Omari chuckled.
“Got me convinced” Trey expressed.
“Not hard to do when you’re Dominique DeLorme.” Omari laughed walking away to his truck.
“So is she pissed or what? Should someone go make sure she’s ok?” Trey asked.
“No need for your assistance, she’s got Chris.” Drake commented. “Whoops” Drake said after he noticed people watching Omari who got in his truck while slamming his door. “Oh well, maybe you shouldn’t have cheated nigga.” He said as Omari pulled away.
(((Tuesday)))
“You still plan on practicing today?” Chris asked as he walked her to her truck.
“I plan on exercising and I predict that my team won’t be up for it.” she said grabbing her bag out of her truck.
“You sure you know what you’re doing?” Chris asked.
“Either I break them or another team does. I’d rather they’d be embarrassed now instead of later.”
“Ok, see you after practice. Gonna ice my ankle up again?” he smiled.
“As long as you ice my knee.” She smiled back walking away.
“What are you up to?”
“s*** nigga! Chill on that sneakin’ up s***!” Chris said looking down at Omari.
“f*** all that, what you up to?”
“What you mean what I’m up to?”
“You had pussy galore to deal with and then all of a sudden you switch schools and want nothing to do with any woman except Dominique? What’s your angle?”
“There’s no angle Omari.” Chris said rolling his eyes.
“You expect me to believe you gave up all those women for Dominique?”
“No I gave up all that bulls*** before I met Dominique. You’re the one that tried to give up all the women for Dominique. Guess I went about being her real friend the right way.”
“You try any funny s*** nigga and that’s your ass.”
“Oh really?”
“Yes really” Omari said before he shoulder bumped him walking away.
“b****” Chris said as he walked away.
Dominique walked into an empty locker room and didn’t think anything of it. She changed over then went out onto the field and saw the entire team stretching as best they could. She saw that they were in pain but still trying.
“Another silent treatment or are ya’ll trying harder?”
“We’re gonna put out without b****ing Dom. We’re sorry.” Riley apologized.
“Cool” she said sitting down on the ground.
She started stretching and the coaches approached them.
“You still handling the training schedule Dominique?” Coach Ali asked.
“Naw, I’ma go for a run. You should probably get the girls some ice baths, heat treatments, and a good deep tissue massage.” Dominique replied going into a split and stretching her legs and groin.
“I bet Omari loved that.” Veronica said shaking her head side to side.
“He never got the chance.” Dominique replied without interrupting her stretch.
“So…what…now you pushing us off on the trainers or something?” one of the forwards asked.
“No, I just don’t need their attention. I’m gonna go run and stay up to par. Ya’ll gonna go get treatment to whatever hurts because at least four of you pulled a muscle. The rest of you are hurt and need to get better. No need in breaking ya’ll down like that. You’re my teammates.” Dominique explained as she continued to stretch then stood.
“Get better” she said before she ran off.
I absolutely LOVED the comments! Keep them coming cause nothing makes me feel better than to know someone out there enjoys my work. Plus ya'll funny as all hell! I see I'm not the only one with a screwy train of thought. LoL Add coming shortly.
I really want Omari to prove her wrong because I don't like them beefing like this :( Nicki stupid brah she be setting herself up for that kill smh poor child...Chris and Dom need to just get together they make an awesome couple
Lol.. Yeah thats her..
The I posted a pic of the Dom I envisioned.. Catya from season 6 of bad girls club. But just change her eye coloer to gray. Lol.
That's Jasmine?! That doesn't even look like her! She's not as cute in real life as she was in that pic. That must've been taken before she became a whore. Lmao. Well just her face then. Imma find another Dom to envision
I agree with Tiffany....
Chris is worried about Omari taking his spot. They need to stop pretending and get together.
I wonder how Chris would react to a normal female approaching him. But I feel like Chris is so smitten with Dom that even if a normal girl did approach him, he wouldnt give her as much attention as he gives to Dom.
Let's see some passion in them!
@Tiff, The girl is Jasmine Sanders. She's a model and the ex girlfriend of the real Chris. But she's real petite with like no curves..
