“Alright Ms. Williams, you’ll be sitting in seat 7A, Enjoy your flight.” The flight attendant handed me my boarding pass. I smiled. “Thank You.” I adjusted my tote, went through the terminal and headed to my seat. I got settled in and prepared for take off. I’m so glad I got a window seat. I don’t know why but the scenery calms me. I pulled my chewing gum and neck pillow out of my bag. I hate riding airplanes so I always try to make my flight as comfortable as possible, so I just bum it out when I travel. I had my hair up so I can lay back and I wore a t-shirt and sweats with my favorite sneaks, and I brought my windbreaker just incase I get cold. The plane was surprisingly empty. I didn’t have anyone sitting by me so I was grateful. The flight attendants went around checking the overhead baggage compartments and prepared for takeoff. I popped a piece of gum in my mouth and put in my headphones even though it wasn’t authorized. If I don’t have something to occupy me I freak out. I sent up a prayer for the pilot, the plane and the passengers.
“Alright ladies and gentleman, we will be heading down the runway shortly. Please make sure to remain seated until the seatbelt lights are off and it is safe to move aboard. We should reach our final destination in about five hours and reach there by 12:43 pm local time. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please direct them to the flight attendants. With that being said, sit back, relax and enjoy your flight.”
I laid back, closed my eyes. I am so excited about going to California for a month just to enjoy life and have a good time before I start school again.
“Ladies and Gentlemen we will be landing in Los Angeles in about twenty minutes. Please place your seat back trays and seats in the upright position as we make our way to Los Angeles International Airport.”
I didn’t realize how tired I was until just now. It’s been pretty rough lately. My family and I aren’t speaking anymore. Long story. I was going to go home, but I decided to come to LA, Go to Hollywood, Rodeo Dr. See what all the fuss is about. I don’t have a plan or list of activities. I’m just going to wing it and see what happens. We land smoothly and we start to exit the plane. I put all my things back in my tote. I grab my shades and get off the plane. Walking through the airport I just had a feeling that this was a good move and is going to be a great month. I go down to baggage claim and grab my luggage. I didn’t bring much but I definitely came prepared. I walked outside and smiled, Man I missed being home.
