Chapter 19
Tori was waiting outside in her car with the engine idling when Kyle stepped outside. He was surprised that she had waited for him. Tori glanced at him then pressed a button on the driver’s side door. Kyle heard the locks click. He opened the door and got in.

Chapter 18
Tori sat out in front of the Browns’ family home. Kyle sat next to her. Neither said a word to other and hadn’t the whole ride over. She had called the Browns’ an hour earlier to let them know she was coming over and had something very important to talk to them about.
“Listen,” Tori glanced over at Kyle. “I’m going to in and talk to them first. When I stick my head back out the door that will be your cue to come in.”

The Next Morning Shortly Before Noon
Kyle entered the offices of Lewis & Associates. In the manila envelope he carried in his hand were printouts of the newspaper articles about the murders. He went up the front desk and patiently waited for the receptionist who was on the phone to speak to him. She hung up the phone after a few seconds and turned to face him.
“Hello, what can I do for you?” She asked.
“Torian White’s office please?” Kyle answered.
“Is she expecting you?”
“Uh…not exactly. This is kind of last minute.” He responded.

The Next Morning
Torian rolled over to the side of the bed and came face to face with her clock on the nightstand. The time read 7:00 o’ clock.
“Oh, no!” She leapt out of bed. She was due at work at nine, but because of L.A.’s crazy morning traffic, she was normally out the door by six. Her boss would have a cow if she was late especially since they had a big proposal that morning.