Dom is a thick little something if she got niggas staring at her ass and s***.
When I think of Dom I think of her. Just with Gray eyes.. But thats just me.
Run it!
Run it ! Great Writing. Chris need to snatch that up before O gets back in her good graces completely!
Oh and this is how I picture Dom. I have no idea who this girl is but she's gorgeous! How you describe her is how this chick looks to me.
Ok, i'm done being a creep. Run it for real now lol
I appreciate Dom and Chris' friendship but I'm ready for them to be real with eachother. Heat it up! But like... In private lol. Chris know he want that girl and I believe there's like a slight worry in his mind about Dom and Omari's reconciliation. And I laugh everytime imagining these females swarming around itty bitty O constantly lmao.
I think everything is too safe right now. I would like for these group of friends to take some risk! And if you write about Doms practice that'll be cool because we haven't seen her sports side in a while, and I wanna hear about Chris' sports side as well. See how he acts when he's not around Dom. What would be coo is to see a female that's normal and not a hoe catch his interest in more than a friend way. See how Dom reacts to it since he's kinda forced to see her around Omari constantly. I mean I know he's not focused on it, but it would be interesting to see. Ignite some passion out of these two!
You're doing great!! Run it
Run it!
A friendship is better than no realtionship at all dont mess it up this time omari
Run it!!!
Girl I ain't stopped reading,
I really like this story
Dom and Chris are something else
I love how Chris and Omari know Dom so well
Dom is such a genuine person it's amaze
Chris was a lil scared thinking he was getting replaced with Omari
They are so f***ing cute. I can't deal with how cute Dom and Chris are. Like, everyone can see how adorable they are, even Omari, but they can't. I hate how they say they're just friends, but whatever. I love their relationship no doubt. They have that good ass friendship. Im glad she forgave Omari. I feel like he needed that kind of closure. I love how no one pays no mind to Nicki haha. I dont understand why they like to mess around with Dom. I mean, dont they realize that she is crazy?!!? They have something coming alright, and its coming soon.
Run it
::An hour and a half later::
“Why this nice ass place got slow ass elevators?” Marques, a long time friend of Omari’s asked.
“It’s not usually this slow.” Omari chuckled.
Once the elevator reached their level Dominique stepped out and the first person she saw was Omari.
“I think you’re going the wrong way babygirl, the party is upstairs.” One of the guys with them commented.
“Fasho and there’s no dress code so that bathing suit is very acceptable.” Another said.
“Seriously Omari, get your friends before they’re unable to reproduce.” She said trying to walk away before someone grabbed her by the arm.
Dominique spun around leading with her fist, but he was expecting it so he was already ducking when she turned.
“Still feisty”
“Marques! Oh my God!” she said jumping into his arms. “How have you been?”
“Good” he chuckled. “CSULB treating a nigga good, but not as good as you treat the eyes.” He said stepping back to get a good look at her, keeping a hold of her hands.
“Thank you” she blushed.
“I’m guessing you’re headed to the pool, but with who?”
“My friend Chris”
“Friend huh? Well how about you ditch your boy and come kick it with us at Omari’s party.”
“Yeah sure, and maybe afterwards we can read the phone book for fun.” Dominique suggested, causing everyone including the females giving her dirty looks to laugh.
“Damn you slow” Chris said coming from around a corner.
“Sorry, but I kinda got held up by an old friend. Chris this is Marques, Marques Chris.”
“What up?” they said as they dapped one another up.
“You should definitely come to the party.” One of the females commented eyeing Chris.
“You ready babygirl?” Chris asked ignoring the girl and looking down at Dominique.
“Yeah sure” she giggled wrapping her arm around his. “Later” she said walking away.
Omari pressed the up button then looked just in time to see Chris sweep Dominique off her feet and carry her in his arms giggling around the corner.
“So….Chris huh?” Marques questioned.
“Yep” Omari simply replied as he watched the elevator dial all over again.
The elevator ride was silent as was the walk down the hallway to Omari’s door. Once inside everything was live. Drinks were being consumed, half naked women were strutting around and people were having a good time. Omari walked straight to his windows with the beautiful view and looked down to the pool. At the moment Chris and Dominique were in the middle of a splashing match. With her head turned to the side Dominique slowly made her way towards Chris then went under the water and came back up with her arms around Chris. She raised up slightly and dunked him under the water. He came back up laughing and she swam to the side laughing.
“Come take a shot with me.” She said grabbing the bottle of Grey Goose.
“What you doing man?” Shaffer asked approaching Omari.
“Nothing” he said looking up at him.
Shaffer looked down at what he was looking at then back up at him with sympathy in his eyes.
“It’s all good man.” Omari said before walking away.
“What we gonna watch first?”
“I’m in the mood for Paid In Full.”
“Good selection” He said as he high fived her.
Chris and Dominique swam around for another 30 minutes before they called it quits for the pool. They cleaned up the few beer bottles and plastic cups before they left. Chris pushed the up button with the hand he was holding the Grey Goose bottle in and kept his arm around Dominique’s shoulders. When the elevator arrived the two stepped on together, Chris pressed the number ten, and just as the doors were closing they heard someone shout for them to hold the elevator. Chris stuck his foot out and tapped the elevator doors causing them to reopen. In walked a few females first, then Omari, followed by more women. Omari watched the two roll their eyes simultaneously.
“Push seven ma.” Omari instructed.
One of the females did as he said then turned her attention towards Chris.
“Spending the evening with your girlfriend?” she asked.
“Is this your way of asking if I’m single?” Chris asked.
“Kind of” she giggled.
“Seeing as you weren’t rude I’ll be nice. Yes I am single and yes I am spending the evening with a girl who happens to be my friend.”
“Lucky girl” she said looking over at Dominique.
“No. Lucky guy” She joked grinning.
Chris looked down at her then laughed.
“You guys should come by the party. You don’t mind do you Omari?”
“Not at all”
“Thanks but no thanks.” Chris replied.
“Awe why not?”
“Because Omari doesn’t like me.” He grinned.
“Why Omari?”
“Because I think he’s running game on my ex-girlfriend.”
“So, she’s your ex for a reason right?”
::DING::
“A very stupid reason and watch how you talk about her because she has a temper from time to time.”
The same female went to speak but Omari spoke before she could.
“Don’t say anything else because you’re standing right next to her.” He said walking off of the elevator.
She looked over at Dominique then walked off the elevator.
“I kinda feel sorry for the guy.” Chris admitted as he pressed the close button.
“I don’t”
(((12AM)))
“This is a pretty good party.” Shad said eyeing all of the women.
“When beautiful women outnumber the men it’s always a good time.” Omari said.
“It’d be better if Dominique was here.” Zoe voiced.
“Then go get her.” Omari suggested.
“Yeah sure, let me go driving around L.A. tipsy looking for her.”
“She’s upstairs with Chris.”
“You know where he stay?”
“Yeah”
“Then let’s go” she said grabbing Omari by the arm.
Shaffer, Marques, Trey, Shad, Drake, and Riley all followed them out of the condo and to the elevator.
“Damn, didn’t know this was a group function.” She said pressing the up button.
The elevator came quick and they made it to the tenth floor just as fast. Omari led them to his door and Zoe checked to see if it was unlocked which it was.
“Right on, thought I was gonna have to pick it.”
“Yeah because knocking would be absurd.” Shaffer commented sarcastically.
Everyone quietly snuck in anticipating catching them in some sort of lover act. Omari was terrified.
“Yeah Barbra it’s Richie, yeah look it, I ain’t never comin’ home no more. Take it easy.”
Both Chris and Dominique started cracking up laughing at a scene from Harlem Nights.
“Damnit!” Zoe said startling the two.
“What in the f*** ya’ll doing here?!” Chris asked standing up.
“Two reasons” Zoe said sitting down on the couch next to Dominique. “One we’re trying to catch you two kissing or playing dirty doctor or something.”
“We’re JUST friends!” the two exclaimed in unison.
“Sure, sure secondly we wanted ya’ll to come to the party.”
“No” they said in unison again.
“Fine, then we’ll stay until you change your mind.”
“You’re serious?” Dominique asked.
“You know it.” Zoe said placing her hands behind her head and kicking her feet up on Chris’s table.
“Why?” Chris asked.
“Why ya’ll always trying to be alone?” Drake asked.
Chris let out a deep sigh before he offered his hand to Dominique. She took it and let him lead her to his room and once inside he slammed the door shut.
“Think they’re mad?” Riley asked.
“What the hell is wrong with them?” Chris asked pacing.
“They’re drunk” she said putting on socks.
“Still doesn’t excuse their intrusion.”
“Actually it kinda does.” She said putting on her shoes.
“Why is Omari here?”
Dominique merely shrugged her shoulders.
“I know he brought them up here. What the hell is his problem?”
“I’ve got a couple of different theories.”
Chris gave up on being upset once he noticed that Dominique was over the situation.
“Damnit” he said going towards his dresser to get socks.
A few minutes later the two came from the bedroom and back into the living room. Chris put the movie on pause and walked out behind Dominique. Everyone else followed.
“Ya’ll mad?” Riley asked.
“Nope” Dominique responded as she watched the elevator dial.
“Yes you are.” Zoe laughed.
“I’m not, Chris might be, but I’m not. Got something for ya’ll asses on Monday.” She grinned.
“Sure you do freshman.” Riley giggled nudging her.
“Keep it up” Dominique smiled.
“Whatever you have in store for us on Monday I’ll be sure to show you the same courtesy when you pledge.” Zoe said as they got on the elevator.
“Who says I’m pledging?”
“Chris”
“I said no such thing.”
“Sure you did. When you said AKA wasn’t for her.”
“Still doesn’t mean I’m pledging.”
“Yes you will.”
“Remember this conversation on Monday.” Dominique said stepping onto the elevator and pressing the number seven.
When she turned around she caught a glimpse of regret on Omari’s face. The ride was silent and when the elevator reached the seventh floor everyone looked back at Chris and Dominique to see if they were gonna get off first, but all they did was stare back. The doors began closing but Shaffer quickly stopped it.
“Ya’ll gonna get off once we get off or are you two trying to pull a fast one?” Drake asked.
“Now why would we go through all the trouble of coming down here just to go back upstairs where ya’ll are guaranteed to follow us?” Chris asked taking Dominique’s hand then walking off of the elevator.
“Life has to be hard on people with low IQ scores.” Dominique giggled.”
“Did you just call me stupid?”
“If the shoe fits.” She shrugged never looking back.
Omari couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of the held hands. Their fingers weren’t intertwined so it didn’t seem too personal, but that constant physical connection the two seemed to always want and have irked Omari more than anything. He knew that Dominique was naturally affectionate and he took notice to how quickly Chris figured it out. He knew Dominique wasn’t fronting when she said that they were only friends, because once upon a time they were just as close. Yet the thought of them possibly dating never escaped his mind because once again, they too dated after such a tight friendship.
“Ok last time Omari, can we please go in?” Dominique asked breaking him of his trance.
“Why wouldn’t it be?” he asked with a slight attitude.
“Because it’s locked, I don’t have a key, I don’t live here anymore, remember?” she said giving him back the same amount of attitude.
Omari was stunned by her comment and let it show. His feelings were hurt and it was obvious to everyone. He unlocked the door then stepped away while glaring at Dominique.
“Ouch” Chris chuckled opening the door and walking in with Dominique right by his side.
As soon as they stepped in the door everyone that knew them greeted them by shouting or raising their glass towards them. Dominique and Chris waved back as she led them straight to the kitchen. Dominique released Chris’s hand and grabbed an unopened bottle of Grey Goose, a glass, and a handful of ice. Everyone that went up to Chris’s condo watched as she filled the cup up half way then took the bottle to the head until a quarter of it was gone. She put the bottle down then drank what was in her cup and filled it back up.
“Yeah, you’re mad.” Zoe commented.
“Stop confusing irritation with anger.” Dominique said grabbing her cup and the bottle and walking away. “Excuse me” she said glaring at Omari who was standing in her way.
She watched as his jaw twitched. She could tell her rudeness was becoming too much for him to handle.
“All of these women in here and I’m the one you choose to focus on. How about you give someone who’s actually gonna give you some ass this attention.”
He didn’t move.
“Let me help you out then, I’ll find someone for you and send her your way. The bedroom is still over there right?” she asked slightly nodding her head to the left.
Omari closed the space in between them and stared down into her eyes. He gently placed his hand on her shoulder and a kiss on her forehead before he looked her back in the eyes.
“Please stop” he requested.
A simple nod was her way of agreeing to the truce he asked for. With that Omari moved out of her way and walked away to his bedroom. She walked over to the large windows and stared out at the city.
“We should’ve left ya’ll asses upstairs.” Shad said looking over at Chris.
“Well no f***ing s***. What gave it away?” Chris asked with much attitude.
“Someone needs to get some ass because someone is obviously sexually frustrated.” Shad commented.
“And someone should probably stop talking at me before I knock someone the f*** out.” Chris said going to the fridge to grab a beer.
“Why don’t you go talk to your friend and calm her and yourself down in the process?”
“Do you know anything about women? She’s upset right now and needs time alone. I bet you’ve never made a single woman cum have you?”
“I know how to make a b**** nut my dude, too easy.”
“No you know how to make yourself nut, they know how to speed up that process by faking.”
Everyone started cracking up laughing and Shad walked away.
“Yo get the f*** out.” Omari said with his eyes still closed, lying back on his bed.
The person reached over and gently rubbed his knee in a sort of way that would help calm him down, not seduce him. He didn’t give a damn either way, he wanted to be alone.
“Are you deaf, I said…” he stopped after he sat up and saw Dominique staring at an old picture of them, hand still on his knee, drink in hand and up to her lips.
“I remember that day….good times.”
Omari moved to the edge of the bed where she was sitting. He didn’t want her to move her hand so he was as careful as possible but she moved it anyways.
“You have a way of bringing up those good memories lately. I see my buddy sometimes, then I see the other side of you almost immediately. I don’t know if you’re f***ing with me or you just really can’t help it.”
“I’m still not over you.”
“Tell me something I don’t know. You act out so much you make it obvious to the entire world.”
“I try to make you jealous so I can see if there are feelings for me at all and that s*** always winds up backfiring. I’m the one that winds up jealous somehow.”
Dominique let out a little giggle before she took another swig of her drink.
“You said something earlier that caught my attention. You said it doesn’t have to be like this between us and you’re right, it doesn’t. I’m sorry about earlier too, you just have a knack for getting under my skin with your attitude. Especially when it comes out of nowhere or it’s unwarranted. What did I do to make you want to be so mean to me?” she asked finally looking over at him.
“….You didn’t forgive me.” He said letting his head hang low.
“You betrayed me.” She replied with the same tone. “How could you?”
“I…” Omari cleared his throat after his voice cracked. “I’m a selfish bastard.” He said with his face in his hands to better hide his glossy eyes.
“This animosity between us needs to stop.” She said standing to her feet.
He nodded his head.
“Here, looks like you could use this more than me.” She said handing him her drink.
When he looked up a tear slid from his right eye. Dominique reached out and gently wiped it away. He quickly reached up and held her hand in place and slowly rubbed his face against it.
“What the hell is going on in there?” Zoe asked to no one in particular.
“I miss you so much.” He confessed.
“I miss you too, the old you.” She said before she gently pulled her hand away and turned to walk away.
“Wait!” he said standing to his feet and taking her by the wrist. “What does this mean?”
“It means…”
“Hey Mari, you still mad at me?” Nicki asked standing in the doorway.
Everyone watched as Omari slammed the door in Nicki’s face, no hesitation, and did it without moving his attention from Dominique. Everyone in the kitchen paying attention to the entire situation was dying laughing.
“Sorry bout that, you know she does that s*** on purpose right?”
“Of course I do.” Dominique laughed.
“So what does this mean?”
“It means that maybe we can become friends again. It’ll take a while but I think it’s possible. Just save the a**hole in you for the other chicks unless you want to drive me away again.”
“Of course not! Is there any chance we could…maybe…date again?”
“Now that I don’t know.”
“Why? What can I do to change your mind?”
“Omari I don’t trust you like that anymore. I’d rather trust you with my life than my heart. You crushed me with what you did because I honestly didn’t think you were capable of doing something like that to me.”
“Do I have a chance within this lifetime at least?”
“Anything is possible I suppose.” She said reaching past him and opening up the door.
“So can I call you some time?” he asked following her out of the room smiling hard.
“Sure” she giggled cause she could hear the smile in his voice.
“Should someone take a picture of you two getting along or is this a permanent thing?” Schaffer asked.
“That’s entirely up to him. You ready bud?” Dominique asked walking up to Chris.
“What? Why you leaving? Ya’ll just got here.” Riley commented.
“I really don’t feel like partying tonight.”
“Why you ain’t just say that in the first place?” Zoe asked grinning.
“You real f***in’ funny tonight. I think we’ll add ten more minutes to our time spent on Monday.”
“Come on Dom, stop it with the threats.” Riley laughed.
“Ya’ll need to stop sleeping on her.” Chris warned.
“You know what she has planned for us?” Zoe asked.
“Of course I do.”
“But you ain’t gonna say s***, so O since you know her just as well what she got in store for us?” Riley asked smiling.
“Should’ve asked me fifteen minutes ago.” Omari laughed.
“How about a hint?” Zoe asked looking at Chris.
“Might be a little bit of blood.”
“A whole lot of sweat so hydrate.” Dominique added.
“I got money on some tears.” Omari chuckled.
“I’m taking bets on who’ll puke first.” Chris voiced.
“Yeah right, ya’ll just trying to scare someone. Whatever, I can handle whatever you dish out fresh-meat.” Zoe said playfully jabbing her index finger in Dominique’s chest.
“We’ll see” Dominique smiled.
“Omari!” Nicki said from outside the kitchen.
“Excuse me sweetie.” Dominique said to Chris before she left his side.
Dominique placed her arm around Omari’s neck and he placed his around her waist.
“I know you see a conversation happening that you’re not welcome to join. I think it’d be best if you returned to wherever you came from.”
“It’s like that Omari?”
“I think you heard what Dominique had to say. Maybe you could give Chris another try, might come out triumphant this time.”
Chris turned towards her and opened up his arms. She rolled her eyes and walked away.
“Stupid b****” Chris laughed letting his arms drop to his sides.
Once all of the laughs died down Dominique detached herself from Omari.
“Ok we’re out.” She said walking past Chris but grabbing the front of his shirt to pull him along.
“Bye” they all said in unison.
“See you Monday” Zoe laughed.
“I wouldn’t f*** around Zoe.” Omari laughed.
Once Chris and Dominique made it back upstairs he locked the door behind them and they made their way to the living room.
“So I’m done drinking for the evening.” She giggled plopping down on his couch.
“If you don’t mind me asking, what went down between you and Omari?” he asked laying down, letting one foot rest on the floor and one leg rest just past Dominique’s back.
“We came to an understanding that the stupidity going on with us needed to stop.”
“It was a little more than that, because if I’m not mistaken he cried a little bit.”
Dominique looked at him with a questioning look on her face.
“In my defense everyone in the kitchen was watching. No one knew what to expect and…”
“And ya’ll wanted to be nosey.” She said cutting him off.
“Curios”
“He just told me he missed me and that he wasn’t over me yet. I saw my old Omari tonight and I told him that we could work on being friends again if he continued to be the same person that I knew not the a**hole he’s become.”
“Should I be worried?”
“About?”
“Not being able to spend all the time I want with you.”
“Nope” she smiled grabbing the remote and crawling up on him, resting her head on his chest. “He’ll be back to taking me for granted in no time.” She said taking the movie off of pause, as he wrapped his arms around her.
“Sorry and happy to hear that.”
“Why sorry?”
“I don’t like the idea of your feelings getting hurt.”
“I know what to expect, so my feelings will be just fine.”
Thank you for the long add! It was lovely.

They thought they were gunna get some d*** today, well you thought wrong. Omari made a fool of himself. Dumbass nigga. Poor Dom was so clueless. Haha
